  1. Right because people don't need "development" to live, who wants all those homes and businesses cluttering up the place, amiright? Sometimes i wonder what kind of head injury you need to have to think like you do. On a municipal level there's still quite a bit of left and right. Do we waste money on 'rainbow flag bike lane painting' to make gay bikers feel more included (seriously, real thing in vancouver) or do we focus spending on core concerns to keep taxes lower. How will homeless encampments be handled? Should "Safe injection" sites be allowed? etc etc.
  2. Definitely leaning right and the poles are definitely suggesting that. There's absolutely no doubt that a lot of people especially younger people are realizing that government policy is based on ideology rather than practical considerations leads to ruin. They're not only turning away from the liberals but they're also turning away from the NDP. If polievre can deliver for them and plays his cards right it could be a generation before people are fooled by the left again. The libs will have to go blue liberal to become relevant again and i'm not sure that anyone will be willing to risk even that for 2 elections for sure, probably 3.
  3. No, that's something that you personally have in common with Hitler but that's not what's being suggested here. Nobody is suggesting that the government dictate anything to business. But it's perfectly fine to put in some guidelines and boundaries and require them to operate within it Sorry, no dictatorship for you You'll have to keep trying.
  4. I see you're back to your usual game of trying to change the channel. My point was I wasn't talking about your typos or my typos. And here you are talking about typos. I use voice dictation and I don't always get the time to proofread before I move on to something else so occasionally I make errors and I assume that you do too. Nobody said anything different. Which is why i said i didn't have a problem with your typos or my typos, the problem was your argument. But unfortunately you're either too stupid or too dishonest to understand that very simple concept. Not surprising. And i see you're back to spamming the board with 100's of replies rather than just doing so once per person. I'll deal with your mess here in one reply: The united states is still not the entire rest of the world which is what you tried to drag into the conversation. Nobody cares enough about you to care where you were born or where you're living now. And you were responding to my post not the original post so it's not really relevant what the original post said is it. Nice try it deflection though. Trans have their rights in Canada in the US, every bit as much as everyone else and they are certainly able to refer to themselves however they like so your attempts to pretend otherwise are a joke. And your dishonesty is factual, not derogatory. However the end of the day you have been insulting in many ways. But you think it's okay to be insulting as long as you feel the insult is acceptable. But if somebody insults you then well that's terrible. You're being insulted because you are being an insufferable and insulting twit. Do better and you'll get insulted less. But don't be insulting jerk and then complain about other people being insulting Your dismissal of people's argument as transphobic just because you cannot come up with a counter argument is both pathetic and a great example of how you like to insult people but somehow when you do it it's not an insult! Magic! And if you want to refer to the fact that nobody is buying you or complete and utter bullshit which you cannot make a rationed argument about as having reached an impasse then sure. Why not. The simple fact of the matter is you don't get to explain anything. If you want to make a statement you need to be able to defend that with logic and reason and you have utterly failed to do so. You seem to want us to agree that you are right just because you said you were right while at the same time completely ignoring the arguments that are made demonstrating that you are not right. If you can't address other people's points and simply insist that you're right and stomp your foot when others don't agree then I'm afraid you're going to have to learn to live with impasses in your life. The fault there is on you for not being able to make a good argument, not with others for not agreeing with your lack of argument. And of course I know that tranny is a word that is often thought of as derogatory. CIS is often thought of as derogatory and it's certainly used in that way. Yet for some reason you are deeply offended if somebody says tranny, but if somebody suggests that you shouldn't be using the word cis You laugh and blow them off and tell them that their opinions and feelings are not relevant. Dude. You are a dishonest person making a dishonest argument and you are a complete and utter hypocrite. That and that alone is why you are getting nowhere in your discussions with other people. Of course people who actually think are going to hold you in contempt I look down on you and your arguments. I don't know what your goal in coming here was, but if it was to severely torpedo the transgender movement and convince a bunch of people that sympathy and empathy towards the transgender community is misplaced because this is a hostile relationship and trannies will never respect your rights, then well done. Because that is indeed what you have achieved
  5. Obviously only time will tell but it's worth noting that after the last Trudeau left people feeling a similar way the conservatives ran on good fiscal management for two terms and correction only one because he promised to out conservative the conservatives. Also this dragged on for a long time. Usually what happens is people don't think about politics too much until an election and then they decide they really don't like the incumbent and they're going to get rid of them. So the entire amount of time they spend is liking him isn't that big and generally it doesn't run that deep. In this case it's a little different. People have been getting more and more angry with him as time goes on, the frustration level is through the roof and it's been that way for quite a while and the most frustrated are the younger people who've been that way for well over a year. They blame the liberals for their situation and have for quite some time. And even after the libs are gone the damage will continue to affect their lives for a while. So i think that'll be burnt into their brains a little more than normal. They'll probably have bad memories of this for quite some time. Eventually they'll move to the right and try to claim that somehow they're the party of fiscal responsibility but if PP plays his cards right he might well get three wins out of it before it's over for him.
  6. AND all the ar's with those things which had been sold already were still in circulation. It's not like they had a buy back or anything.
  7. Sure, which was the state they were in before they took the job. If they wanted to immigrate then it go through the normal immigration process, if they just want to work for a company in America for a little while then go work for that company for a little while and when you're done go home. It's like renting a car and then being mad that you have to give it back when you're done with it If you mean musk, he's not elected to anything. If you mean trump, I think he cares about the average person an awful lot more than the average democrat does and more importantly doesn't pretend that he cares more than he actually does. I mean sure every single politician plays to the audience but i think trump genuinely wants to see the middle class prosperous and happy on their own.
  8. No, donald is one person and his name is Donald. Everybody else is their own person and they have their own beliefs and their own thoughts and they probably don't agree with Donald every single time he says something. But it's very left wing of you to try and dehumanize people by suggesting that they are all just simply shadows of one person and not actual sentient people on their own. Right, right, anybody who disagrees with you is too stupid. It's not you, it's the rest of the herd that's crazy. By all means keep that up. I'm sure the republicans will enjoy having yet another easy victory in 4 years.
  9. City voters in Canada leaning right as they lose faith in their go-to political picks - The Globe and Mail Ruh roh. Even the last bastions of the libs and ndp are looking pretty shakey next election. Even liberal and ndp voters just staying at home will mean a number of urban CPC victories. People have realized, vote woke go broke.
  10. How is it the weekend already? I forgot it was drinkie night for you
  11. You're trying to make it sound as if MAGA Is all one person. That's just not the case. Some have problems with it and some don't. We're not some sort of monolith like the woke are where we all have to tow the same party line But I believe that It is widely perceived that the H-1B temporary work permit Has serious flaws and is open to significant abuse. And that's what the fight is largely over. Unscrupulous companies could misuse it, legitimate companies need it and it benefits them, and it can lead to problems either way. So, dispute. Such things happen when people are allowed a bit of freedom It'll get worked out over time.
  12. Even all of his money could not pay for enough therapy to unsee that
  13. LOL they didn't abandon anything in the slightest And of course it's about trudeau. If he was doing his job and actually dealing with this then others wouldn't feel compelled to try and salvage what they can. Smith's very clearly sided with Canada. The other two you're just lying about. I had hoped that once the trump election was over you might regain your senses in some degree and stop being a complete delusional tard. Sadly that does not seem to have been the case.
  14. No, he had you pegged with the authoritarian thing. First off it's not comparable, and frankly second off based on your own comments and actions here nobody for a moment believes you were captain of a ship in a dire emergency. And you have literally suggested that all political people should be made to wear body cams basically 24 hours a day just so that you can review the data to see whether or not they're making good deals in the name of transparency. All the while ignoring the bad dealing you already know about. That's pretty authoritarian. Your small little person who grossly over inflates their life experience to make a point about why authoritarianism is a great thing. It isn't
  15. I was going to point this out. Sometimes it's hard to determine whether or not @robosmith Thinks we're too stupid to see through that crap and catch his lies, or if he's just so stupid that he didn't realize he was being lied to in the first place.
  16. Caps tell us everything and you're really stupid to use them. Mind you you're not exactly bright when you don't. Back in your hole little whack-a-mole
  17. I know that you on the left believe firmly that repeating a lie makes it true. It does not Truest Fact is they don't have the confidence of the house and that has been said by the house in writing. The vote is the process which ends the existence of the current government via the governor general, but it is not the act that extinguishes the confidence of the house. Three party leaders, a majority of the seats in the house of parliament, have specifically stated they have no confidence in the current government. Therefore they do not have the confidence of the house. That's how that works. Hell, the current leader doesn't even have the confidence of the second in command and finance minister and she made that clear in her letter. They can't remove him until a confidence vote but that does not mean they have confidence in the gov't. His father knew that and had the decency to take his walk in the snow. If your hero had even a drop of decency he'd have already resigned or called an election. Instead he'll try to block the formal process for ending his government even tho he has been informed he does not have the confidence of the house by the other party leaders. Is there nothing you lefties won't lie about?
  18. All your proving is that there is no merit to your attempt to try and change the meaning of words. It's being done to suit a whim and for propaganda purposes. You're hardly the first person to want to change words for propaganda purposes but most people recognize that as being a pretty disgusting thing to do. Gobels is not well loved in history
  19. Oopsie, no bait and switches please The lack of progression of achievements on an established path does not mean that there aren't still recognizable qualifications. It just means that there may be different collections of qualifications which could result in the same thing. Those qualifications may be direct or even indirect. Kamala had no qualifications with whatsoever. And you know who else didn't think so? Democrats, when they shot her down for her run for the presidency in 2019 Each of trump's appointees has the experience and background to give him belief that they will be able to do the job he wants them to do. That is very different than Kamala
  20. Simple fact is they don't if they don't have the confidence of the house. That's the way our system works. The three major other parties have all indicated that they have no confidence in this government and wish for a vote to prove it. They have provided documentation to that effect. Until he disproves them by holding a vote and surviving it He has absolutely no mandate to govern Sorry pal. I know you're crying about the end of the woke era but sadly this guy has no mandate and no authority morally to lead the Canadian people. He should cease his confidence vote and either survive it or be done for resign. In any case what he will do is attempt to avoid that and shield himself from the reality by proroguing parliament. He is trash, his party is trash, the NDP is trash for propping up his trash party, and your trash for trying to protect him and defend his absolutely indefensible actions.
  21. I've already provided proof that that's inaccurate. So at this point you're just lying and making shit up. Very disappointing. Every now and then you show a spark that suggests you might be capable of reasonable thought but then your lefttard training kicks in and you resort to already disproven lies to try and fuel your delusions. Here's a reminder from this very thread Well as I have shown they actually tend to be higher earners than democrats. They tend to be more successful in life financially. Further, they seem to have better mental health. We've already on several occasions posted proof from several research studies that show that democrats of all ages and both sexes have significantly higher mental health issues and the young females are actually over 50% having been diagnosed with a mental health issue. So republicans tend to be happier, more mentally stable and successful. Sorry to burst your bubble And that is perhaps why they are more results driven LOL and we've seen that's factually untrue as well The opposite is true. Considering what his intentions are the picks for the most part are all people who will likely get the results he wants. Kid, you are so factually off base here and so driven by hatred and emotion rather than logic and data that is frightening. The very fact that you have to fabricate such obviously disprovable nonsense should be a gross warning sign to yourself that you know very well you're in the wrongattempting to argue based on your talking points and tribalism rather than your reason. Step back and do better
  22. I am, and more importantly parliamentary historians are. Our system was designed to be a confrontational rather than cooperative one. Which doesn't mean parties can't work together from time to time but it is not the job of the opposition to run the gov't. After being born here and living for well over half a century i know you're simply wrong. Sure, Erin O'toole did the same thing last election. And trudeau waited till Erin released it and basically stole everything from it and just added a bit. When erin promised a million dollars in housing spending, trudeau just said 1.2. Even the liberals in 1993 said afterwards the red book was probably a mistake. However - the important part is that both were introduced... wait for it.... DURING THE ELECTION. They were platform documents, not policy suggestions BEFORE the election. So at the end of the day you simply prove what i say to be true. People release their platforms during the election, not before. The handful of times people HAVE released it before the other guys have used that against them very effectively. And i'm also correct that the role of the opposition in between elections is ... perhaps unsurprisingly.... to oppose. Not to offer suggestions but to point out weaknesses so that the gov't can address them OR fail to and be replaced. That's like saying that the conservatives policy is to do better, everyone knows that. It's a glib answer that indicates that you realize that what you said was not correct and you can't defend it. Maybe you should look at taking on the conservatives platform yourself
  23. Your use of caps tells us you know you're wrong. You're kind of lying is what helped trump win his election
  24. Because that is absolutely 100% not how our system works. The government's job is to propose and then the opposition criticizes. The theory is that this will lead the government to strengthen its positions and improve its policy to be more resistant to criticism and therefore the country gets better policy. But this is not rule by committee. While opposition hardee's can bring legislation to the table if they feel that something has been grossly missed, by and large the policy is for the federal government to propose and enact. If you don't like it then you throw them out at the next election. During the election is when the parties come forward and say how they would handle things moving forward. And the parties are also judged on their performance, for the government on their performance for delivering the things that Canadians wanted, and the opposition is judged on whether or not they were correct and their criticisms given the results. It is absolutely against our entire system for the opposition to be coming forward and making suggestions about how to do things differently when it comes to policy. Yes. An election is a confrontational system whereby both parties compete. That is how the system is designed. And you absolutely do not give away your information before the election. No party does. Have you seen the NDP release their platform? No? How about the liberals? Where's their policy plans for the next 4 years? Pretty much non-existent. You announce your platform during the election. Is there currently an election in progress? No? Then what the hell are you whining about?
