  1. anyone can answer... what forced Putin and Russia to invade Ukraine? I know that Ukraine was not behaving when it came to the Donbas region but Donbas was within Ukraine's borders.
  2. Trump's policies are not going to change the realities listed in this forum. Why someone chooses to have kids is complex and politics is not the number one variable
  3. My fuzzy understanding of this conflict is that it is rooted to the Donbas region (East Ukraine) that is supposedly ethnically Russian. They were trying to become independent or merge with Russia. Ukraine and Zelensky did not exactly like this move. One thing that eludes me is why Ukraine has been relatively poor for as long as has been recorded. No, they are sub-saharan africa poor but relative to the US, Canada, and Western Europe.. they are pretty poor. Any ideas as to why?
  4. why did he want Ukraine to join NATO? From what I have read over the years.. Russia was not exactly a friendly neighbor.
  5. moving on... I really hope that PHI wins but I think that KC will win in much the same way as they did last time.
  6. i will be very interested to see if Canadians react to this negatively.. such as purchasing less American goods. Not sure they have a choice on some goods such as pistachios, almonds, avocados, pomegranates, etc.
  7. Will take your word on this one. I know next to nothing about Trudeau. My intuition was that he would cave in. He seems like someone who at his core does not think beyond tomorrow or next week. Not a long term thinker.
  8. A lot of lives would have been lost even if the US/NATO would have stayed out. Russia decided to invade and that entails loss of life no matter how big or small.
  9. what are your thoughts on that? I know nothing about Pierre Poilievre.
  10. on the surface,, it seems ok for the US to stop helping Ukraine in their battle against Russia. Not sure that they will win no matter how much money we siphon that way
  11. cant remember when but Trudeau is going to step down so I guess there is hope on the horizon for you folks.
  12. Scale is always important. What I am hoping that you are correct on is that the pushback is so great so as to motivate change. A few cancelled vacations will do nothing. A few thousand and it will impact Florida greatly being as they are highly dependent on jobs centered around naics code 71 and 72
  13. I hope that you are correct. Just to be clear.. I am not a Trump supporter in the least.
  14. They still reacted and seemingly gave Trump what he wanted. I do think that Canada should not have been a target but that's for another day.
  15. I would not say that Canada won.. they acquiesced to Trump. It was a rational choice. Just hope that this does not affect my trip to Toronto in September.
  16. interesting how their ratings are declining and yet supposedly this is where everybody gets all of their news/content.
  17. All i will say that there is a lot of unknowns in this one. Yes, we read media accounts but that only really covers a small portion of it.
  18. Will be going to Mexico in mid-March this year. Going to be interesting to see what the impact of this is.
  19. TDS... quite the imagination. I do not care for Trump but he won and that's all that needs to be said. I know your types.. all self righteousness and emotion. You want to be right instead of getting it right. Data is not your friend. I can tell that it intimidates you. You would rather just name call and tell strangers that you are superior. Again, its fine. Free speech does not guarantee quality of speech.
  20. Yes, he is quite triggered. I view them as a nothingburger and nothing worth getting worked up over. However, had a recent county commissioners meeting and this topic dominated the discussion. I was both amused and perplexed. There are issues that affect the population far more than drag queens but some can't be convinced.
  21. I would be very interested to know which nation on a per capita basis purchases more from the other nation. Been looking at Toronto area breweries... a few solid options.
  22. Because some times they get it wrong even when they have clear video evidence. It does happen.
  23. "The bills did challenge the 4th down" read that again. I understand why they would not challenge the 3rd down play. If the call is not overturned, you lose a timeout and that could be very valuable later on.
  24. NHL Standings are notorious for not panning out in the playoffs. That being said.. Winnipeg vs. Washington would be a cool Stanley Cup Final.
