OK, you'll suggest there is something else, but let me guess, you'll never give an answer.

I don't live in Florida...or anywhere in the USA for that matter. I just find it unusual that people (Bernie people) would protest perceived hate speech and not protest someone actually calling for the death of an entire group of people. I can only imagine that the reason is they either feel safe protesting Trump or they really don't care about hate speech directed at homosexuals.
-
Tactics of war are constantly changing, and for people to think that these combatants need a uniform or specific orders from leaders is so passe'. Terrorism is the new guerrilla warfare. BTW - Where were all those Bernie supporters who like to protest "hate speech" when that Iman was preaching the murder of homosexuals?
-
And this is what is very troubling for many people. Every time this has happened, it comes out later just how many people knew about it. Whether it be France, Belguim, San Bernardino and Orlando - among others, family, friends and neighbours knew and said nothing.
-
It was a joke, I'm sure you know my position on the issue.
-
If that's the stumbling point, how about replacing "God" with "Gods"...and place "thy sons command" with "thy owns command" - this ought to appeal to the self indulgent millennials.
-
I'm shocked at just how surprised people here, the survivors and those in the media are that a gay bar was the focal point of a muslim attack.
-
If the grocer refuses to sort out (or eliminate) the bad apples himself, then why should we keep accepting apples from him?
-
Yeah, could you imagine the devastation if instead of a gun, he had a gerry can of gasoline.
-
Exactly, if he says his christian faith inspired him to want to kill gays, they one would have to believe him. If he says it's because he thinks gay people are icky, if he read "catcher in the rye" or even if he did it to impress Jodi Foster, then thats why he did it. The desire to make up reasons when the reason is clearly given to us, is sheer idiocy - and denial.

There is no evidence of any mental instability besides his ex-wife saying he was abusive. This just looks like a muslim being radicalized to me. Of course the ex-wife will say he was mentally ill and the family will say it wasn't terrorism and the media will say it was guns - what else could be expected? BTW - If a christian pulls off the old mass killing and claims it was because of his religious views, then thats exactly why he did it.
-
Just to put this out there, I have no issue with addressing gun laws. Maybe clip sizes, maybe background checks or bans for certain people etc. Blaming the gun itself is silly, it's only a semi-auto - not even fully auto. We can have them here in Canada if we have a "restricted" license. I could order one tomorrow if I wanted. The gun looks more menacing than it actually is. But, blaming the gun and availability is really another way of blaming the NRA, the right wingers and the "religious right"...right? Should he have had a gun? Well, no! He was investigated by the FBI at least twice - for terrorist connections, he was on a watch list. So, who dropped the ball there? One has to wonder if a reduction in Intelligence, FBI, Homeland security etc etc, should be looked at.

What a ridiculous concept. Trump does not need name recognition and the fact is; the way the media has treated him, this presidential run has cost him millions - maybe billions in business dollars.
-
He was muslim - which means that yes, he was homophobic. He was a muslim so yes, he abused his wife - this isn't mentally ill, this is Islam. He wanted to kill gays, so he got a gun, would the conversation be different had he used a bomb? But it wasn't a christian, fascist or communist, and this morning when you heard of a terrorist attack, you didn't actually think it was either of those groups...did you?
-
It's getting sad that every time this happens those on the left have to run around and find any aspect or the smallest detail to try and disprove that the root problem is radical islam. When we all woke up to the horrific news, we all knew it would be a muslim - didn't we?
-
Yeah, and it could have been an atheist, hippie or midget, but it wasn't...it was a muslim - again. A muslim that had been investigated twice before for terrorism, a muslim that professed his allegiance with ISIS, prayed before the shooting and called 911 to tell them what he was doing and why. Knowing this, it doesn't seem to matter whether he used an assault rifle, bomb, knife or airplane to commit his jihad And, it doesn't really matter that the victims happened to be gays, it might just as well have been christians or a women's group - we're all on the hit list.

Some things that you would call "progressive" are good steps forward, some are not and some really don't matter at all. Does understanding this make me old? Well, if the alternative and if being young means believing that everything labelled progressive is good, just and very important, then, I'm sorry but you're "drinking the Kool-aid". I think the best idea is to scrap the lyrics, but If I would've fought to keep the lyrics as they are, you'd insult me just the same. This is simply the cause d'jour and means nothing in the whole scheme of things. It's like the emoticon thing, do you think female emoticons have made a lick of difference? Well, they haven't. Will changing lyrics or our money sooth whatever the feminists feel is an abuse from the men in this country? Sorry, No! Changing these little things is silly at best, but really a colossal waste of time and money. People are either happy or they're not, and if they're not, these silly ideas aren't gonna do diddly squat to make them happy...or even content. P.S - I've been shouting at kids since I was a kid.
-
Now, why would that be? I am willing to scrap anything that features men as a show of equality and this is somehow being left behind?
-
Lets face it, nobody is actually offended by our current anthem, at least they weren't until they were told to be. This is a case where women believe men have some advantage and atheists seem to think that those who believe in god are given some advantage - it's all wrong though and women and atheists could't actually give a shit about being included, they just don't want men or God mentioned. If It were up to me, I'd say fine, we'll drop the whole thing - no lyrics! Same with money, women don't actually care about a woman being on the money, they just don't want it to be men - So, just give them what they want and remove all people from the money. None of it matters, feminists won't ever be happy.
-
Same song with no words. Whats so wrong with that? The HNIC theme has no words, why are words even needed?
-
Do you object to removing the lyrics entirely?
-
BTW, It's not "my God". You see, i've learned that we really don't know anything about the topic, and therefore I choose to let people think how they want to think. What bothers me more than somebody believing in God or Gods or Buddah or whatever they believe is the arrogance, certitude, belligerence, patronizing and condescending way people like you treat those who have different beliefs or faith. Things that help some people get through difficult situations can be different for many people and if somebody says that their belief in God helps them through, then I'd have to be a complete a$$hole to contradict that.
-
Have I said anything even remotely close to that? Can you not read? What is it that you people have to argue something that was never said? Uggg! Are you really telling me that your life would be complete if we dropped God and added women? "In all thy Slicks, and women's and gay's and trans's and questioning's command". WoW, it does have a ring. No, lets just drop the entire lyrics all together.
-
I don't have a hate, what I am is sick of the hate. I'm sick of haters trashing God, and I'm sick of feminists trashing men. Will feminists start to for once like men if we change the anthem? Will a deep dark hole finally be filled by doing this? Will you finally accept equality? No, not a single thing will change. There will not be one iota of relief or appreciation or solace - nothing, it'll be on to the next thing that will mean oh so much to the movement. I'm serious, just scrap the lyrics altogether and go with an instrumental, we wouldn't be the first country to that.
-
You can t be any more sure that God is fictitious than those people who believe that there is a greater being. That said, I'd be just as happy to remove all lyrics and let people hum the words that they hear in their head. It would be better that trying to shoehorn in something that either doesn't make sense or doesn't flow. It will never satisfy the feminists or God haters, but it's never been about satisfying them, it's about taking away sht from those that do care.
