  1. He's been anything but a good example on this. Wearing a mask isn't a patriotic symbol. It's a demonstration of good public health, at this point. And he's been dragged kicking and screaming into caring about COVID-19 again because of his pathetic polling numbers.
  2. It's not about being special. It's about all the teams that have them on their schedule. All the AL East and NL East teams get automatic wins? How's that fair to Central and West teams who are competing for playoff spots against the East teams. Again, there are plenty of options for the Jays, just that none of them are terrific at this point.
  3. Big Leaguers then. My bad. Luxury Clubhouses are appealing. Toronto gets to host half the NHL playoffs. It's not like sports without fans are huge revenue generators for hospitality anyway. Are you still under the impression they'll forfeit the season. There are still options on the table. They have a week.
  4. Yeah, their newly renovated Spring Training facility. They already have to play the Marlins and Rays. I guess pro's don't want to play in Minor league facilities. I guess not. I disagree with the ruling. I think the Rogers Centre could have worked as a suitable bubble. It's a political decision from the Feds as Toronto and Ontario both approved the Blue Jays plan.
  5. Ultimately Pro Sports are a TV product. The NBA and the NHL have it right, just have everyone play in a bubble. August is going to be a Sports fans wet dream. Please cite how they are butt hurt. It's so funny that a country that has a fraction of the COVID cases don't want pro athletes coming in and out from COVID hot zones. Ditto with Western PA. Hilarious!
  6. You're so mad about this. It's funny. If they have to play all 60 games on the road, they will. No fans anyway, it's not a huge disadvantage.
  7. Just responding to why their plight is different from the Cincinnati Reds. Yeah, who knew Florida would be such a shit show that even people from Western PA wouldn't want people travelling from there. They played in Boston yesterday. They're your problem now.
  8. Being in a different country. There were always backup plans. If anything they'll have to resort to the AAA field in Buffalo. The good thing about Camden Yards is that 5 of their road games are already going to be there. Much less travel.
  9. Maybe the US COVID-19 situation shouldn't have gotten so much worse that the Federal Government of Pennsylvania didn't want teams flying in from there.
  10. Florida is so toxic right now that Pennsylvania has said that they want teams coming from Florida to play there. The Jays had made a deal to play in the Park the Pittsburg Pirate play in.
  11. It's taken the US 2 weeks to go from 3 million cases to 4 million cases of COVID-19. Can then get to 5 mil before August?

Stark differences in crowding..  look at the Niagara Maid of the Mists and the difference in crowd capacity.   Mind boggling that the U.S. doesn't seem to get it.

  12. She's, of course, lying. He was taped that evening not wearing a mask in a crowd of people. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/508300-trump-seen-at-dc-fundraiser-without-mask-just-hours-after-saying-its
  13. Hospitalization is Back to numbers seen in April . All these testing talk is moot. Testing doesn't cause hospitalization.
  14. The Russia investigation was started by Republicans in in the DOJ and the other three things aren't related to Trump. And yesterday he wished the lady that fed him women well.
  15. I'll repeat, A lot of the coverage is just analysis of what Trump says in his own words. That's not dishonesty. For example he most certainly wished an accused sex trafficker well yesterday. No political spin required.
  16. But enough people are "sick" to the point that hospitalization is an issue in pockets of the US.
  17. I am not. You took it that way because you're being defensive. It's not. Should Canada be testing people at random? Canada's testing is certainly comparable. AND people don't have to pay for tests. But the demand isn't overwhelming. Doug Ford actually asked people to get testing recently.
  18. I said "In the US". Not all the US. Are you denying that Florida, Texas and Arizona are having these issues? The US is testing more than Canada because there are many more people needing to be tested. Ontario still seems to test 20,000+ a day with an under 1% positivity rate.
  19. Well you're not in a hot zone. That's the reporting from the places that are struggling with the virus.
  20. Which are these nations? Why else would you wait hours in line for a test if you weren't "sick".
  21. People who may think they have COVID. If you think you have COVID, you should be staying home for 2 weeks. BC2004's contention is that the actual infection rate is up to 10 times higher. And I agree. In the US, people have to wait hours to get a test and up to two weeks to get results.
  22. It's got to be somewhat damning though that one of the worst infection rates per capita is likely worse. Especially when you have one of the most comprehensive testing per capita numbers. There are so many sick people that 50 million tests isn't even close to meet the demand.
  23. But the narrative is in opposition to the claim that the increase caseload is solely due to increased testing. Positivity rate would dispute that.
  24. If this didn't matter to anyone then Trump wouldn't have done a 180 on masks (at least in public) and conceded things "will get worse before getting better". The rush to re-open has been stopped in several states. If the positivity rate wasn't a concern because the death rate is lower, there would be no consideration of that.
  25. The Graph indicates a very high positivity rate in March/April that dropped and has ticked back up. But consider that in March, April and May you were only testing people who were had symptoms, as the testing infrastructure wasn't well established. So the positivity rate was much higher. In New York and California, you saw a positivity rate around 50% in April. Now that people can get testing for screening purposes and there are places like New York where positivity rate is now around 1%. Those are things that would naturally drop the National positivity rate. But in states that are struggling, the positivity rate is still quite high considering how many people they're testing. Florida: 19% Texas: 15% Arizona: 24% Georgia: 15% This indicates that they're testing a lot of sick people. And we've all seen lineups at testing facilities. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/07/11/covid-19-test-results-delayed-labs-struggle-cases-surge/5406936002/ I doubt people would endure that unless they really thought they had the disease.
