Steak at Co-Op (not known for great prices) was as much as $20/kg less than the local MoreOn Foods outlet, cut & packaged by an actual meatcutter rather than some immigrant scab in Alberta. 6 pkg of donuts here was 'featured' for $7.49 (regular 4 to a pack for $4.99 plus tax applied on less than 6). Was thinking inflation was only 125% a year in my town until I bought a bacon&egger, small black coffee and a turnover and got a couple dime coins back from a ten spot. Listened to CNC radio about the amazing fact that people steal more with self checkouts and the number of dupes calling in supporting them as they're so convenient.... got me to thinking: What's the difference between using a self checkout and scabbing? Scabs get paid to steal another worker's job...

Not pointing fingers at any vet on the forum, nor critisizing anyone who served. Just people who are out there and I have heard that meet those categories. There is no current threat more guns will solve, so that's why the priority is low at the moment. Not an excuse for not maintaining what we do have.

I for once tend to agree with Groot. Most of us don't want or see the need for much of an armed forces. And the people who did serve we don't like are those who think peacekeeping was a lesser function, glory seekers, and those that think because they did serve they're somehow more of a Canadian than ones that didn't.

There are some extremes in every group of people. I've been told East Indian jokes by East Indian people and laughed with them. They're self deprecating at worst. As well as Native jokes from native people. Heard many from "white" people that were insulting and disgusting. I will repeat those over beers with "insert your choice of race" instead of a specific derogatory name. Some people have absolutely no sense of humour at all and think they're woke others like a friend of mine who insists on doing every 'redneck' thing and joke cuz he thinks its funny.
