War is the manifestation of weakness. The paradox of war is that the adversary will always move against your weak side. Read some sun tzu, the art of war. It's been around you know like a couple thousand years... we humans haven't change that much... We just have better tools to kill each other with. Look before you get an aneurysm, my point is this. Deterrence is the best defense and you do not deter war by being weak. You invite war. In fact, it's the weak's country fault for war to begin with. Not the the "bully's" fault for taking your lunch its your in ability to deter/defend your own lunch that is at fault. It's the appeasement policy of the 30's that lead up to world war 2. Ever since we Americans created nukes, the world have been in relative peace ever since. Weakness invites conflict. War is the last resort. But if there is one you must win it savagely , brutally and quickly so that they never have the capacity to strike at you again.

Anyways, apologies to the OP, I've seem to be distracted by defending America against accuser who ludicrously thinks we're turning into a nazis. To save face and resolve this trade disagreement one of two things will happen. Either Trump decides to drop tariffs out of good will allowing people to save face or as you eloquently put , Canada and the EU must Unilaterally adopt free trade. Canada has however decided to adopt the same protectionist trade with other countries except the US and attempt to diversify it's trade portfolio. This will hurt Canadians in the short term but how it will play out in the future remains to be seen.

Recognize that if Steve Jobs was not around, some one else would take his place. Plenty of others to exploit the opportunities we have here in America.

The biggest violators are restauraunts and that's what ICE have been doing we have been cracking down on violators. But this is only half the battle, you also need to make it harder for people to come here by adopting policies that would deter it. Sanctuary cities only encourages more immigration. Adopting more illegal immigration friendly policies would only make the issue worse. I think there is something else in the fine details of this trade agreement that they were stumbling over, some sticking point like you have pointed out with the agriculture and communications cartel .
