Carney Articulates The New World Order In Davos
paxamericana replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nope, the world better come with knee pads or you all can have at it with one another. The law of the jungle still applies as much as you may think the veneer of civilization is an entitlement. -

How about you read some more. I insist. The British empire fell apart directly because of WWII. America dominated the oceans. See French British attempt to seize Suez Cannal. -

No that’s sin of the sloth. it’s not clear to me why you can’t have a heaven on earth, because people can’t seem to help but make a hell on earth for themselves. Being a Christian isn’t easy man. It’s a struggle. Israel means one who struggles with God by the way. -

Did you happen to read the part where their empires ended? It’s because of America. You know WWII… -

No, one of the first commandments in Genesis by God to Adam and Eve is to be fruitful and multiply. Having children(s) is not a “liberty” a “choice”, it is a holy duty to fulfill. As is the stewardship of the planet. -

Israel is the exception yes but mind you they’re a country of 10 million after getting nearly wiped out 80 years ago. 10 million is not enough to make a significant difference in the decades to come, in the century to come sure. Mexico is declining at a faster rate now than the US actually. Mind you they’ve had a higher fertility rate because of the late adoption into NAFTA. But that stopped in the 1990s -

Anti-Natalist. They have the opinion that more people bad for planet. Less people good for planet. Tells you what their priorities are. I reject that as heresy of the highest order, evil infact. -

20 years of the global war on terror didn’t cause any great changes? Lybia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria!!!? MH I expected better from you. -
The Persian make up 50% of the ethnic population. They crack down on the other 50. They’ve only had 6 regime change in their entire recorded history because they all live on a mountain strong hold. 2 regime change in the last 100 years. This is just a sample of what the Persian will do. It gets a lot bloodier than this if you read their history.

Not just that, we’re the youngest of the developed countries. We’re not facing a Canadian style collapse even if we closed our border and never import another batch for at least 40-50 years from now at current trend. Meaning we can still repopulate. Everyone else has crossed the biological age of no return. -

Pollution is mismanagement not caused by simply being. -
The Great new deal; you invest in America , we do good, you do good. We’ll protect the peace. And allow you to continue trading globally by protecting the sea lane from adversaries and would be adversaries like your neighbor. Prosperity and Security goes hand in hand. What does America ask for in return? Locking down the Artic Ocean. The question you all should be asking is when not why. Even with the most aggressive Artic warming model , the Artic ocean won’t be iceberg free year round for another 100 years. One way to achieve American National interest is controlling the territorial water off of Greenland in conjunction with the Scandinavians and Brits. America defeated the Germans when Denmark was defeated by Nazi Germany, Greenland sovereignty, America gave it back through treaty. But times are different now. The next 100 years will be different.

If I was the CO on station at Thule AFB and I would issue bean bag rounds loaded first with orders to aim for the beaver’s crotch. Everyone else gets the Venezuela death ray. @Army Guy Okay cannon fodder, maybe for you it was. Do you hug trees too, identify as planetsexual?? We’re steward of the Planet, meaning we tend to the garden not let it run rampant with pest and disease at the cost of human lives. China was never a super power. A regional power sure but not a super power. Tread lightly Canuck. Yeah and you better be grateful or you’ll be 51st the next day. -

You’re not looking at the right place. Do me a favor and draw a giant island. Compared that giant island to Japan and Great Britain. The two longest lived country. That’s who you should make comparison to. -
actually I would argue otherwise. The US share of GDP from international trade is limited in relative terms. It’s as insular as can be in a modern economy. But the bigger picture here is the cost. What is the cost for global instability to the US( we don’t care about others). What I’m suggesting is that America doesn’t really care about the economics of globalism anymore because it’s not an export economy. Without globalism it just means cost would be higher for some input. But we were already headed there with the demographic cliff from Europe and Asia anyways. So the cost then is security, what would it take for the US to remain globally engaged? In the short term just China’s potential play for Taiwan but in the medium term not much. The long term looks more like the 1920s with everyone armed to the teeth creating a potential for world conflagration.

It’ll be short lived. As soon as America pulls away there will be a power vacuum and the next generation Americans is guaranteed to sort out that mess. -
Withdraw US forward deployed Troops from Korea, Japan and Germany. Yup that’s all you need to do to guaranteed WWIII. Germany will reassert it self on the European continent and Asia would once again be at risk to the empire of the rising sun. Korea would be lost and there would be no deterrent to attacking the US mainland from the existing eastern hemisphere. This would not happen over night of course but over the course of 20-30 years the world would look again like 1929. The pro isolation crowd seem to forget that America is already protecting itself on the cheap with forward deployed power projection by controlling the destiny of two continents.

Three super-powers will control the world?
paxamericana replied to Radiorum's topic in The Rest of the World
This is a 1000 IQ move from patriotic Canadians, giving the US a reason to roll tanks North. Forcing America’s hand. -
With the collapse of the Soviet Union and China’s imminent collapse (next 5 years) America finds itself for the first time without a strategic rival. Most of the world hasn’t realized that America no longer has interests in the wider world yet will be painfully aware of its absence. America is shifting focus more domestically and near shore, but still packing the firepower of the greatest global superpower in human history. Make no mistake, there will be more wars, famine and pestilence because of America’s absence, not less. The world will look back and realized how good the days of yesteryear under the old hegemon. Mark Carney describe this new dystopia: “middle powers must act together because if we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu.”
