  1. I'm not missing that. This thread was derailed on post #2 and the issue soon became about Harper being an angry man. I can't remember a time when I saw him angry, I do however, remember many instances of Cretien being visibly angry. Call the guy a bad politician all you want, but it seems that if you (the general you) don't like a guy, you'll paint him as everything bad. Fact is; he isn't an angry hateful person and he actually is quite smart. You don't like his politics - that's all, why the hyperbole.
  2. I loved that actually! Cretien, however, was very indignant whenever anyone questioned him - much more than Harper
  3. Lots of trolls out this week.

  4. So, "Canada's larger culture is completely dependent on the people who live here. It has always been thus. Richmond is part of what makes Canada what it is, just as much as (probably more than) Kim city". If this is true that the chinese can take over Vancouver/Richmond and have chinese only signs, speak only chinese and hold meetings in the chinese language among other things, what makes you think that once we have a large enough muslim population, they won't do the exact same thing? And you'll allow it, you'll allow Sharia law based on the aforementioned thought "it's what makes Canada what it is".
  5. Of course the point was missed. Every acknowledgement of difference is perceived as discrimination or fear.
  6. I think Kimmy makes a good point about Richmond...or Vancouver. The chinese haven't assimilated, not to western ideals anyway. I don't have any issues with the chinese, but it's clear that Vancouver is adjusting to them more than they're adjusting to Canada. The same thing will happen with the muslims, they'll not politely and go on with their own business until they have es0'ablished communities, then the problems will start. Everything that happens in Canada from art, fashion, politics, philosophy, trends, music, economy etc happens in Europe first. We should be wise to this and learn from it.
  7. It's more likely that to avoid being bigots, certain places will just ban men in general.
  8. I'm glad "Porkey's" made the list.
  9. Ok, I just gotta know, who here actually believes that Islam is a race? If nobody speaks up, I can assume people will stop using the word?
  10. I agree, It is way off topic! But that was the point, to take the issue away from the 1000 odd NYE sex offenders in Germany and try to argue that western men were just as deviant.
  11. Any economy will suck without outside money streaming in, be it municipal, provincial or federal. Money cannot just keep going in circle, it will inevitably be siphoned off and the community will get poorer and poorer - especially in todays world. That's what we see when a mill or mine closes in a community and what were seeing happen in Alberta with the oil business. If outside money isn't coming it, then surely money is trickling out.
  12. I agree with WCR on the SU topic. If your gonna throw out a political comment, why not just step into the ring and have the thought be challenged. Shady and Dialamha currently have SU's that should be arguable topics in the forum.
  13. Exactly! So, why the panic. Build a retaining wall, canals, breakwater - whatever. And...if it is not good enough for some people....move.
  14. I gotta say, I just can't muster any climate change fear. Earth is always changing, everyone wants to live near the ocean, well, that comes at a price. Trying to stop the ocean is futile, these politicians should accept the inevitable and be looking at ways to prepare for the water rise.
  15. Maybe you can access BBC. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35280386
  16. It's Trump's philosophy to use money and influence more than military might when dealing with other nations. He's said a number of times that the USA should have stayed out of Iraq and Afghanistan and used the money more wisely. You people that think Trump is some war monger simply heven't been listening.
  17. Would you get off of your "1% of muslims are bad" crap. Maybe this will give you a better idea of the numbers, not that you'll believe it, but you'll at least understand where some of us are coming from. By The Numbers - The Untold Story of Muslim Opinions & Demographics
  18. http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/robyn-urback-on-the-mass-sex-attack-in-cologne-this-is-rape-culture This is part of the reason why the incident in Cologne was so alarming: it happened in a public square with thousands of people, at one of the largest public gatherings of the year. The perpetrators — as many as 1,000 men, described as drunk and aggressive, reportedly of Arab or North African descent There also seems to be over 500 complaints in Cologne and over 130 in Hamburg
  19. Dialamah - Do you have any idea how hard it would be for me to scare up 35 men who would be willing to sexually assault and mug young girls in the street, let alone 1000?
  20. The silent majority is not the problem - It never is. What were the numbers of people at the NYE celebration in Cologne? The percentage of Muslims was pretty high I would assume if the police were too afraid to intervene. It doesn't matter how many Muslims are in the world, what matters is how many it takes to cause a problem like what we saw in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden. You're trying to claim the there is no cultural difference, but it just doesn't make any sense.
  21. I don't mind that it borrows a lot from IV, what I do mind it that it was so predictable. JJ Abrams can usually show us something different like in Cloverfield, but once you realize the PC'ness, the predictability was sure to follow.
  22. First off, there were 1000 men involved and we're hearing about 50 odd people, so we don't really know how many were refugees and how many were already muslim germans. Second, how come it was convenient for you people to point out that the terrorists in France were french citizens, now it seems to work in your favour that that the rapists were "displaced". What I'm hearing is that there doesn't seem to be much to differentiate home grown muslims from displaced muslims..
  23. This incident didn't happen in the middle of a war zone or disaster, this was at a New Years celebration and all early reports planned. And, it happened in other european cities. Every major city has NYE festivities, and yet there have no reports of any other groups of people sexually assaulting young women en masse. As for your second point; Vancouver says hi!
