  1. If Boeing is having to eat 2.5 billion to build the new aircraft, how much are they going to charge to convert this flying palace.
  2. That’s still no reason to spend 100’s of millions on an ego trip because the aircraft that were good enough for every president since Bush senior aren’t good enough for president Bone Spurs. BTW, the existing aircraft are the same age as his personal B757, that he rides around in when he isn’t prez.
  3. Boeing now says the new aircraft will be delivered in 2027. The terms of the contract requires Boeing to absorb all cost overruns in excess of the original contracted price of 3.6 billion for both aircraft. Trumps ego trip will add another billion or so to the replacement cost.
  4. The Boeing ones are being built anyway because they need two. This will be a very expensive unnecessary third.
  5. So what? Parliament's are prorogued regularly and this was a better reason than most. Harper prorogued Parliament to stop the Liberals and NDP forming a coalition which would have overthrown his government.
  6. I don't give a fat f*ck what Trump does with the airplane, I just know it is an ego exercise that is going to cost tax payers a shit load of money. If you are fine with that, it's on you.
  7. Bullshit, I gave you a link. When I was flying contract in Alaska in the mid nineties one of the other guys was an ex AF1 pilot. The only thing we ever got out of him was how hard it was to do inflight refuelling in an aircraft weighing over 300 tons. Anything else was, "I can't tell you".
  8. The equipment required to be AF1 is either documented or secret. The reason Boeing is having so much trouble completing the two new ones is because of that. These are not normal B747-8's anymore than the existing aircraft are normal B747-200's. But hey, you believe Trump must have his golden palace to ride around in whether it meets the specification required or not and then stuck in his museum. Try a little honesty yourself for a change.
  9. It will take years and close to a billion dollars to get that aircraft up to AF1 standards. Then you think it is fine to just stick it Orange Man's museum. Then it will take millions more to get it to Orange Man's museum, unless they build it at an airport .You are a pathetic joke. Do you really think this makes Trump look good to anyone but his cult?
  10. Fine, it's your tax money. The Great Leader needs a new plane for his museum. The Great Leader must have what he wants. Says his cult.
  11. It is for his personal use. He uses it while he is president and it goes with him when he leaves. Whether he uses it as an aircraft or just a fixture at his library is irrelevant. It's for him. It sure as hell isn't for the country.
  12. It's always been my argument, it's just money that's going to be pissed up against a wall for Trump's ego. I really don't care what he does with it but he accepted it with consulting anyone as to its feasibility so it's his problem. This is all about him.
  13. So the US taxpayer is going to pony up close to a billion dollars for a fixture at Trump's library. And you Id*ots have the nerve to point at others wasting public money. What a bunch of effing hypocrites.
  14. Finally glad you are admitting that you just want Trump as a dictator. The difference is the people didn't spend 100's of millions just to convert an aircraft to become a museum piece to glorify one man. The difference between you and I is that I know the difference between public and private property while when it comes to Trump there is no difference in your mind. Ethical behaviour is just woke to the Trump Cult.
  15. It is a callsign, used by the USAF for its aircraft the president is on. No they do not get to decide the future of assets. The Statue of Liberty was also a gift to the US from a foreign country, why shouldn't a president be able to claim that for their library? There is no difference.
  16. Yes, it is an airforce aircraft for use by a sitting president, he doesn't get to decide its future.
  17. Airforce 1 is a US Airforce aircraft to be used by the sitting president. That is why it is called Airforce 1 and not President 1 or Trump 1.
  18. If it is just for his use as president to be put on display when he leaves office, it is for his personal use and the hundreds of millions spent on it to bring it up to AF1 standard will be wasted. If it is to be used by future presidents there may be a justification for it. If Boeing is having trouble sourcing some of the components required to complete the two new ones, why would it be any easier to get them for this aircraft? There is no guarantee the conversion of this one will be finished by the time he leaves office. What then? If the aircraft is really owned by the airforce it isn't his choice to take it with him, it belongs to the people of the US. You keep saying it doesn't belong to him and then you say he can do what he wants with it. Make up your f*cking mind. Maybe JT should have been able to take the new exec A330 when he left office. What's the difference?
  19. It is for him to use as president and put in his library when he is out of office. It is a gift to him, personally or at least he thinks it is. If it wasn't, it would continue to be used as AF1 after he left office and any decision to put it in a presidential library when it is retired would be made by Congress, not a president like he owns the thing. Everything you have said is just an excuse for Trump's grift.

  21. Taking a gift from a foreign government and spending $100's of millions of tax dollars so it can be fitted for your personal use and put in a museum in your name when you leave office is not an ego trip. You really have OD'd on the Kool Aid. You are too far gone to have a rational discussion.
  22. Purely for his benefit and ego. No you didn't. None of those things were for their personal benefit. They got nothing out from them. This aircraft is nothing but a Trump ego trip. The existing aircraft may be old but they are very low time compared to ones in airline service and perfectly serviceable until the new ones arrive. You will justify any sleezy thing Trump does. You have no standards whatsoever when it comes to that man. He can do anything he wants and you will blindly go along with it. In future, don't complain about government waste because you will justify of condemn it based purely on partisanship.
