MAGA is goo-goo-ga-ga for spectacle
CdnFox replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I can observe you and your words directly. There's an interaction. Nor do I try and assess anything particularly deep about you or your psyche. And mostly I just know when you're not telling the truth. You make a statement about your feelings about trump which is in direct contradiction to things you've written then I can look at that as an intelligent person and assess the situation and say that's not an honest statement. Now, I have said many times said that trump lies. And I've also said that he says many things that are untrue that he probably believes are true but he's just not that bright. So in many respects I don't treat him any different than I treat you. There's no conflict there You're very kind -
Boy you sure do talk to that mirror a lot Obviously you're extra butt hurt and sad today, AND you forgot my little down arrow to REALLY show me who's boss
-
Still crying and begging i see I accept your admission of defeat
-
The reason you give down arrows is because you're so emotionally upset at the fact that nobody takes you seriously. I mean do you notice nobody else does that? It's just your way of saying that you're crying and you're hurt inside and you wish people would be your friend but nobody will. You think that they're punishing people but I don't anyone else thinks is that it's like a blinker signal to the whole world that you look at yourself like a loser It's the kind of thing you'd expect a 15-year-old kid to do when he feels his parents have been mean to him. Ohhh... wait...
-
It is being said that he runs his caucus like a business executive and doesn't take any feedback or opinion from anyone else. It has been suggested this may be one of the reasons he's getting rid of as many of the old liberals as possible and replacing them with his buddies from the banking community. At grossly inflated wages And we're seeing his lack of political acumen. He has advisors he knows what they're doing but I don't think he listens to them as well as he needs to. And that's going to trip him up over time

If that's true then you're having trouble communicating what you're thinking. And my suspicion is that would be because you're changing what you're thinking as it's shown to be logically indefensible You have no idea what trump thinks or how he sees things. You create this bullshit to engineer and narrative that fits your perceptions of reality and what you would like to be true. But you haven't got the slightest clue and if anything it is crystal clear that you allow your hatred and bigotry to color your thinking. So any conclusion you arrive at but isn't directly a result of facts or the like is going to be Highly Questionable. I would say there's enough evidence to suggest he's narcissistic and possibly sociopathic to a degree but the rest of it is stuff you're making up because you don't like him and you want to justify that. Nobody would argue that, but I'm more importantly these are the things he ran on. And again you can't call Amanda con man or say he's acting in bad faith if he says he's going to do a thing and then he does the thing. Again, you have no idea what his motivations are. You create fake ideas of his motivation to justify your position, your position is not created from actual knowledge of his motivation. One thing that does seem to monsterbly true is that he likes other people and the public in general to think he's really really great. It would stand to reason that if he wants to be seen as a great leader that he is doing the things that he honestly believes is great leadership. That doesn't mean he's not wrong, it doesn't mean his leadership actually IS great, and it certainly doesn't mean that even if it is good that his reasons are altruistic. But there's a little doubt that he genuinely wants to be seen by the people and history as one of the great leaders who forged a new America etc etc. I have no doubt that he will also use the position to further his own interests and line his pockets, just like every single president before him. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't genuinely want America to be more successful. I have not been timid in offering my belief that his methods will not have a positive outcome over time. But I genuinely think he thinks it will. And he might be right, time will tell. He certainly does have a lucky streak in his life and considering his track record I'm not excited about betting against him at this point I mean this is a guy who lost an election, was investigated and blamed for an uprising trying to overthrow the results, was attacked night and day legally, got convicted of a felony, and still somehow managed to come back and win the next election handily. I would have said that would be impossible as well before it happened. So we'll have to see how his strategies play out but if you're basing your argument on your interpretation of his motivations I'd say that you're probably walking the wrong path. And the whole 2025 thing is just silly, regardless of whether trump's ideas are good or bad or criminal or genius, they are his own. May god have mercy on our souls -
This kind of flooding is rare. historically anyway. LIke a one in 60 years event. But it's a very very warm wet year and we had very heavy rain fall and the temps went up so the snow on the mountains started to melt, and here we go again. They say that moving forward there will probably be more periods of heavy rain in the future than in the past.

LOL i accept your admission of defeat Always amusing to see you roll over and show your belly like that 100 percent true, and i note that once again you can't refute any of it Awww crying again little guy? I already accepted your admission of defeat earlier

They are certainly going to offer anything that anybody wants that's for sure. And if they have someone lined up they will ask them to cross the floor shortly before the conservative convention and leadership review. It would be devastating to Pierre not only lose another person, But also to lose the minority. And on top of it all it would mean 4 to 5 years before the next election so people would be a lot quicker to replace poilievre knowing that they had time. It's exactly the kind of move you'd expect from Carney. So we'll see if he succeeds.
-
No doubt. The kind of losers who suggest this isn't an issue are just scumbags who aren't worth listening to. The problem is even the liberals admit this is a problem but they don't actually do what they're supposed to to mitigate the problem. Everybody looks at the reports and says hey, we need to stop this we should do this, and the liberals are like yeah yeah we should really do that one day. Eventually. Down the road. Which suggests they know that they are benefiting from the Chinese interference. Important side note, carney went to china while he was representing Trudeau's government to the Chinese and also came back with a half a billion dollar loan for Brooksfield which they used to fund musk's takeover of twitter. So Carney has deep ties with the Chinese already
-
This has got nothing to do with Paulie ever or the arrival of trump There are always a handful of people who will be bribed by money and power more than ethics or a duty to serve. This guy was going off only a couple of days ago about how absolutely horrible and terrible and evil carney and liberals were. His opponent in the election who was a liberal suggest that he should be turned over to china for the bounty and carney stood up for that guy and said it was no big deal. But they've offered him a massive amount of benefits, which is illegal technically but you can bet they did, so he crossed the floor It's not unexpected. We've seen it happen to the liberals when the conservatives were in power, and we've seen it happen to the conservatives on the liberals were in power. I'm sure most of us remember Belinda Stronach. Barney have one more in his pocket to pull out just before pierre's leadership review? Because that would be fairly devastating
-
It's illegal to do so technically. But yes, essentially that's the way it works. There is an old saying that the worst day in government is still vastly better than the best day in opposition. They will be offered chances to sit on key committees, they'll be offered extra perks and benefits, there will probably be promises to support certain policies or the like that are important for that person's re-election, other things as well. And they will then have a direct voice in caucus, Which means they will have more power and more ability to get things done for their friends. And I have no doubt that they're told night and day that they will be hailed as a hero when they cross and that all of the other liberals will look up to them and listen to what they say etc It means vastly more money and vastly more power. You get paid for every of the Committees that you sit on or participate in etc and when you leave politics if you have been in government because you know the right people and have the relationships you are highly sought after by the private sector just as Christina Freeland is now making a multi-million dollar a year job while also serving for $800,000 a year as Canada's rebuilding ambassador to Ukraine Yeah but they're stuck with mark carney as one, so they have to throw in a whole bunch of extra perks and money to make it fly
-
It's always a threat every year but honestly for most of the area it's manageable most years. 4 years ago we had the bad one which was definitely out of the ordinary, and this one threatens to be almost similar although not as bad. And it's only been 4 years. We are supposed to get more rain next week and it's going to be problematic, but hopefully not as bad as it was in 2021. And it's really hard for them to build up dykes enough on our side of the border. We will see what happens but the Americans have been very resistant to putting money into their side of the border to get it fixed. And obviously this is going to keep happening moving forward so bC has got to think of something to improve our side of things as well

I thought you said he was doing what he was told. You're having a little trouble keeping your story straight here Now we're back to the original one, nobody feeds trump anything on a platter. You can influence a little here and there maybe but at the end of the day trump does what trump thinks his best and nothing he's doing now is different than what he ran on. No project 2025 necessary And again, nobody trails trump what to do. Trump tells other people what to do. For better or for worse his ideas are his own It is the dumbest thing in the universe to suggest Donald Trump of all people is someone who can be told what to do and he just does it I thought you said he was in it because miller and Vaught were telling him what to do? This is just a joke. You're making a complete ass of yourself. Trump is a known commodity. The one thing you can absolutely guarantee about him is he is not ever going to do what someone else tells him to do. People can put ideas in his head they can make an argument they can suggest things, same as everybody else with everybody else. But more than any human on the face of the earth trump is someone who His marches to the sound of his own drum and does not do what other people tell him. -
You keep wishing i was a pedophile, but i've told you i'm just not interested in you, kiddo. I prefer adults and women, you'll have to find a gay guy (preferably one your own age) to date you. Oh...and the begging is a little weird too I accept your admission of defeat

Well you're not wrong, the fact is a decade is probably optimistic. It's not like we're starting from zero, we're actually in the hole a fair bit. Before we can even start what you suggested we would have to change Canada to the point where large amounts of investment money would be willing to come back and even that alone may take close to a decade. We would have to start building from there and another decade or so later it would be as you say. But there's nothing to bridge that two or three decade gap, and without that people will never stay focused long enough to achieve the end goal. They're not going to want to give up all of their benefits to make our deficits reasonable anytime soon. They're not going to want to smash the unions or stop bringing in hordes of immigrants and refugees etc etc You're right, i just don't see any reasonable or viable path from where we are and where you suggested going given the time and sacrifice it would take. No gov't would initiate something that won't pay off for 3 more terms. And right now, we're still walking in the other direction away from the right solution, and god knows how far away we'll be when THAT stops. If careny gets another floorcrosser and gets his majority, then 5 years from now we're going to be in such an incredible disaster of a position that recovery may simply not even be realistically possible. At least not within 100 years or so. Look at argentina, once as strong as us and then they fell the same way exactly we have under trudeau and now martin

LOL - you mean "stop hurting me, i'm crying already!" It's not a good look to beg someone like that just because you know they're right and can't make an argument. LOL my ego has nothing to do with it kiddo, as i've told you a trillion times you're the comic relief And it's not like you have to keep posting here. And yes Carney's in charge. Sometimes the bad guys win, that's' quite true.
-
If you really believe that you wouldn't feel the need to call them names Obviously they scare you and you know that there's a good chance they're going to knock the liberals out in the near future. I can't blame you, I wouldn't have a lot of faith in carney either. He kind of sucks If it's any consolation to you so that you can sleep at night I'm sure that the liberals are out right now offering any amount of gold and treasure necessary to talk one more person into leaving. If they get that they are sort of okay and will have a technical majority
-
No, sadly mitigation is quite limited. This is already being brought up as a bone of contention, it's like we learned nothing from 2021. I mean in some respects there's only so much you can do, the river that's flooding is in the American side of the border not ours. And all that land is supposed to be underwater, the royal engineers drained it back in the day and we still have a massive pump station complex to keep it dry. That pump station hasn't been upgraded in forever and can't keep up with the flood waters. I think a lot of the people learned their lesson from last time and there's been a major effort to get animals and machinery to higher ground. But there's nothing you can do about the homes. Last time we had the bad flood people were literally showing up with boats to go get the cows out. and in a lot of cases it was too late. So it seems like we're better off this time or at least the farmers are. It's bad. There's no doubt. But we'll get through it as soon as always

Sure because trump is a complete push over with no will of his own LOLOLOL jeez dude, weakest agument EVER. Trump has never just done what he's told in his life. Even when it's a JUDGE telling him he does his own thing -
Trump is not mentally well

I see we're back to your usual attempts to misinterpret English when your argument itself is falling apart. It would not be possible to have a concern without some species of evidence that there was a reason to have a concern. Evidence is not proof. But it's an indication. if there was NO indication of a health problem then you wouldn't be concerned. In the example you provided the fact that I coughed and spat up blood would be evidence that there is a problem with my physical health. That is why you would be concerned. It doesn't mean that there is guaranteed a problem with my physical health, or that there isn't another explanation, but because it's evidence that they're is a problem you would have concerns until you were able to determine one way or another If there was absolutely no evidence of any physical health issue, you would have nothing to be concerned about Here's Merriam Webster: evidence 1 of 2 noun ev·i·dence ˈe-və-dən(t)s -və-ˌden(t)s Synonyms of evidence : an outward sign : indication evidence of an early spring I didn't accuse you of picking a fight with me, when you talk on an open form you're talking to everybody. If you just want to talk to one person take it to PM'S. As it is I'm going out of my way to make sure that I'm engaging you with reasons and arguments and not attacking you personally overmuch I don't think that's particularly true. Many a teenager has stayed up for hours talking to their friends on the phone for example. While the behavior may be a little unusual you would have to show some evidence as to why this is some sort of reason to believe there's a mental health issue. I'm not talking about one of your chat GPT searches You have to make a case Right now the case for they're being concerned over mental health issue is that your concerned over mental health issues, it's just circular logic. I can't help but feel if Biden did it you'd be trying to dismiss it. For me I look at it and think I can totally see trump with his obsessive Behavior staying up and making a whole crap ton of posts. I wouldn't consider it a sign of some species of new mental health issue that he had, I would just say that trump is a little weird that way and sometimes he obsesses over things and fixates. So again you'd have to make the case a little stronger. -
