    Sure, that’s the American national interest to defend itself. There’s no conflict there with scripture. I take the Augustinian and Aquinas view; War is permitted in limited context to bring about peace and not celebrated. I genuinely believe this, especially towards Canadian, I don’t view Canada as a foreign nation, I already consider you all North Americans. Thus shall I love my neighbor like my self. And that means… tough love.

    implies long term. Russia is going away this century and so will the Chinese. India is a longer term potential threat. Potential asIndia for it's part has been mostly insular. Russia's navy is impotent and Chinese navy doesn't have legs.
