I do feel bad for the average Ukrainian who is simply trying to live and get by. Nothing that they can do to stop this war. My guess is if they try to leave, they face serious challenges especially if they travel east or south. Second, war tends to deplete your resources so probably can't afford much and it takes money to travel.

The other poster is doubting that liberals on this site are random. They chose to create this thread now because Trump is in office but yet chose not to create threads like this when Biden was in office. My view is that it is fairly random. I dont know the particulars but likely they can't just be laid off. For example, once you get to the 5-year mark with this state government.. it is a matter of law if they try to fire you without cause. Hence, why folks stay in their positions for 25 years.
