No but it goes with the nonsense that giving natives an opportunity is denying themselves something. Jeez, I've had 3 consecutive S African doctors too. They seem to like this part of BC. Had a couple Indian doctors, one from the Caribbean the whole town liked. Apparently we're getting our first indigenous one when the new hospital opens who grew up here and has been working elsewhere. Let's all snivel and whine how much tax money was wasted to accomplish an awful thing like that, shall we?

Kamala Harris has her priorities straight

Yet your use of proves you're no more than a drooling tool with only a vocabulary of catchphrases and dogwhistles to show your brain's been starved of oxygen but not clinically dead yet. Too damn true. -

Yeah they do. You should try to get an education too. -
Oh FFS you keep screaming about how they're dependent on govt funding while opposing settlements that would allow them to earn revenue from resource extraction on their own territory. Complaining about arrangements to hire their own people to work in them as discrimination against YOU.... The current obligations were laid out a hundred years before you were even born and protected in the Constitution, so f*cking deal with it. Get on with it and help to make it work equitably, which is what reconciliation is all about. Admitting to a botched past and trying to fix things.

On the contrary. Son of WAC Bennet was too chickenshit to do as his father did in fear of being labelled socialist. Began the rush to privatize and sell off things. The Zalm was even worse. Welfare cuts, PST hikes So was Campbell giving away the railway, thwarted in his attempt to sell off the power lines, MSP hikes. Christie Clark was 'too liberal' for asking that BC receive any benefit whatsoever from pipelines. But all of them were not so stupid to end the ALR or hand off the revenue pool that is ICBC. All could only get involved in mega projects no one would call socialist. THEN -no doubt skytrains, Coq & Sea2Sky highways, dams and ferry expansion would condemned as socialism by today's pseudo-conservatives. Kind of like the Yanks peeing into the wind about 'socialized medicine" when they're the only ones that don't have it.

October 2024 Confidence Vote -BQ/OAP
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Consider that we can only do one thing at a time is a main failure of conservative thinking. We sure as hell won't "fix" anything by cutting back or lowering taxes on the wealthy. -
Oh FFS the discussion on the subject has devolved into !diocy. Oaths of fealty like peasants on GOT and people who don't realize the British Empire has been merely a "Commonwealth Club" since that 1970s concluding that does is a Nazi sympathizer. Close it and lock the thread, Godwin territory has been achieved.

I am rubber you are glue! I know you are but what am I? The only response the typical pseudo-conservative can come up with. I live among them, dealt with them commercially, socially and politically and in family. so "I" must be the liar and ignorant of the subject. Get back in your concrete box and pray your elevator doesn't break Mr. Expert. Most of them have and do. But you forget, that was what we promised them - that they don't have to. And know why many of us opposed Meech Lake? It recognized Quebec as a 'distinct society' and ignored the real distinct society completely. Didn't even register in the f*cking politicians minds...

October 2024 Confidence Vote -BQ/OAP

Opposed to pharmacare, dentacare, child care and school lunches and consider others small minded? I suppose cheap, petty, and selfish have become virtues like lying to today's pseudo-conservatives. -

And as the initial part of their pharmacare plan is now law, the NDP is unlikely to see it immediately dumped by the Tories. Shouldn't call them Tories anymore, now they're the CPC Conservative Pricks Conservatives. -
Same reason someone wold carve a mountain into ugly Presidents faces. To belittle what came before them. Just like how no matter how many times JT expresses support for Israel to defend itself and how Hamas must release the hostages, some people will lie though their teeth that he didn't and claim that as weakness, simply because they're jerks that hate JT's guts. Just as south of us the same sort of people say the same thing about Biden repeatedly.

Harris Camp Can't Do Nothin' Right
herbie replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
When the alternative is a demented old con man, if they can walk and chew gum at the same time they should be leading by 40 points in the polls. In a sane country. -
Oh the whole discussion about oaths is irrelevant. More so when sworn to as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Cadet, or even as an adult before 1982 when the monarchy shit meant Canada. That's the part that makes you a loyal citizen. To a country where you're able to disagree, even because you're a bleeding imbecile, to assemble and protest freely. Throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at id!ots that cheer for Hamas, burn the flag and chant Death to Canada. Stop whining that they should make it illegal if you won't even risk a whack on the peepee to show your disapproval.

And the bulk of complaints about lack of govt transparency stems from the misguided belief of individuals who think their personal opinion is more valuable than it is. You nominate a candidate who you think can express and enact the values you hold and they're supposed to act on your behalf. Which almost all of the do. The complaints stem from that you aren't going to get all that you want all of the time, or that the party that did win does not represent the majority of you values. The basis of parliamentary democracy is that a group of individuals will make better decisions more often than a single individual and a majority of individuals gets to choose that group. And to repeat a previous claim, if you seriously think the govt can engage in serious hidden conspiracies, you know nothing about govt. You hear of scandals and backroom deals simply because of the press and those elected members and their staff. I agree steps can be taken like STV reform to make majority elections more real, etc. But YOU don't get to choose a Gripen over an F35 - that's supposed to be done by a group with more knowledge. You should and will hear of bribes and collusion on decisions like that. So I object to throwing the word transparency about without defining exactly what the user means by it.
