A transgender is not quite a man and not quite a woman - right? Even they don't dispute that, hence the name "Transgender". There are anywhere from 50-65 recognized genders around the world. If you consider male and female to make up 98% of those, why is it discrimination to recognize the other 2% as a gender that is neither male or female. To give them their own space is not only not discriminatory - but should be expected. The 2% other gendered being asked to use a third facility should be no more discriminatory than asking male gender people to use the male facility.

If you say he did, then I take that as truth. I've been away from the media over those days. If Trump said he'd do it, then his mistake was simply entertaining the offer, much like Hillary. I used "himself" because it's tricky, "they", although transgender, looked every bit of a man that I do, they professed to stay the same physically, not take any hormones or meds and stated that they enjoy sex with women.

Setting up and giving transgendered their own separate bathroom/showers is in no way discriminatory.

I think this is where some definition of transgender should should come into play. I know that the progressives love the idea of "it is whatever they want it to be", but this attitude is the stumbling point for many people.

That's siblings, and at a certain age - usually before puberty that stuff stops. Saying, "we did this, so why not that", takes us back to that slippery slope argument of zero boundaries.

I actually wondered what your take on this would be. On one hand there are guys claiming to be women and wanting to shower with them - as is their new found right, but on the other hand, every time this situation has arisen in the real world setting, women have shown to want no part of the experiment. There are also a number of instances with women feeling violated by guys in the dressing room/shower - as has happened in Toronto.

The law can give ensure your rights, but can never give you acceptance. I'm pretty sure there was acceptance at that particular school, but how accepted will that person feel when the actual girls reject wanting to shower with them and choose to (as school boards even in Canada have suggested) shower in the smaller staff, disability or family change areas. In a number of situations in the US, entire groups of girls have had to cram into the smallest of change areas while the transgender had pretty much the entire facility to himself. How accepted did he feel? And, did he care?

I don't think either Trump or Hillary can gain anything by debating Sanders.

You really can't see that after A and B comes C, Can you? Trans people don't want their own bathroom, they want to have access to whatever bathroom they want. Same goes for showers and change rooms. We now are pressing laws that will accept that. Look what is going on at the U of T, Look what is happening in women's shower spaces in the US. I would have cited those US stories, but, just like whatshisname, you're quite prepared to ignore what's right in front of your face in the name of social justice. In one of those articles I read yesterday, the Alberta School rep did say that any cisgendered girls who are unforgettable with a male bodied person in their shower are free to use to disabled or teacher shower - classic. We're gonna have a situation similar to what they had in New You and Washington, where there are 18-20 girls in the single shower family room and one transgender in the entire women's change area.
