  1. It is not an asymmetric conflict. The Palestinians and their Soviet-backed Arab cohorts fought wars in 1948, 1968, and 1972… and LOST. I think it’s pointless to get into the history, but there was war and the Palestinians lost the war. Germany lost WW II; you don’t whine about an “asymmetric conflict” between the U.S. and Germany because Germany lost. You should visit Israel and speak with Israelis. They have build a magnificent nation from nothing. The Palestinians have been suicide bombing and blowing up pizza parlors and school buses, and the Israelis are just plain sick of it. Hamas got billions to help their people and they spent it on tunnels and weapons for a war they could not possibly win. You did not answer the fundamental question of this thread: What are the borders that the Palestinians will accept? I can tell you that the Hamas borders are “from the river to the sea,” which means that all the Jews must be killed or deported. From the river to the sea is all the land, and that’s their slogan and their foolish proxies in the US chant it thinking they’re going to create peace by giving all the land to terrorists.
  2. Irrelevant. Anyone who commits a crime should be prosecuted. You can read the Trump indictments for yourself. They’re all public record and the prosecutors explain the crimes, list the evidence and state which laws were broken in commission of the crime. Donald Trump is currently facing 91 felony indictments, and it’s time for you to ask yourself: Why has this never happened before? If this is a “weapon,” why has no politician been charged so widely? And the answer is simple: Trump committed these crimes. He mentions lawbreaking all the time. He said he’d maybe remain President a third term, that he would be a dictator on his first day in office and so on. And you can either excuse it as joking or realize that a person who wants to be the most powerful man in the world shouldn’t joke about being a dictator and breaking laws.

  8. It’s not what I want. I think illegal immigration and refugee immigration is way, way out of hand. But that doesn’t mean we can ignore the US Constitution. “All persons born in the United States are citizens of the United States.” We don’t have to like it, but that is what it says. If you believe in changing that, fine. But don’t try to work with politicians who are lying to you. Don’t you understand? It’s not about what “the libs” want to do, it’s what the US Constitution says, in black and white. If you want to amend the US Constitution, it will take a bi-partisan effort, not this, “Those evil libs are trying to destroy everything everywhere nonsense.” Kinda doesn’t get bipartisanship to work, does it? I would probably agree with making the change, but start out by understanding that the US Constitution clearly says what it says.

And you have utterly no idea how incredibly stupid that makes you look. Read the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. That’s where birthright citizenship is established. Section 1: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” As a civics lesson to you: Pay attention to how this text distinguishes persons from citizens. I’m not a constitutional scholar; but I’m pretty sure that the whole “within its jurisdiction” thing pertains to Indian territories and foreign ambassadors and nobody else.

  14. Trump’s repeated claim is that he has “Absolute Immunity” from all criminal prosecution for any act he committed while he was President. The claim is not backed up by any law or the Constitution. While DoJ POLICY is not to prosecute a sitting President, it is only a policy and could be changed at any time by the AG.

Isreal is the only functioning democracy in the Mideast. These Islamic terrorist groups aren’t trying to build democracies. Look at all the Islamic states, like Afghanistan, Iran, Qatar… are they making their people free? Are people free to speak or worship or learn whatever they want? They aren’t after a better world, they only want a better world for themselves .

  17. I’m afraid I have to disagree. The most obvious case is Iran. It is an Islamic Republic (their name, not mine). Their supreme leader is a religious leader. And they are sponsors of terrorism. They don’t just supply AK-47’s, they’re providing the rockets that Yemeni rebels fire at Saudi Arabia and now, at US warships. People used Christianity to justify centuries of warfare, they used it to justify slavery and the persecution of the American Indian. But while Christianity has greatly evolved, major, nation-wide swaths of Islam have not evolved. I should point out that this is all the more reason to hasten our transition to alternative energy, because oil funds terrorism.

  19. We agree that there is a serious Islamist terrorism problem, and that Iran sponsors much of it. But I don’t think it’s the religion itself. There are religious extremists in every religion. Islam has it the worst by far, but I blame the bad people, not the philosophy itself.
  20. I hope we can all agree that Islamic terrorism is a real and actual threat. But there are one billion Muslims in the world, and the terrorists are a sub-percentage of that. Your mistake is that you are equating the religion of Islam with terrorism. That would be the same as saying that all Christians are terrorists. After all, the KKK claimed to be acting as agents of God, so did Eric Rudolph when he murdered an abortion doctor. I’m sure you’ll agree that the terrorist activities that a few people committed in the name of Christianity don’t mean that all Christians are terrorists, right?
  21. Total estimated casualties of the Libyan Civil War are 15,000. Estimated casualties of the Iraq War range from 150,000 to 400,000. Israel does not benefit from needlessly killing civilians, although maybe the knuckleheads who were dancing in the streets rejoicing after the October 7 massacres might think twice about how wise that was. Now, I have posed a simple question to you in another thread: Where is the map? Where are the boundaries which the Palestinians will accept as a permanent and peaceful resolution of this conflict?
  22. If illegal aliens are not subject to U.S. jurisdiction, how can they be illegal? I understand what you WANT, I’m only confused because the Constitution says what it says whether we like it or not.
  23. The isolated incidents of minor voter fraud impacted repubs and Dems equally and weren’t remotely close to sufficient to overturn the results of the election. It’s mostly cases of people casting ballots for their nursing home-bound parents and the like; it was illegal but, inconsequential.
