  1. Again you totally ignore the fact that Chain represents 7% of American exports while Canada represents 19% of American exports. Bleeding hundreds of billion in trade deficits to China is your idea of something good?
  2. Same as doing genetic screening of a fetus for criminal behaviour. In the early 70's there was also a lot of support for physiological screening of youth entering school (ie. about grade 1) for criminal makeup.
  3. In total trade, Canada is still #1 but you are right that China is very close and will probably overtake Canada next year. The difference is however Canada/US trade is bi-lateral with about 50% imports and 50% exports. With China the trade is 20% exports to 80% imports. Even Mexico (#3 trading partner) is much closer to bi-lateral trade than China (about 42% exports).
  4. Ok you are being clear. 1. There are 2 classes of citizen 2. All criminal offences are equal 3. Despite living here for almost your entire life, you will be deported to a country/culture that you do not know. I assume you mean no appeal on the deportation, or do you mean no appeal on the criminal offence as well? You are aware that using insulting language is a criminal offence (Section 175.1.a.i of the Criminal Code of Canada).
  5. I see, sexual segregation is prestigious in your mind.
  6. Have you read either?
  7. My old van full of diesel fuel and fertilizer at the front door of the Dominion Royal Imperial Bank of Scotia Montreal. Do you need to know what day of the week and time? I didn't say convicted, I said intend. Yes I am being silly, and so is Leitch. I am being silly to point out her dog-whistle politics. Why is she being silly?
  8. What if I moved here at age 1, was educated here, gained my citizenship, contributed taxes for years and am now retired?
  9. If I park illegally, do I get deported?
  10. See, your carefully articulated reason has persuaded me. Who will be first in line to take the test?
  11. Which is essentially the point. Question to all immigrants: Do you intend to be a criminal?
  12. Concurrence, finally.
  13. The 3.5mm (referred to in the US as 1/8", but technically larger) stereo headphone jack is not 100 years old. Yes, you could say it is derived from old tip&ring phone jacks, but then bluetooth is also derived as it is just another evolutionary step. I don't know when the first 3.5mm stereo headphone jack first appeared, but I expect it was around 1980 when the Sony Walkman came out. Prior to that we did have 1/4" stereo headphone jacks, and 1/8" mono earphone jacks. Does anyone remember the old TINI jack from 70's era synthesizers, slightly larger than 3.5mm an mono?
  14. Yes, and the truth as well. It is Trump's hatred that spreads hatred. It is an evil spiral he has created.
  15. Canada has consistently improved in both those categories over the past several decades. The problem is Canadian numbers are about 3 years old (I really don't know why we are slow in publishing them) where other countries publish much more current figures. You are not comparing apples to apples in either of those cases.
  16. People hate Trump because he lies and cheats and spreads hatred. He is vile, and only the feeble minded swallow his swill.
  17. Exactly what are Canadian values, and who gets to decide on them. Can we deport the home grown right wing nutcases that flunk the test?
  18. Try and register your son at Elmwood, or your daughter at St. Andrew's College.
  19. It would if that were really true, but Canada consistently ranks as one of the best health care systems in the world. Australia is generally the one country that ranks as high (sometime higher) than Canada. European countries, like Canada and the US, have grown the cost of healthcare over the past several decades. European countries with higher cost of healthcare than Canada (latest OECD data) are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Sweden, and Switzerland; of course non of them are close to the cost of health-care in the US. What specific European countries are you referring to?
  20. Not sure where you get the 10% figure from. Following your link I see 20% less an overhead of 12-43%. Assuming every physician was at the high end then that would be about 12% net. I don't see enough detail to come up with an estimate, but it would be somewhere between 12%-19%
  21. Yes, a lot of them were probably killed by their own countrymen. The blame for the situation however lies firmly at the feet of George Bush. Some people are better off than if Bush never invaded, but far more people are worse off and dead because he did. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratio is 1:1000 or more (better off compared to worse off or dead).
  22. Even if any did, they most likely would not want to let it be know to all the crackpots out there. The value of blowing your own horn in this case is outweighed about a thousand fold by the danger some right wing nutcase will exercise his idiocy.
  23. What do you call the several hundred thousand (estimates are close to a million) Iraqi that have died as a direct result of George Bush's ego?
  24. Unfortunately we can't do anything about doctors who leave the country, but if they want to enrich their pocketbook with massive public welfare while here then we should ding them big time. There are many good reasons to stay in Canada, even for doctors.
