Canada only has 28k soldiers in it's army

We cannot defend ourselves alone from all threats and that is true of most NATO countries. That's why we need allies and if you want allies, you have to be able to offer something that contributes to their security as well as your own. CdnFox should leave Canada then and not sponge off those who would be forced to defend him as well as themselves. Same goes for health care and every social program. Why would defence be any different. -
1. Ban Muslim what? 2. when did he float Iran 6 billion? Trump cancelled nuclear agreement with Iran, who then went from having almost no materials that would enable them to build a bomb to now having enough for at least three. 3: who is he turning his back on? Trump and his cult want to abandon Ukraine. Biden is trying to get Israel to show some restraint and for that you brand him a war monger. 4: Trump kills Iranian general and you guys accuse Biden of being a war monger.

Service for men is mandatory once Swiss men reach the age of majority. Women can volunteer for any position in the Swiss military. Ah, Quebec. Switzerland has four official languages yet conscription has overwhelming support. So yes, Canadian entitlement. -

I was paying attention. All you do is quote gospels. Name one woman who had anything to do with writing any of them. -

So your objections are religious, nothing to do with ability. Not surprised. -

Around a million women served in rhe Red Army during WW2 doing every job from sniper to fighter pilots. Some of their most celebrated snipers were women. Many more women fought as partisans in occupied countries. Women warriors have been part of many cultures over history in Africa, the Vikings, Mongols and others. -

If you are unable to work alongside women without abusing them, you are the problem. -

No need to be extreme. No one is trying to sell that to anyone. Finland has one of the most powerful militaries in Europe with a population the size of BC. Surely we can find something between what we have now and your hysterical trillion dollars. Conscription is regarded as a good thing in many countries. In 2013, Switzerland had a referendum on abolishing conscription. 73% voted to keep it. -

We can’t compare in strength but we can compare commitment. -

We will never make the same level of commitment as the US but it doesn't hurt to point out the disparity. -

The US population is 8.4 times that of Canada. If our military was 8.4 times larger, it would still be a million short of the US's 1.4 million regular military members. -

You mean like all the Scandinavian countries, Finland and Switzerland? Good old Canadian sense of entitlement. We have a right to be defended. By someone else -

I wonder what our emissions would be if we had to manufacture ourselves, all the stuff we buy from China. -

WW1 was one of the results of the Franco Prussian war which also ended Napoleon III's reign. There was a period of peace because there was no dominant power on the European continent between the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte and the rise of a unified Germany. Britain was a maritime power with a small army compared to continental countries that was mostly built for colonial duties. No Western European country has been attacked by an outsider since the formation of NATO because it commits them to defend each other if one of them is attacked. This is the major difference between European NATO and the complicated alliances that resulted in countries being sucked into WW1. -

No they didn’t. There was just a vacuum between the fall of Napoleon and the rise of Prussia and a united Germany. Crimean War. Prussian Austria war, Franco Prussian War.
