This thread is a perfect example of why Canada is in the shape it’s in, and why everything has gotten worse over the past decade. Too many people are fixated over individuals with no legislative power, while ignoring or giving a pass to those who do. You’d think Pierre had been PM since 2015 the way libtards are obsessed with him and everything he does. Meanwhile, the actual party in power destroys the housing market, destroys the immigration system, destroys the health care system and puts Canada in economic decline, and nary a peep from these people.

He’s the official opposition. He absolutely needs a platform, it’s part of his job. No, much of what he said isn’t being done, or it’s being done in piecemeal. Why do you criticize somebody with no legislative power more than a party that’s been in power for over a decade and made everything worse? Is politics a team sport to you?
-
I think the word you’re looking for is criticize, particularly bad policy which is literally his job as official opposition. He’s had no legislative power so he can’t pass legislation.

Pierre had a great speech yesterday, putting forward a strong platform for Canadian prosperity. I won’t even be mad if Carney steals some policies again if it means a better Canada.

How so? Democrats are literally perpetuating it, he had a drivers license because California gives illegals drivers licenses for some reason. You support this nonsense. He wouldn’t have been driving if not for democrats, and he shouldn’t have been in the country. I just hope he didn’t come to the United States from Canada, or were even more screwed.

Air Canada Strike -Does Mark Carney have "power"?
Shady replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes when you take people’s rights away they usually have little recourse. Congratulations. Yes when you take people’s rights away, their options become limited. Congratulations. -
CUPE tears up Carney’s return to work order.

Liberals have made to common now to trample of unions right to strike. The fact that the law allows a minister to decree people back to work subverting their rights doesn’t make it right. “Section 107 has been in the Canada Labour Code for more than 40 years but using it has become more common particularly in the last year. The Canadian Labour Congress says the Liberals have resorted to section 107 eight times since June 2024, including to prevent a strike by WestJet mechanics, and to end strikes or lockouts at the country’s two main railways, ports in Montreal and Vancouver and temporarily a strike and lockout at Canada Post. Before then, section 107 was only used a handful of times” https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/after-air-canada-strike-section-107-of-labour-code-is-dead-says-union-leader/ -
It does seem kind of weird that you can “buy” your house, pay tens of thousands of dollars of tax on that, and then essentially still rent it from the government for several thousand dollars a year. And if you don’t pay it, they can take the house that you supposedly ”own”.

it’s up to conservatives to decide who their leader is. You seem to care way too much about this. Woot!
-
Yep, and 3 liberal candidates caused 3 by elections 6 months before the April election. You didn’t care about that cost. So spare me the pseudo concern. you mean when his riding was redrawn to include more liberal voters, and the only leader to have the longest ballot initiative used to create a ballot several feet long? Cope and seethe.
-
Yes, he went to the province he was born in. I’m sorry that upsets you so much! I’m enjoying the fake concern over the cost. Liberals don’t care about tax dollars. That’s why we’re in such bad shape. Regardless, did you feel the same when several Liberal candidates resigned 6 months before the election in April that led to 3 by elections? Too funny!
-
You mean travelling to where he was born? How is that worse than the Liberals kicking out an elected MP in one of the safest Liberal ridings so that a guy living in another country working for a foreign government could run? 🤣

First Nations Summit Ends In Disaster For Carney
Shady replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes, for the good of Canada. We’re in really bad shape thanks to really bad policies over the last ten years implemented by the Liberals. -
More negotiating masterwork from Mark Carney, as CUPE tears up his return to work order after he trampled on their charter rights.
