  1. Constant... by its very nature implies repetition. One inconspicuous (flag with no supporting signage) instance in 70 hours is not repetition. One is not plural. I do have school aged kids. 3rd grade and Kindergarten to be specific and yet not a single mention of it. politicians and their supporters are curious creatures. They are constantly looking for things to be outraged about. Daily life and what I see on this forum are night and day. on the forum.. the world is coming to an end. What was once good/perfect is now being torn down. Daily life... nothing of this sort.. not even close.
  2. Yes, honestly. We use ChatGPT which is artificial intelligence. Using this 3 or 4 times a day for a total of 20 minutes each work day would qualify as constant.. 4 seconds out of 252.000 does not. 4 seconds out 252,000 is not constant.. Being in NV.. do you know what i see at a much higher rate than 4 of 252,000 seconds... Casinos, restaurants, and gun retail. A bit oversensitive you are or you go looking for it and then complain about it.
  3. in the definition of most (and you if you were being honest)... 3 or 4 seconds in the span of 70 hours does not qualify as constant. Do you know what I saw the most of... ? Artificial Intelligence. Oh.. and get this, there was nothing else around the flag.. No literature, no signage. You had to know that the pink striped flag was for trans. I looked it on my phone between bands. So for 69 hours and 56 seconds... I never saw anything but could not get away from it..
  4. and If there is one place in the world that I would expect to see something.. it would be at an amnesty international booth. Oh... to see Amnesty International at a rock concert.. that can't be. No way.. Before you look dumb.. I went to the rock concert for the music and not the extraneous noise. As for heterosexual.. nothing that used that word but plenty of things that promoted heterosexual sex. It is a large city in case you did not know that. So one instance in the span of 70 hours in a very liberal area.. This instance lasted 3 or 4 seconds at most. But,.. I can't get away from it. It was omnipresent no matter where I went or what I did... hahhahahaa. Just imagine if I went in any direction from reno other than west... the odds that I would see anything are abysmally small but a person can't get away from it..
  5. Your dislike of reality is comical. It is not dishonest.. it just is and your approval of that reality is not needed or wanted.
  6. Every forum struggles because the type of person that inhabits them is mostly someone who is not indicative of the greater populations. The average person does not care nearly as much as someone on here. Some, not all, on forums are on forums where anonymity exists because they know that their views are unpopular (rare) and they would either get ostracized or ignored if they voiced these opinions out in the open.
  7. Economics at the masters and phd level is math, statistics, and probability.. You can fight this but that is reality.
  8. in other news.. was in the SF Bay area from friday to monday. Only saw one mention of trans-anything.. How can that be? It was a flag at an Amnesty international booth at a concert. As for trans-people.. I may have seen one or a few.. there was no one in my view that was explicitly trans. But a person can't possibly get away from this kind of thing..
  9. interesting how you move the goal posts? In the example of West Africa.. who invaded whom? Did the colonizer/invader have to do this? These are simple questions that you will not answer.. you are incapable of such honesty.
  10. in 9 years.. I only encountered one professor that was openly and explicitly political. Yes, he was a liberal but he was the only one. Grad school (4 years) was so focused on the math and statistics... not sure where you would even find room for politics. Take an ARIMA model as an example. (AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average) and formulating it by hand.. not quite so simple as Liberal or Conservatives.
  11. wrong again. In grad school for economics.. the focus is on math and statistics. There was zero mention of marx, keynes, socialism, Bentham, etc. or any ethics?
  12. It was beyond words. Went MIA because I had to travel to San Francisco (4 hours away) to see it. 3 hours of the heartbreakingly excellent music that is the Cure. Not sure what else they could have played in order to improve the experience.
  13. It should be fun. Have always wanted to see them but then I think, "there will be a next time".. will there will be no next time if I do not want to travel to Europe
  14. I answered your question already. You are showing our bias again. Who hires sociology grads? First, school disricts. Second, law firms in the form of paralegals. Third, any firm that needs a public relations manager. "Math, Accounting, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Microbiology, I REALLY hope you aren't lumping those useful degrees with Lesbian Dance Theory, Trans Gender Theory, Critical Race Theory, and other left wing programs. " About this one.. lets go back to my original post. At University of Nevada, what undergrad degrees qualify you for the graduate program in Economics? Where did i mention lesbian dance theory? its really a good thing that you do not work in my office. Someone would ask you what is the average wage for college grads in NV and instead of you doing what was asked and giving them a number... you would go off on tangents like this.
  15. I am going to go to Target just in spite of this. For instance, I do not go to Wal-mart unless I have no other options. Why? Because I worked there from 2004 to 2005 and it was easily the worst job that I have ever had. Therefore, I shop at Wal-Mart maybe once every 2 to 3 years.
  16. Yes, I know about Canada. Again, I am referring to Africa and South America.. Those in what we now call West Africa did not just welcome the Europeans in and cede control without a single conflict. By pointing out that it white Europeans that colonized/invaded that area is a statement of fact.. just like saying that the Denver Nuggets are playing in the 2023 NBA Finals. I am white and I feel no guilt over the actions of the French who started their invasion in 1677? Not even a little bit. If folks are thinking that pointing out known objective facts is racist.. maybe they need to not be so reactive.. err. Snowflake-y
  17. Trump.. he said a lot of very braindead things.. however, you know what was worse? the instant, reflexive, over-the-top reactions from the media/internet. This is why I stopped visiting Facebook regularly.
  18. I guess we have to agree to disagree. Stating simple fact is not racist or perjorative to me. There were colonizers and they did not just walk up and say, "give me control" and the natives just said, "sure".. and they shook hands and got on with life. By stating that John Wayne Gacy was white says nothing bad about whites.
  19. can you think of one reason why a city/county/state would not establish a new voting precinct? Now.. do not show your bias and only include "good" reasons. List possible reasons.. no matter how good they are
  20. No, he did not. The sentiments behind it predate Marx by a thousand or so years. Another amazing concept is how when you tell someone that you have a degree in economics.. they immediately assume that you spent years analyzing Marx and communism. Reality.. I spent two weeks in my entire academic career (9 years in total) on this. The professor, a woman i might add, tore his theories to shreds and we moved on to Keynes, Gary Becker, and James Tobin. In grad school for economics.. marx, socialism, communism never came up once. Not a single mention.
  21. and what did I write.." in the mid-70's"... Hmm... thinks for repeating me. At least, next time cite your source. Yes, there is a market for a sociology degree. Is it a big one? Not directly. However, a lot of undergrad degrees are gateways to the graduate degree. For example, for a masters in economics.. you do not have to have an undergrad degree in Economics. At University of Nevada, what undergrad degrees qualify you for the graduate program in Economics? Math, Accounting, Economics, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Microbiology. Also, in a lot of workplace settings.. the existence of a degree no matter what it is translates to a pay increase. Teaching is one of them.
  22. it is interesting reading/hearing how folks think of the word, "socialism" now as compared to how Marx used it in Das Kapital.
  23. So if someone was to wait until 18 (as opposed to current age of 16) to have this done.. there is no chance that they will live?
  24. So are they being denied all healthcare of any kind or just certain procedures? Any consideration for age or cost.
  25. population and/or population density has nothing to do with this, I know. In NV at least.. you no longer have a designated precinct/location that you can only vote in. As long as you live in county x, you can vote anywhere in county x.
