Alberta Referendum & Pierre Trudeau
paxamericana replied to August1991's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Alberta has two option should secession succeed. 1) Negotiate a better trade deal as an independent country than it current has as a province . 2) Join the US, in which case it would still be a net contributer to uncle sam coffer but not as severe as it would be as a province currently. This is before the added benefit of becoming a petrol dollar world currency reserve status. -
Delaying and reversing demographic destiny
paxamericana replied to paxamericana's topic in Religion & Politics
I’m not here to educate the uninformed. Do your own homework. Come back with real talking points. -
Uh huh. That’s your premise? Well keep on going, the US doesn’t age like the rest of the world. This decline is happening at a much higher rate to the world than America. Which is why you get Trump. Don’t see it that way, we’re the only game left. Everyone else aged out. That’s the point. Why do you think investment in America is skyrocketing. You need more work in the decline theory there. Sure other countries may not like America but they’re in a much rougher position and is now, more dependent on American energy as well as market access. I suggest you do some homework.

Doesn’t matter in the western hemisphere now does it? Your ass Canada, belongs to America. Ofcourse they will, they’re perpetually wrong. They picked the wrong side since 1775 and has continued the losing streak ever since. Why we put up with you all is one of life’s mysteries.

Uh huh, no one is going to risk angering the US to help aid Canada. Your fate is up to America. We just happen to not have any interest in using our hard power on Canada, out of the kindness of our big American hearts of-course. Fighting Canada would be akin to having a civil war is how America sees it. Well, shall we do it the easy way then or would you rather one of the provinces secede and drag it out a little bit longer?

Delaying and reversing demographic destiny
paxamericana replied to paxamericana's topic in Religion & Politics
Sounds like religious ethno state is the only other option then. -
And you lot think cheering them does what exactly? China is collapsing economically and soon, politically. See Beijing maintains control by bribing every local politician, that only works so long as the money flow. When it doesn’t, everyone suddenly have their own interest. Historicaly, China as a unified nation is an anomaly not the norm. I never understood this Chinese sentiment as a hedge against American hegemony. Betting on the Chinese to spite America is the worse bet you can make. Instead accept reality for what it is, America is the undisputed super power and will remain so for the foreseeable future. We’re not going away anytime soon. So best you Canucks get with the program and accept your destiny as a future state.

Two known path currently exist. Option 1, mass immigration. Option 2, become a religious ethno state. The US is currently experimenting with both option simultaneously. Religious communities like the Amish has always maintained a higher birth rate than general population as well as the migrant population who make it into the US. Argue below.

Oil prices, yes nothing new there. But, what dictates prices are supply and demand. When the supply of oil reserve are depleted, prices will naturally increase. In other words how low the oil reserves determines the timeline for the war. The strategic reserve is roughly 1 Billion barrel across the G7 countries. The Middle East combined output is 30 million barrels per day. Assuming no increased production elsewhere and decreased demand, it would take a little over a month to burn through the G7 reserve, longer if prices increase to limit demand and encourage output. Now this isn’t how oil reserves is distributed on a country basis. The US has an indefinite supply as it is a net exporter. Japan has about 6 months reserve etc. This is my original thought not parroted by main stream media feel free to poke holes.

Canada slips into recession as economy stalls
paxamericana replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Let go, stop living in the past, the Harper years was a moment in time, when commodity prices skyrocketed and global consumption was at an all time high. Those days are long gone and will not return until people in the developed world starts having babies again. We are in a post globalization era. The end of globalization as it currently stands. This is the era where America gets to have her cake and eat it to. -
Canada slips into recession as economy stalls

And yet somehow the Americans are faring just fine. You realize what that means? Canada is only insulated so long as it’s tied to the hip with America, leave the American’s warmth and economic doom will follow. -
Canada slips into recession as economy stalls

It’s a Canadian phenomenon. Claims abusive relationship with America, proceeds to self sabotage and now begging to be taken back. Really could have done this the easy way when orange man offered statehood. -
France, Germany, UK. All entering recession. While the colder North AMERICANS are already there! US on track for increased growth by Q4. That’s right baby, America is the hottest game in town. “US GDP is projected to expand 2.5% in 2026 (fourth quarter, year over year), versus the consensus economist estimate of 2.1%, according to Goldman Sachs Research. On a full-year basis, the economy is forecast to grow 2.8%. The probability of a recession in the next 12 months has fallen from 30% to 20%. All forecasts are as of January 11.” https://www.goldmansachs.com/insights/articles/us-gdp-growth-is-projected-to-outperform-economist-forecasts-in-2026

That makes no sense. Stalling means you are already behind due to inflation. Surely you can defend your echo chamber better than that! -

What makes the world global and not just a collection of different colored hominids? To start, transport ;airplanes, cars, trains, bridges, roads, ships. Then there is the information space that encompasses deep sea cables, satellite telecommunications, radio, computer chips etc. Control over any of these matters will mean the ability to shut down globalization. So, for globalization to continue there needs to be an incentive to not screw over one another and treat each other as customers and not competitors. The incentive need not be financial, could be blackmail like M.A.D
