  1. Everyone was there to honour the WW1 veterans - of all sides. I don't care you say, they were standing on ground that the Americans fought and died on to help liberate France, no one including Trump and the Americans deserved to embarrassed by Macron on that day. Sure, slag Trump at the G20 or wherever, he can take it, but this was the absolute wrong venue - Macron should apologize - It was a dick move. This is how you acknowledge a country that liberated you.
  2. People always look for a higher purpose...or belief system if you choose. It's not just about living a good life, people who don't or wont look up to a higher "being" will look elsewhere to fill that gap - it's only nature.
  3. Without religion, what higher purpose will people believe in?
  4. The whole Macron speech was cringe worthy. Team Canada was obviously the all-star team in WW1, but the Americans came in and did a good job near the end. It was the french (Foch) who put such harsh conditions through the treaty of Versailles and occupied Germany that many believe led to WW2 where Canada and the US had to rescue France for a second time in 25 years. And without the US, there would be no NATO to speak of. Macron stood there in front of Putin, Merkell and Trump and decided to take shots at Donald Trump....and by extension the Americans...WoW! I'm not gonna wave the US flag for them, but this was the absolute wrong venue for the French to school anyone about foreign policy.
  5. I think the repubs will win both house and senate. I think there is a hidden trump vote out there that equals about 3 points that the polls aren't picking up on.
  6. If we can assume that "nationalist" actually means "White Nationalist", can we also assume that "Socialist" actually means "National Socialist"?

Get a load of this: you used to be able to take pride in YOUR country rather than in everybody else's.

Now let's get you that prescription to calm all those popular thoughts....

  7. You can mock all you like, but that doesn't change the facts.
  8. We've completely lost Vancouver to the Chinese. Even they'll tell you that.
  9. I think what we've come to know is that there are crazies on both sides - there always have been. However, as important as you think it is that "Trumpsters" want to disassociate themselves with this, you can clearly see how the left is relishing in the idea that he likely is a Trump supporter and not from the left. Of course he should be condemned, but the excitement in the media is just as sick and twisted as any defense of this guy from the right. Remember the media condemned the Scalise shooter, but also openly wondered if shooting Scalise wasn't a good thing. Just as you aren't worried about terrorists, i'm not worried about the lone crazy either. I worry more about the pack animals like Antifa, there the one who are on the flashpoint - not this psycho.
  10. Bull, this was ramping up well before Trump. There were even riots from Bernie people, BLM and Antifa groups before Trump.
  11. I'm gonna go to our election/referendum and tell them that I have no ID....just to see what happens.
  12. Really, they pay $2000+ per month for health care, really? WoW!
  13. Would any of you give up universal health care if we got rid of GST and gas was reduced by half?
  14. Maybe Don Lemon and the others are right. Kanye should stop thinking for himself and just get back into line and do what he's told.
  15. That's damage control, he can't afford to be blacklisted by hollywood. Any guy who get's metoo'd and wants to "keep" a career, better have their head down. With Kavanaugh, he had to defend himself because if he didn't become Justice, he would have nothing - remember Pelosi and the rest were suggesting he shouldn't even be allowed his old job back, and was fired from Harvard. Secondly, to say his past confirms an attempted rape, is totally stunned. There is more evidence that she made up the whole thing, you don't think her story was "off", not to mention her past and the way the story was presented? C'mon, it's obvious. Third, If Kavanaugh had of said what you suggest, he would not have been confirmed. It's rather naive of you to believe that he would've been forgiven.
  16. ^^^I had a judge shout me down once during a settlement meeting for calling the process "bunk", then he berrated the other lawyer for overcharging me on a debt. I don't think some of you people have had any real life experiences with judges. They do get upset, just like...ya know, real people.
  17. Like Collins said, Kavanaugh and Garland have agreed on somewhere north of 95% of cases. This is and has always been about democrats stoking fear into women about Roe V Wade and hoping it'll pay off in the mid-term elections.
  18. I think it's really sad that the democrats have hijacked the whole #metoo movement for their own political purposes. I've literally heard people on TV say "if you're part of the metoo movement, then you should be a democrat" or "how can you say you're supportive of metoo and still be a republican". It's shameful that they exploit this for their own purposes.
  19. Separation of people based on identity, a society that values one identity over another, restricted (and now forced) language, media who is complicit with the political party, radical groups storming the streets and colleges attacking people who think and speak differently, dependancy on gov't, destruction of traditional values (marriage, church, family, service groups etc.) that ensure dependancy on the gov't., taking away from one group to give to another. Those are all democrat traits, the same traits common in Nazi Germany. The problem, and the reason the left is freaking out is because they've worked very hard to get to this point and Obama nearly put them over the top, and Hillary surely would've. Trump sets their Marxist/Socialist agenda back a few years.
  20. I gotta think that any of us who partied in the 80's (men or women) have an opportunity to be metoo'd.
  21. Because he is a potential supreme court judge, he can't say how he'd rule. That is a trap. If he says one way or another, he'd be judging a case that he doesn't have the facts on - he simply cannot answer that.
  22. Oh Bull, it's no secret that these judges (all of them) have biasses - you don't think RBG has her biasses? Whether they use them is the question, and all evidence is that Kavanaugh has never used bias in his rulings.
  23. She said the whole incident came to light because of the door argument she had between her and her husband, except the 2nd door was in place long before that - and was used so they could rent out part of their house. She testified that she'd never taken a polygraph, but her ex-boyfriend said she's basically an expert at beating the machine. Sorry, but she did lie, and more investigation would surely turn up more lies on behalf of Ford. It was a hail Mary from the dems, and it failed. BTW - The senate has their own investigators, if the dems knew something or had anything on Kavanaugh, they'd be shouting it from every rooftop, not lamenting about credible witnesses that weren't interviewed.
  24. Why is it conservative women excusing men who commit sexual assault? I think if you're honest, you'll see that women of all political leanings do that. I'm not going to get into Ellison, Clinton, Kennedy, Jackson etc., but c'mon, supporting sex offenders is not exclusive to any one group of women. Also, who exactly are you referring to? If there was a dime's worth, or an ounce of evidence against Kavanaugh, he'd be done, instead he'll be a supreme court judge. Why don't you ever wonder about feminist women supporting women in obvious false allegations. That seems to be more pervasive and dangerous than anything else. Remember when liberals would say things like "better to free 10 men than wrongly convict one"? Now it's literally, "If a few innocent men go down, that's a price we'll accept".
  25. The lefties wanted an investigation and now they're not happy with the investigation...Hmmm, who could've predicted that?
