Why would the economy tank? It costs money to build windmills and solar power plants. But, it also costs money to build gas turbines and coal plants. Once built, the gas turbine and coal plants require continual fuel. The windmills and solar panels do not. Ever. These plants can be built nearly anywhere, and they provide clean electricity without fuel.

Whether that plant is gas, coal, solar or wind, you have a large capital cost to build it, and you must maintain it. But the fuel costs of geothermal, solar and wind are zero. Further, solar and wind can be added in much smaller increments than any other form. One panel or one windmill at a time. That’s a far less capital intensive method that building massive new coal or gas turbines.

“Climate” is not “the weather.” Climate “change” can mean severe temperature swings in both directions and more severe storms, which we have clearly witnessed. Much of Southeast Asia, including India, has rapidly transitioned to electric motorbikes and scooters, which are the dominant form of vehicle transportation, for many reasons (cheaper, easier to drive through congested streets, shorter average trip lengths, more temperate climate). This transition has already reduced petroleum consumption dramatically in many of these nations. These regions are especially good regions for solar and wind power generation as well. However, simply transitioning transportation from gasoline to electric reduces carbon output and cleans the air.. Have you ever studied any kind of science? It seems very doubtful.
