Most state governors do not know the finer details of the water system. Our state governor in Nevada has no clue either. As for the mayor, I can't speak to that. She may have known of their only having 3 million gallons available. The reservoirs in the LA water shed are not full but are doing better than in years past. Also... the water that LA uses does not from the San Joaquin/Sacramento/Lake Tahoe so any dumb comments about the smelt are just dumb. Yes, they do get water from the Sierras but you have to look South for that.. ie Owens Valley Project.

there is no quantifiable evidence that the DEI hires in the LA fire department came up short on this. The fire hydrants running dry was not their call (and never has been). The decision to only have 3 million gallons available (which is more than enough most of the time) comes from a different place (hint.. it is not the governor).
-
The issue with the hydrants was that they were prepared for 3 million gallons which is more than enough... 99% of the time. the actual demand on that day was in excess of 12 million gallons. So no the hydrants were not deliberately shut off. Yes, 200 of the 1100 went dry because they were not equipped to give full water allotment to each. The logistics of this date back to the 1960's when LA was fairly Conservative..

It is bizaare how I have never seen these fine gents mentioned. They make such beautiful rock music.

Yes, Goff was the QB of the Rams when they won the NFC championship game against the New orleans saint. This was the one with the absolutely terrible non-called Defensive PI.

There are a lot of layers to this. Some can be blamed on politicians and some can't. However for those who think that the water in the North flows to the South obviously have never been to CA. The rivers that feed into LA do not start at Lake Tahoe or anywhere north of that. This is why they have the Owens Valley Project which takes water from the Eastern Sierras (Bishop, Lee Vining) and sends it to LA.

How will they blame Trump?

When I read about this case.. I get the feeling that we do not have even close to the whole story. I have no problem with law enforcement not disclosing their entire data set to the public. It takes time to put pieces together in a criminal case. I worked on a civil case and it took 6 months to really come to a solid hypothesis. I do not buy into conspiracy theories (no matter which side peddles them) so spare me the self righteous narratives. A lot of unanswered questions on my part. -
So in short, you are guessing. That's fine. I have no idea what they actually do or if they knew about this guy. Unlike you though, I do not trust media sources (no matter the outlet). Folks like to say that we fudge numbers and yet when pressed for specifics.. can never offer even the slightest verifiable detail. All they have is secondary media sources.

Third World Living in the USA

To be poor in America is a far different ball game than being poor in CAR, Sudan, or Cameroon. There are so many resources available to someone in the US. If one wants off the street in the US.. it can be done. Maybe not in one day but soon enough. The only real major obstacle is mental illness. Difficult to do stuff if you have no idea where you are or how you got there. If one is in Bangui, CAR you face incredible odds. No soup kitchens, shelter, free bus passes, free cell phones, etc. The fact that you can't see the difference is interesting. -

Sell... you are quite the master of obfuscation. So if I say that Penn State defeated Boise State in the 2024 Fiesta Bowl by the score of 31-14, what am I selling? Pointing out obvious, verifiable fact is not an act of promotion. -

I have been homeless. Guess what? There are resources available in the US that are nothing but fantasy in places like the Central African Republic (CAR). There are no food banks, shelters, or soup kitchens. Nor can you donate plasma, recycle cans, pawn your stuff, etc. Jobs are scarce unlike the US. Lastly there is no church or charity to assist you along. Living on the street in the US.. you mostly get left alone as long as you leave others alone. I was on the street for 8 weeks in Salt Lake City and well.. it was quite boring. Life was never in danger as opposed to CAR. -

There are degrees of poverty.. I know, I have lived it. The desperation of someone living in Bangui, Central African Republic is so far greater than someone in Baltimore. This is like comparing a Porsche 911 to a 6-volt Power wheels and saying that they are both vehicles. -
How will they blame Trump?

I would not blame Trump nor Biden on this one. It is unlikely that either knew about this individual before the attack. Possibly someone at the FBI, CIA, or Homeland Security did and did not act upon solid intel but there is no way to know about that. -

You must be upset or you would not be motivated to respond. So what about my pointing out the hyperbole has you so upset. The poorest in America still live fairly decent lives if you stack them up against Sub-saharan Africa or most of South America. This is easily proven. -

Interesting obfuscation. You are the one that is coming off as being offended or worked up. Even your comrade admitted that it was a hyperbole.. interesting. -

Do you know why they use Turo? No national database. Yes, there is a website but the transactions are simple and person to person. It is not uber where there is tons of information on the driver. The Turo app is a means of connecting two parties. There is no company on either end. -
2025 Predictions
impartialobserver replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Housing prices in the West and East of the US mostly stay the same if not decline by the smallest of margins (1% of less) Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl The deportations start but the numbers deported fall way short of totals thrown out by talking heads. Protracted legal battles start in CA over water rights. -
Agreed. Not sure that there is a better matchup for the final game.

What an exaggeration. to think that someone living in Richmond is living in the exact same conditions as someone in Bangui, Central African Republic or Paramaribo, Suriname... Such blatant hyperbole makes the author's content unreliable.
