  1. Well just like in 2008 the decision lies with the Symbolic head of state. In this case the Lt Governor. Perhaps we can plead to ER2 in London to overturn this decision.
  2. McDalton as the Federal Liberal Party leader would be hilarious! No chance a guy like that runs on his record Nationally. I really doubt he does it, or at least does it successfully. Didn't he say he wants to spend time with his family? The prorouging is really is the icing on the cake for this guys scumbaggery. Now let me be clear, I'm not critical of Harper when he did it twice, though I'm still not certain why he did it the second time. I don't believe I'm being hypocritical though. This is a totally different situation. What Dalton has done here has stopped the ways the Opposition can hold them to account for the horrible things this government has done. And for an unspecified period of time, at that. At least Harper said when he'd be back from prorougment. In a time when this province faces serious challenges, the government has basically taken their ball and gone home until they can get their shit together. We may not see Bills passed until next summer, if not for a whole year. There are a list of things we need to see clarified before then and because of the A-holes hubris we now have to wait, sickening!
  3. This is great news but it's pretty shitty that he prorogued government. There's plenty of stuff the House wants to do. It could take months to find a leader. Does this mean no legislation will be passed or even voted until the Spring? That'll be horrible for Ontario. When Harper did it the first time it was right after an election to save his party from the coalition. The second time I'm not sure why he did it. The only reason I can think of is that he didn't want the House sitting while he was in BC for the Olympics. But in this case he's forcing the Province to wait until the party has their shit together before they face the electorate. Whoever decides to lead this party will have to face the electorate the first second he sits as leader.
  4. Well if no one is going to use it, then there's no point.
  5. Well I definitely watched Walking Dead and taped Boardwalk Empires last night. Not sure how anyone can criticize last night's episode of Walking Dead. Wall to Wall zombie killing and even a main character getting bit and having a leg amputated. As a fan of the comics I like to see nods to the storyline of the comics even though much of what happens is vastly different. Though there are no Riot Gear Zombies in the comic, Riot Gear does play a factor in the comic. So does the idea of amputating limbs to keep people from turning into Walkers. Very grim thought of a stillborn zombie fetus trying to eat its way out Lori's belly.
  6. But that would never happen because there is no recent record of Christians reacting violently to slights against their religion.
  7. People in this thread keep saying that entry to Canada isn't a right. No one is saying it is. But you should have a good reason to deny someone entry into a free country. In this case, there really isn't a good reason.
  8. Khadr was born in Canada. We sort of have to let him in.
  9. That looks awfully like a Galaxy S3. Lawsuit anyone?
  10. I must say the mobile version of this site is much improved. Trying to post here on my mobile phone was beyond frustrating before. Now it's rather easy. Good job MLW!
  11. Do you have evidence that he tries to incite violence? Just because his comments may inflame Muslims doesn't mean he's trying to incite them. I'm surprised many Liberals on the site are so supportive of this as this could seriously be a criticism of the Governing Conservatives. Jason Kenney seems to like to not allow people in the country just cuz he can. ei George Galloway even though he had connections with known terrorist organizations. By not allowing people like this in, it makes the story more newsworthy, not less. Had he come up yesterday I'm sure he'd have a debate with the Muslim they had to go up against him (I believe his name is Imam Rockwell) and nothing would have come from it. Now Jones can preach that he's a victim and that the influence of fundamentalist Islam is actually hindering Freedom of Speech in the Western World.
  12. I'm certain they did. It was in the news.
  13. Lots of people don't. Doesn't mean it's not right to let him into a country. Again he's never advocated violence against anyone. His only real extreme action was burning a Quran. Do you think someone who burns a Bible shouldn't be allowed into the US?
  14. Is there any evidence there would be a riot if he attended an event? And if there was, that would sort of lend credence to his claims.
  15. Sure but to deny him access because he may offend Muslims (or has offended them in the past) is pretty sketchy for a country is supposed to support Free Speech. I don't believe he's ever advocated violence against Muslims. The event he was meant to go to was a cross-faith discussion. Not just a Muslim hating jamboree.
  16. That whole Apple Maps software was really successful wasn't it? Anything that makes people NOT! want to update to your latest OS has to be considered an catastrophic failure. BTW LTE is starting to creep out into the burbs where I work. That really kills your battery.
  17. More people are in the chat right now than people who think Dalton McGuinty is a good Premier.

  18. I see a working chat. No one's in it though.
  19. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/1269594--controversial-american-pastor-terry-jones-denied-entry-into-canada
  20. That's the only story I could find about it. It's a topic on talk radio right now that he's not being allowed at all. Don't have a link though.
  21. There's no good reason for this. http://www.theglobea...article4604222/ I'm hearing on the radio that the reason immigration is giving is that Jones says he's a doctor and there's no evidence that he is one. I don't support his views but he should have the right to say those things. There's no reason to not allow him into Canada.
  22. I wouldn't oppose trying chatting. But I agree we'd have to have a test period to see how it goes. If no one uses it or people stop making threads then, yeah it would take away from the site.
  23. Me too. It's like a permanent record of times when we've pissed off the mods.
  24. Of course it'll be seen as an attack on doctors. http://www.thestar.c...-flu-shots-meds You run out of prescription anti-allergy medication and you have to go to a GP to get a renewed scrip even though your condition hasn't changed. The doctor charges the government for printing out a piece of paper and signing it. Or worse he may force you to go see a specialist again to get your scrip renewed because the specialist won't talk to you unless you've first been referred by a GP. I can see areas where it can be abused (such as with addictive narcotics) but I'm sure safeguards can be put in. I doubt doctors will play nice with giving up chanced to bill the government for 2 minutes of work though.
  25. I can see it.
