  1. I think this whole TTC Bus Football team thing is evidence of the frothing hatred people have for Ford. He didn't call the bus, the cops did. It's the TTC's fault they took paying passengers off a bus to send it to pick up Ford's football team. The only thing one may kind of be critical of him on is the fact he called Andy Byford to see where the bus was once he was told it was coming. But as soon as people heard they assumed Ford used his clout to get a TTC bus to come pick up his team. I'm shocked I haven't heard people say that the reason the team got into the fight was because Ford is a shit disturber that caused it.
  2. It lies dormant until you die or get infected by the active for of the virus through the bloodstream. Lori dies in the comics shockingly too. Not like that though. The T-Dog death was sadder. Man The Governor is really playing up being a cult leader in the zombie apocalypse.
  3. Remember Paul Martin and Iggy were supposed to be huge successes too? How did those two guys work out?
  4. Isn't Winnipeg constantly threatened with flooding? Quebec had a major Ice Storm a bit over a decade ago. The East Coast of Lake Huron is always threatened with major Lake Effect Snow. Atlantic Canada faces the threat of Hurricanes on occasion. I'd like to think the people who founded York (Toronto) did it because they knew something about weather and that putting a city at the north side of Lake Ontario would lead to a region that's relatively sheltered from really bad weather. There were some tornadoes in the GTA 3 years back but the Toronto area does often avoid the worst weather that places nearby often suffer from.
  5. They've made post Episode VI video games. The universe has fiction that goes beyond the death of the Emperor. I'm not a Star Wars nerd so I have no idea what it is though. Since all the actors involved are old they might have to move forward a few decades like the difference between Episode III and IV. Or they could go the Star Trek route and recast all the actors in sort of a reboot. Tyler Perry as Lando anyone? Jennifer Lawrence as Leah? Aaron Paul as Luke? Ryan Gosling as Han? The Star Wars Universe has such a geek following it would be idiotic not to make another movie to rake in the money. Re-doing all the movies in 3D is kind of lame.
  6. And what do you think?
  7. Well you're clearly tech savy. I personally love Android because of it's customizability. I rejected the idea of a Windows phone because it looked way to simple. With Windows 8 apparently you can always change the panel look back to the way Windows 7 looked like. $40 seems like a low cost gamble to see if you like the OS. The reason I like Mac OS better is because I find file management much easier than on my Vista machine. I'm curious to see if Window 8 make file management much easier.
  8. Well the sentiment of wanting to upgrade the OS wouldn't matter to an Apple fan. Apple fans are also happy spending 3 times more for a comparable computer. That being said, from what I've seen from Windows 8 is that it's looking to trump Apple's user friendliness. It looks extraordinarily simple to use. Same with a Windows 8 phone. If people would start making apps for Windows Phone I can see people who like the ease of use of iOS devices switching teams.
  9. Windows 8 can be purchased online for only $40. Sorta hard not to try it out at that price.
  10. The New York Jets should really consider putting Tim Tebow in at QB to replace Mark Sanchez. Sure Mark Sanchez isn't the only reason they are sucking the big one this season but he's just not getting it done. Some of those horrific passes he made yesterday against the Dolphins were embarrassing. His pocket presence is abysmal too. At least with Tebow he can threaten to run. I think the media and fans are going to force the team's hand here. Tebow has got to be a better QB than he is at blocking for his punter. :-D
  11. Looks like this thing is going far south of the GTA. If you're next to Lake Ontario and Erie you might have some wind problems but nothing too serious. We'll be spared the heavy rain, which is good considering it's been pretty much raining here non-stop since late Friday Afternoon. Things could be bad in populated parts of the US Northeast: Pennsylvania, Virginia, DC, New Jersey, NYC etc.
  12. What would be really cool here is if there is a prolonged strike that would force back to work legislation and the Government has to call back the House. Hopefully that could lead to a confidence motion forcing an election. It would be beautiful!
  13. Screw these guys. It looks like the owners will try to break the Union. 50-50 was the best the players were going to get. The salaries NHL players get compared to the relative strength of the league (compared to NFL, NBA and MLB) is totally out of whack. The owners hurt themselves by giving ridiculous salaries to marginal players but, oh well, it's their money. Black Dog is right. Why should the NHL pander to owners in hurting teams in Florida, Arizon and California? The fact that the league refuses to move Phoenix to the GTA where Leaf abused fans would welcome them with open arms is quite frankly offensive. I'm not picking a side here. Both of them can go to Hell. At least the Leafs didn't look to be much better than last year so I'm likely not missing out on much. NFL and NBA look to be interesting this year too. The Raptors might (and I mean MIGHT) actually be somewhat competitive this year.
  14. The reason Stephen Harper supported Cap and Trade was because it was thought that Barack Obama was going to introduce that system basically forcing Canada's hand. Obviously there's no political will in the US to introduce Cap and Trade at this point so there's no reason for Canada to introduce it. Why are people on the Left discussing issues the CPCs policies in 2008? First it was his debt removal strategy and now Cap and Trade. You know something significant happened in 2008 that put these policies in the back burner.
  15. Yeah that's why there's a large deficit. Not a result of the economic meltdown or anything.
  16. There are several threads about this already aren't they? In 2008 Canadians overwhelmingly rejected the idea of a Carbon tax. It's a good strategy to try to label the NDP a party that would saddle the Canadian public with a carbon tax. Or Cap and Trade, whatever, they're not a whole lot different when you think about it.
  17. The wage freeze legislation never had a hope of passing the house because the NDP thinks it's too extreme and the PCs don't think it's extreme enough. The Union support will likely go to the Dippers in the next election. I've heard that Sid Ryan said talks have broken down between Dalton and the Federation of Labour. (that's hearsay though)
  18. So Duncan and Bentley are not only out of the leadership race but they also wont run in the next election. So until at least February the province is being led by 3 people (Premier, Finance Minister and Energy Minister) who won't face the voters in the upcoming election. Un-Effin-Real!!!!
  19. The stock Samsung Android Keyboard always gives you the option of using voice to text. It's gotten really good but you can't really verbally give commands for capitals or punctuation (or at least I haven't figured out how to). It's alright for doing searches (sorta like with Siri) or simple text messages.
  20. You're right. Typing is always easier and more productive on a keyboard. And having a desktop UI is a lot easier way of organizing files. I looked at the layout of Windows 8 and I think it would take awhile to to get used to as it appears to be a mobile OS on a desktop. I may try it and see how it works but it's certainly not what I'm used to. As for the typing on a mobile device there's this Android App called Swiftkey 3 that tries to predict what you're saying, much better than auto correct. It gives you 3 words it thinks your trying to type so you often don't have to finish the word. If you're typing a common phrase you often don't even have to type a letter as it can predict your phrase. It also can access your Gmail or Facebook to learn your writing style. Pretty interesting stuff. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey&hl=en
  21. Was said Cameraman talking about the Tories Bell Ringing Campaign? http://www.torontosun.com/2012/10/24/premier-dalton-mcguinty-defends-prorogation-decision They weren't doing it in the Fall when McDalton decided to take his ball and go home. So Dalton is telling a bold face lie when he said the legislator was out of control.
  22. Most definitely. I think Microsoft is hoping user integration from Windows 8 and Microsoft Phone will help sales for Windows phones. I imagine many businesses are still using 2000 or ME.
  23. Dalton was in form yesterday tell everyone to "Take a Deep Breath" and compared what he did to how often the Harris government prorogued the House. He's such a jerk. Harris never prematurely cancelled the Legislative session. Perhaps things were out of control because the government's corruption was so galling and disrespectful to taxpayers that the opposition had to try and hold them to account. Instead Dalton took his ball and went home.
  24. In the December statement that caused the attempted coalition coupe the CPC claimed they still could balance the budget with a small surplus. They also said they'd save money by removing the per vote subsidy to political parties. The outcry over trying to avoid employing Keynesian economics caused the prospect of a coalition taking power led by Stephane Dion. Harper realized there was no way he'd keep power unless he borrowed money to avoid an economic collapse. It would be disingenious for the CPC to claim full responsibility for the success of the Canadian Economic Action Plan. But they did win a majority two years later so their about face didn't hurt them.
  25. What an idiotic story. Windows 8 is a response to the fact that people are moving away from traditional computing and using mobile devices more. If you look at Windows 8 and Window's Phones they look almost identical. I haven't had the chance to use a Windows phone much but from what I can tell it's way more user friendly than even the Mac OSX or iOS. The problem with Windows 8 is that it's so different from previous Windows options people who are comfortable with Windows and not so tech savy might not adopt the change. I'm definitely interested in Windows 8. Even though I'm very anti Apple I concede their user friendly OS is very good. Windows appears to be doing what Apple does, but much better. The subject of the story in question is a moron.
