  1. 1) And it's still something many Americans don't seem to get. See the Sturgis bike rally going ahead this year. 2) Cite.
  2. 1) That's not really a huge sacrifice. 2) Not "everyone" is wearing masks.
  3. Ontario reported 33 new cases today. There are fewer than 1,000 active cases in the province.
  4. There seems to be a noticeable spike in infection rates for children in the US. https://globalnews.ca/news/7262819/children-coronavirus-schools-reopening/ It appears they aren't immune like a certain President said. You could see yet another spike coming as children return to schools in places where the infection isn't under control.
  5. An argument can be made that the extreme heat seen in the Southern US if effectively like Winter. Most people, especially those at risk of death from COVID-19 spend their time inside being cooled by AC. I think the best course of action is to reduce the level of infection as much as you can. Perhaps many will take up Skiing this winter instead of playing hockey in a stuffy arena.
  6. So everyone is really going to lean in on this dementia narrative. Yesterday Trump said the Spanish Flu ended World War 2.
  7. It's true. May are doing that as well. I'm sure those that have part-time or gig economy jobs would much prefer to live off the government. But the rush to re-open isn't nearly as strong as in the US. I contend many in Canada can't go back to work because things haven't fully re-opened yet.
  8. Because employment rate doesn't reflect quality of said jobs that do exist. It's telling that so many workers would rather stay on Government assistance as long as they can rather than return to their low wage job and risk getting COVID-19. This is something government should have considered. They should have allowed the infection rate to drop to a manageable level like the rest of the developed world.
  9. If there was a demand sure. It sure seems US manufacturers like buying Canadian Aluminum. They'd even be willing to pay 10% more.
  10. Again, not the point. You'd expect the US to have a lower unemployment. They started re-opening the economy earlier. But it appears re-opening efforts and job creation have stalled. Should Biden elected in November, that'll be two Democratic POTUS' that inherited ridiculously high unemployment rate from the previous GOP POTUS.
  11. It would probably spoil. Dairy is a perishable item, I'm not sure if you were aware of that.
  12. It always is. It's actually a lot closer now than it normally is. You'd think there'd be a bigger gap consider Canada has been way more cautious on re-opening than the US has. But current' it's only .6% lower.
  13. The irony is that there's zero reason for a Canadian company to import raw Aluminum from the US.
  14. Joe Biden rode on a bike this weekend. Meanwhile Trump has trouble with slippery ramps.

When is the debate between the two?   Is it gonna happen at all?  Hmmmm.....I bet somebody wants to use the Covid-19 to get away from doing a debate.

He won’t debate.  Just like he won’t agree to tough interviews.  He’s suffering from early dementia.  He handlers won’t allow him out of his safe space.

Today, Trump said the pandemic of 1918 happened in 1917 and ended the second world war. This is a game you will lose at horribly.

  15. This just hurts Americans. Like with steel, the US doesn't make nearly enough domestically to meet demand. So tariffs just raise the price on American consumers that will continue to buy from the likes of Canada.
  16. Note that Canada and it's shutdowns and slow cautious re-opening created more the twice the jobs per capital than the US did in July. 419k to 1.8 million.
  17. I'm sure the GOP will suddenly oppose that should Biden be elected.
  18. So "vulnerable" is a sliding scale. It's funny how people are so worried about mental health in regards to having to social distance, but when it comes to the economic realities of being poor in North America it's "sucks to be you".
  19. When people who think things should be business as usual say the vulnerable need protecting, would the vulnerable not be the morbidly obese then?
  20. Give me Liberty or give me death. OR! give me marginally less liberty, and give me life.
  21. BTW daily death was back up to 1,300 yesterday. All the causes of death you mentioned aren't a contagious disease. They're chronic conditions or substance issues. If 1,300 people were dying from murder every day, you'd note that as pretty high, I'd imagine. COVID-19 deaths are collateral damage for the disease being so widespread in American society. And it taxes healthcare systems and makes dying from other things far more likely. You may be about to downplay the severity of COVID-19 in the US, but the truth is, in places where public health wasn't politicized, COVID-19 deaths are unremarkable at all. 11 COVID-19 deaths in Canada yesterday and only around 6,000 active cases vs 2.5 million in the US. The reason safeguards have been maintained is because countries don't want to have what's happening in the US to happen here. Economic considerations are a false choice because the COVID-19 pandemic has forced most of the US to stall it's re-opening efforts while the likes of Canada and Europe are steadily re-opening again without the associated public health issues.
  22. Well for one, not taking the rustbelt states, that brought Trump the 2016 election, for granted. It was notable that Hillary never set foot in Wisconsin. Don't expect that mistake to be made again. If Trump is conceding Michigan, he basically has two must-win states in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Both led by Democratic governors who won't play ball with his voter suppression tactics.
  23. I'm just parroting Trump talking points.
  24. I thought Biden was just a puppet of the radical left?
