  1. nowhere in the article does it say why they actually did it. It speculates but there is nothing concrete. This is why I do not simply read article and then reflexively react.
  2. Well either they have to stop being sore losers or one side has to definitively prove their litigious case (voter fraud or voter suppression). The latter is not as simple as it seems. Errors happen but the key is proving that it was systematic and deliberate. Nothing that I have seen proves that.
  3. I should have stated that the colonizers that I speak of were those that colonized Africa and South America. It is foolhardy to think that any tribe/group/nation is just going to bow down to strangers and let them have their land. As expected, they were wary, apprehensive, and defensive. The French, Spanish, etc. as a result were none too pleasant. Being friendly, helpful all the while invading, dominating, and subjugating someone is a bit of an oxymoron. Extracting something from someone's territory is always going to be contentious. We probably focus on the colonizers because as of today.. most of the colonies are poor and the colonizers are not. Some exceptions. Can we trace back some of the issues that they have today to the actions of the colonizers.. yes. Before you blast away.. not all can or should be. They have had between 50 to 200 years (depending on the nation) to get things right and to results are mixed is an understatement.
  4. On another note.. acknowledging that the colonizers of the past were not pleasant to say the least is not racist against them. It is much like walking outside and pointing out that it is 72 degrees outside. Should be punish long distant ancestors of these colonizers that inflicted much pain and suffering? No.
  5. Look at the maps on politico... Texas quite a few blue counties. Yes, the red outnumber the blue but as their population grows.. this is going to change. My home state, Idaho, used to be as red as red gets but now there are blue counties where there were none. https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/texas/
  6. Well, maybe.. just maybe, you should be a bit more rational and not just zealousness and passion. Assuming (your main skill, I know) that all numbers/stats center around covid deaths is a sign that you simply blast away with thinking first.
  7. Why include this second paragraph when you know that I will not read a single character of it? In the meantime, I am writing an R script that brings employment data (at the industry level) with that individual educational outcomes. Not a single mention of COVID.. no way
  8. the places in the US where they can move and be free of them darn lefties is shrinking. Previous strongholds; Montana, idaho, Utah, Nevada, South Dakota, are seeing sustained population growth and with that comes more liberal politics. If they can handle the cold.. Wyoming and North Dakota are the only places that I can think of where liberalism can be avoided.
  9. Only 57 or so hours away from seeing the Cure live in concert finally
  10. And the only numbers/stats in the collective universe are Covid Deaths?
  11. Because you respond to me.. cause and effect. Is that simple enough? By the way. you are simply hilarious. Yes, I am a numbers/stats guy. However, in your world the only numbers/stats are those that deal with covid deaths. If that does not show bias.. not sure what does. also, more exaggeration and hyperbole on your part. You are consistent if nothing else.
  12. At the root of this is the parents starting in the mid-70's telling their kids that they had to get a degree. No matter what the degree is.. just get one. Why? Because the college degree is the only way to escape the dead-end job in manufacturing, retail, restaurant, and health care where you struggle paycheck to paycheck and are physically broken down by your mid-40's. Later on, they were made to be non-dischargeable when it comes to bankruptcy. This makes them price-inelastic.
  13. https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2023/05/aging-united-states-population-fewer-children-in-2020.html?utm_campaign=20230525msacos1ccstors&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery A few tidbits.. 1. places with older populations do not see sustained economic growth. Why? Fixed incomes and fewer/less varied purchases. 2. Older folks are more conservative and more likely to vote. Why? They have spare time to dedicate to politics.
  14. I know that you can forward links. However, can you lay out one example where legislation explicitly seeks to end the life of a trans person and therefore gives them zero options. Now when I say options.. I do not mean only "good" options. The existence of an option/choice of any kind is sufficient.
  15. This is the new reality. Every time someone loses.. no matter the geography, they can just cry about it being rigged and someone will believe it.
  16. you have a well documented track record of making assumptions and now lets add hyperbole to your repertoire. "Crying" when it is you who seeks me out and seeks heated debate.. and when I inform you (on multiple occasions) that i do not care, that means I am crying. That's some great imagination.
  17. Arguing about the various "isms" is just about the most fruitless venture one can do. They are purely subjective and what qualifies as "__-ism" is purely subjective. Two moving targets is not a recipe for exact, concise debate. That being said, I have been quite masochistic in the past and read Das Kapital and Mein Kempf from cover to cover. The former has been disproven by economists. The latter is so poorly written as to be indecipherable.
  18. It is bizaare that they both (liberalforum.net and liberalforum.org) have the word, "liberal" in the name but are both owned by die-hard Conservatives and are mostly populated by Conservatives. Liberalforum.net is the more abrasive of the two. The .org ceased to exist because it was purely donation-driven and the donations dried up.
  19. liberalforum.net has 3 or 4 posters who are unapologetically white supremacist. It is not reading between the lines. They will tell you everytime, every day how blacks are inferior and should be done away with.
  20. this forum is far more civil than liberalforum.net or liberalforum.org
  21. In my neck of the woods, this reality ^^ simply is not so. Is everyone fully supportive of trans people and such? No. But I have yet to see any dedicated movement to eradicate them. To those who are not in support, this is viewed more as a nuisance than a plague (figuratively speaking)
  22. If this topic was one that I cared about... not sure how I would go about it. Fairly sure that I would have to go over what raw data i got with a fine tooth comb. Raw data is not charts, graphs, links, articles... it is the line by line micro level data that is used to create the charts. A lot of times, that is not as easy to find as it seems. You are yet another person who can't handle my blunt, direct honesty. I gave you the reason that I do not care and you should just move on and accept. Your diatribes will not motivate me. Post all you want but I will just scroll on by.
  23. For the umpteenth time.. I do not care about the topic, do not have your passion for it, and as a result do not have the knowledge. I am not sure if I can lay it out more directly and succinctly. I am a numbers guy who swims in it all day and yet covid deaths and such never come up. Do you want to know what numbers I look at? Employment, unemployment, wages, number of firms, number of establishments, taxable wages, contributions to unemployment insurance. Lots of data that does not involve covid.
  24. first, because it is mostly in the past. Mask mandates, vax mandates are mostly a thing of the past. Maybe not in your neck of the woods but here.. there is not much evidence of it left second, I know that you are omniscient. However, I am not so pardon my lack of perfection. Hearing, reading hundreds of disparate view/opinions from so-called experts.. I decided that there were better uses of my time/headspace. I also knew that my one disagreement was not going to change the outcome. How do I know? Others at my work place opposed the policies regarding vaxxing and nothing changed. In the meantime, I used my mental energy to learn R coding and Python. Has turned out to be quite advantageous
  25. interesting method. I will say that this forum accounts for 99% of the times that I hear about trans people or grooming. I do not read comments on facebook or twitter so maybe that explains that.
