Klobuchar klobutcher's it
CdnFox replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That doesn't appear to be true. trump took over end of January 2025, this chart seems to stop at the beginning of 2025. (little unclear) So this is ALL biden But it doesn't. That's just a pure lie. It appears to show only the time biden was in office. It ends in 2025. Remember what i always say - if you have to lie to make your point, you probably don't have a very good point -
Three Thoughts on Trump - 2025
CdnFox replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The tariff thing doesn't seem to be bothering him too much, and the deportation thing actually seems to have support. He is getting beaten up with Epstein and I really am shocked but that really is a problem of his own making. We will have to see how the next couple of quarters pan out. A decent and respectable growth rate is about 3%. So far except for his first couple months he's hitting that and quite frankly almost every president misses it during their first few months. What has to be making him happy is the democrats are doing even worse than it. They really should be eating his lunch for it now that they're not. The fact is it wouldn't take much for them to be in a position to flip enough seats in the midterms to be able to impeach trump and actually have it go all the way. But right now that doesn't look like much of a threat just yet. If his economy doesn't pick up a bit then I think he might be in trouble. The simple fact of the matter is people expected lower prices and more opportunity and better jobs and so far that's been really lukewarm Oh I think they're going to be successful at politicizing it. When the stuff is released it will be in the papers again and we'll see how sticky it is. The left's ability to contort literally anything into proof that trump sleeps with 4-year-olds is nothing short of incredible. We'll see how badly it sticks. At the end of the day if people are making good money and eating good food and have a roof over their head comfortably they're not going to care . And right now when you listen to people in the polls it seems like it's still the problem is they feel he should be doing better on those fronts. We'll see what the next quarter looks like -
Because you don't get the execution. Carney knows what to say, he knows what the conservatives are pushing is right but he doesn't know how to make it happen. Remember how we were going to build baby build, and do major projects faster than any time in our history? We're coming up on a year and he hasn't actually gotten anything going that wasn't already off the ground, And even if he did get this pipeline going with smith with which I don't believe for a moment that he's going to actually do they wouldn't even break ground for another 4 to 5 years. He failed with trump, he's completely abandoned inter provincial trade issues having failed at that, his housing plan is already failing, he's not delivering on anything. And every day I read in the paper about somebody being killed by someone who's out on bail for the fifth time, he was going to take care of that and even voted down a conservative motion and yet here we are And he intends to run perpetual deficits at a level we simply cannot afford. He's making Trudeau look stingy Hey if he could actually deliver on the stuff that he promises I think a lot of conservatives would be happy. But massive deficits, crumbling economy, continued rampant crime, continued Reliance on the US and no major inter provincial breakthroughs or major projects that weren't already happening, the guy might as well be justin Trudeau

Well here we go: 'This is a battle we don't intend to lose' — Blanchet throws his hat in with Eby against pipeline Quebec is jumping into The Fray. They will be attempting to turn this into proof that carney will happily step over the rights of provinces including Quebec if it suits him and quebecers and First Nations in Quebec may not get a voice. I think carney was trying to be a little bit clever here but it may come and bite him in the butjust a little bit before the dust settles bC nDP Flocked to the liberals last election And carney picked up a number of seats there, and also he did very well in Quebec. If this costs him support in those two provinces it will make it very difficult for him in another election.

So here's my challenge. Canada mostly needs to defend it's airspace. We don't go to a lot of countries and bomb them on our own. If we do at all, and that's getting more rare, we go with other allies like the us. So while it sounds like having a squadron or two kicking around to work jointly with them and collect our 'participation' awards when the US picks a fight somewhere and the rest of us get dragged into it, it doesn't seem like we will ever deploy sufficient numbers of them to justify buying 88. It would seem that what we need most is a reliable figher in sufficient numbers to protect our airspace at home. As to trump, there is no reason to believe the next guy will be any better for us to deal with. Or the one after that or after that. The republican senate and house has backed trump in his attack on us, and many americans have promoted the 51'st state idea. And it's not the first time. a Reliance on America is no longer viable. You need to cope with that. You haven't addressed that at all other than to say "Well....MAYBE they'll start being nice to us someday". Not good enough. As to whether or not my opinion is relevant, I and the others like me who pay the taxes are the ones who are going to be putting the bill. So guess what, it's relevant.

LOLOL holy crap YOU were the one who insisted 100 times over that legislation was perfectly fine and the constitution didn't need to be changed LOL I was the one who kept telling you legislation can't do it. Unfortunately you'll never get the constitution changed. Just not possible. Changing legislation is not htat hard, you can vote for a party that supports the changes. But the constitution requires all the provinces to buy in AS WELL as the gov't and it's always a disaster when they try. The only practical form of accountability is the voters. They partiicpate in the parties, they select the leaders they put the parties in power and they can take them out and punish them. If only we could get you to stop voting "yes" for corruption we might do something .But you've made it clear you don't believe in democracy in the first place and won't be supporting honest gov't anytime soon.
-
Yes, we can see you kiddo That never happened LOL you're having weird fantasies again I'm not happy with him for other reasons " and " i don't blindly support anyone. I don't pretend the leader of a party i support is perfect just because i support that party." Yeah, you seem to pee yourself regularly worrying about him I accept your admission of defeat

Again, if that's your measure we should be buying f 16 and 15's, the israelis have hit them with those often enough too. In fact, they get bombed pretty regular, when was the last time they shot down any us or israeli aircraft? And i don't think you're right about the aircraft. And 'combat tested 'as i noted is utter bullshit. THe f15 wasn't either when it came out and neither was the f35. we'd never buy a new aircraft if 'must be combat tested' was the requirement. And nobody freaked out over the f35 price. Trudeau cancelled our purchase claiming that we didn't do our job researching options. In reality he didn't want to spend a nickel on the military if he could avoid it. ANd the gripens wouldn't be going to hostile nations and 'getting' anything. We need the ability to defend our airspace against incursion. which means we need lots of planes and having good uptime makes sense. And we do NOT want to be beholden to the US. Sorry but politically and strategically that just isn't acceptable. I'm sure the airforce would love to have a large fleet of f35's. I'm sure doctors would love to see an MRI machine in every hospital across canada and i'm sure the police would love to have 24 hour helicopter coverage of the city.

LOL that'd still be you projecting little guy You just call everyone around you a loser because you're deseperate to have someone you can relate to And pp's got you so scared you have to mention him every two minutes If you really didn't like him you woudn't think about him night and day You'll understand when your voice stops cracking and you start having to shave

I suspect he will take the opportunity to hire another one of his friends at 800,000 a year plus perks. That's how it's gone so far. Frankly I suspect that is leaving was not entirely expected. I mean he didn't actually quit the party he just quit cabinet. Carney has been working very hard to get all of the Trudeau era faces tucked away so that people didn't associate him with Justin. We'll see if he gets offered a position at the UN or an ambassadorship or the like
-
No, we don't. It would be a pretty hard law to write as well. How would you even word it? You'd basically have to say that a prime minister isn't allowed to do business before or after he's in office. And Carney is a slimeball who's ripping off the people... and he's also prime minister who's the only guy who can really change the law from a practical point of view THat's why we kept TELLING you not to vote in the weasel to guard the hen house.
-
Cheezy backtrack dude It can easily be argued that nobody wins any war. But at the end of the day the Canadians were victorious whether you want to call that a win or not. The germans were less victorious Yeah. which doesn't mean the f35 isn't good of course, just that that's not a good measure.

Yeah. Knock yourself out: The hundreds of millions Canada is spending on 'gendered' foreign aid | National Post Here's one of my faves "Ottawa gave $4 million to Ukraine to fund “gender-inclusive demining.”" LOLOL Sure, a lot of these were started under Trudeau Bacardi has deliberately instructed that they continue and he has added to them. And this isn't even all of them, there's plenty of others that are similarly useless And you look less stupid right now by the way had you done a little bit of research before asking for something that was recent news. Next time I'm making you look it up on your own

Absolutely not one of the world's most highly contestant air spaces. I agree it's a tried and tested platform but come on. Everybody bombs Iran. And just to be clear your logic if applied at the time would have said that nobody should ever buy the F-35 and should only buy eagles because the eagle had been tested in combat but the F-35 never had. It's not a particularly valid argument. It may be the F-35 is the best choice, I have my doubts that it should be our only fighter, but you could make the argument that it should be if you wish. But the ability to bomb Iran and the fact record against Iran is not sufficient reason one way or another

Nothing on the cbc front page this morning. CBC News - Latest Canada, World, Entertainment and Business News There is a story about a minister quitting ZELENSKI'S cabinet in the ukraine but not a word about canada's But it must be on the 'canada' page right? Canada - CBC News Nope. Not a peep. THere IS a story about the CPC getting a new campaign manager titled "But how much has really changed?". THat was announced about a week ago and they're still writing hit pieces about that. Nothing about him quitting, nothing about anyone else quitting or considering it, no articles about possible fractures in the liberal party, nothing. Less than 24 hours and they've turned the page. They went after the CPC for a week and change. The cbc is beyond bias, they're a complete media wing for the libs. They cover up and repress negative stories and focus constantly on positive ones for the libs while attacking their opposition. They put out the bare minimum so they can PRETEND to cover stuff "oh i think we did a story on it somewhere, we didn't ignore it", but it's a tiny fraction of what they do if the story is negative to the CPC.

When you say "we know", are you referring to you and the voices in your head?

I would remind you that Carney just hired his banker buddy for 800,000 a year plus expenses and benefits (i'll be over a million) to be in charge of procurement and the guy's never served a day in his life. So the gov't would seem to disagree with you They don't feel the military is sufficiently capable. And to be honest there's always political considerations whether the military likes it or not. Just like every other department of gov't be it medical or diplomatic, it doesn't exist in a vacuum and there are political, social and economical considerations. There's a GREAT deal to be said for NOT relying on the US for our military hardware, even if they've got the best for now. Seriously, if china had the best fighter would you suggest we should buy from them? Like it or not that relationship is broken. And while we may buy some from them for reasons, it may be economically better to establish relations with a european manufacturer and in the long run it may be a better alliance too. Europe produces some top quality fighters. And for the missions it seems likely we'll get into we may be better off with having more planes that are easier to maintain than not enough of the good ones. Oh, and in the end we won ww1 btw.

You're the one who admitted it little guy and here's yet another thread full of people laughing at you You think acting like the class clown in grade 3 somehow makes you look kewl But while it's amusing for us it really just makes you look pathetic. Like you're desperately in search of a father and a peer group
