Where did you get this saying? Everything we believe is a belief! My challenge was to name something besides God that you believe because of an argument, like Aquinas’ proofs, and not based on empirical evidence?

Why would one be dependent on the other? Unverified ballots aren’t counted. Do you even know how mail in ballots work? Or are you repeating talking points from losing politicians?

Thats what you would choose…. I asked about your momma. You don’t get to choose for others. If your mother chose MAID would you abandon her to die alone? Hold a crucifix to her face and berate her for choosing how she was going to die?

Are you really in a position to judge someone’s pain and judge their palliative treatment? If you think you are in that kind of position, you’re simply an awful human being. My mother would choose for herself. I would be there to hold her hand as she floated away to heaven. Would you abandon your own mother, or berate her on her death bed, if she chose MAID?

That’s not the goal. Try not to get caught up in “slippery slope” arguments that don’t happen.

I’m sorry your brother went through that. Your post is a good reminder that we’re posting about humans who are truly suffering and want to have options to end their own suffering if it becomes unbearable for them. For anyone to tell someone they have to suffer is inhumane.

I’ve never heard a cogent argument as to why it shouldn’t be easier to vote. Did you like the fact that Elections Canada goes to hospitals to assist people in voting?

Absolutely right. Truckers won’t be able to block city streets any longer. When is the last time you heard of mass protests in Canada by environmental activists?

Unfortunately, I didn’t make the world we live in. The only solution to all those things you mentioned is to kill myself. You’ve told me that’s a sin, so here I am…. stuck trying to get governments to change the world for the better. Should cigarette companies be allowed to tell you that smoking is good for you? Is that free speech?

I like laws against disinformation by large corporations. I would call it the “Be Honest or Shut the Fuc# up” bill.

Have you ever heard of voting by mail in the USA? Even I have and I don’t live there. “Getting to the polls” isn’t the only way to vote.

If he doesn’t win, he will be in jail for quite some time. If he wins, there will be a new constitutional crisis when he fires the guy prosecuting him and then pardons himself. Whether he wins or not is still 50/50, imo.

I think most people would acknowledge that systemic racism has played a part in it, even your fellow conservative poster a few posts above. Those who don’t are denying reality, in my opinion, like climate change deniers, flat earthers, etc.

Probably. It’s similar to any reconciliation of past wrongs. The current people are the ones to pay the restitution for past wrongs.

We probably agree on this. Except we already agreed that it did happen, even if it may not be happening now. So you don’t think the government should try and fix what took place in the past? Hypothetically, if there is still a 20% unbalance (too many white men) due to past discrimination, should they not try and rectify that? Not by firing those who benefitted from the discrimination but by hiring the ones who were discriminated against for jobs that open up.
