Autocracy has arrived to the US
impartialobserver replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
DOGE.. a lot of the stuff that you read about on FOX NEWS is going to get scaled back. Existing law and precedent supercedes an EO. That being said.. it was time for something like this. -
not my favorite band but Eddie Van Halen changed guitar playing forever.

in all fairness he could have nominated AOC for this post and the wolves would have came calling. Its what happens when folks are so purely partisan. Food additives, not a bad idea. Will not go into detail but a lot of sodas and sweet items have extra ingredients such as Calcium DiSodium EDTA that accelerate tooth decay.

Next up is the NFL's version of a slow motion chess match.. the draft. If I was BUF.. I would be bold and trade up to get Kenneth Grant (DT Michigan) or Tyler Booker (G Alabama)

Will folks stop ingesting fast food during RFK's time? Probably not. Will there be less federal involvement in vaccines? probably. I prefer that folks take care of the former over the latter. You can get X illness and most likely survive but the consequences of 20+ years of poor diet choices... much bigger impact on one's health.

US Inflation Accelerates
impartialobserver replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
But certain folks will feel good because there will be less immigrants and there will be less foreign produced goods coming in. As to how much inflation increases (or not).. that is nothing but prediction. Anyways, back to the point.. if you analyze the current data you find that its not quite so cut and dry as saying that Trump caused it deliberately. -

Probably but as of yet.. all we offer is prediction. Predictions are not evidence. Also, probably going to see a rise in the unemployment rate but most likely not until march 2025 (with the number coming out in mid-april 2025) -
US Inflation Accelerates

He makes promises that he can't keep.. just like all other politicians. Also, just because prices are up now that does not mean that they will not go down in the future. -

and you take the promise of every politician literally? If so, you are a sucker for disappointment. -

This type of simple thinking is why politics are a joke. Just because person X is President, does not mean that they are responsible for prices for good Y going up or down. -

This is why you need to do further analysis other than blaming it on Trump.... https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/business/inflation-cpi-report-january.html do not know if the link is behind a pay wall so sorry if it is. -
15,000 employees in the EPA
impartialobserver replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
DEI and EPA are not the same thing. I am not sure what level is acceptable. If I was in charge of this.. I would go by person by person, position by position. I agree that we need less employment in the federal government but would not single out the EPA. -
Trump Tower - Gaza
impartialobserver replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
this has no chance of ever happening. As other posters have pointed out, they would simply find other ways to attack. Ok, so you remove everyone from Gaza (at incredible cost to the US) and then rebuild it. The still angry Palestinians/Arabs would simply find other ways to attack. What should really be done is to find a way to educate the younger population that Israel is not the colonizer. Second, they should work on creating a more favorable situation with the irrigation water in Palestine (not Gaza). Those two would keep the proverbial pot from always being ready to boil over at any minute. -
15,000 employees in the EPA

Well the EPA may see some staffing cuts but it is not going to be dissolved. This is not a video game. To completely dissolve it would demand that Trump and Congress pass a lot of legislation. Currently, there are legal obstacles that a President can't circumvent with an EO.
