Isn't it telling that you (collective "you") have to search for the worst possible acts to compare muslims to? Maybe it would help if you had a thread that delved into all the good things that muslims and Islam have offered the world. You know, talk about all their contributions to the the world of science, technology, environmental causes, human rights and freedoms, the arts, music, literature...that sort of thing.

I had this posted as a response to one of my posts! And nothing! "Hmmm .... oh never mind. :/ oh ... ok ... stfu too. maybe grow up too." I commented to a post in december saying "that was stupid F****ng post". Only I used the real word and was suspended for a month. So, I don't a lot of faith in the interpretations of what is acceptable...or not.

The evidence - of course! The evidence - so far, has not proven anything yet except exactly what he wrote in his letter (post #1). What we've seen so far is two women who had some strange fixation with Ghomeshi that lasted years. A fixation that he didn't reciprocate or even encourage. We were told that he weilded power over these women, yet he held nothing over them, not family, reputation, career, money, not threats - and really seemed to avoid these women except for the odd one night stand and casual encounter. However, this is the evidence so far. If the next witness has something - anything, then things can change. The Crown is desperately trying to make people ignore the facts and rely completely on emotion and sympathy.

Is that a fact? I guess we'll see.

So, you re saying you believe these two witnesses? Based on what? These women ruined his life and career...and the CBC cowardly went along with it. I'd say he's got a pretty good civil case in his future.

A civil suit before a criminal trial is not very smart to begin with. I'm sure the lawyers have said as much too. A civil lawsuit would show their cards before the criminal trial and they clearly don't want that - as we can now see. There is no way he should be convicted, this shouldn't have gone to trial, he shouldn't have even been charged and he likely shouldn't have been fired. We always preach that what two consenting people do in private is nobody's business, and he shouldn't be fired for his sexual preferences any more than a gay couple should be fired for their sexual preferences. Kimmy can say that he probably should've been fired for how he treated women at his job, and maybe he should've, but he wasn't - he was fired over this.

That's great, now see if you can find any articles about men getting railroaded 10 years after the fact because a woman had a tough time dealing with her past.

I half expect the next witness to show up in a wedding dress and propose to the guy or have Ghomeshi produce restraining orders against these women.

US poiltics does have an effect on Canadians, in fact, US politics has an effect on many countries around the world, therefore we are quite in our right to comment. However, why you talk about Canadians (and Canadian politics) when our policies mean absolutely nothing to americans is quite strange. With 40K posts, mostly bashing Canadians, I can't imagine that you ever get out and enjoy your wonderful country any more than I do.

I'll still call Ghomeshi a douche. But wow, is this prosecution team ever bad. Lucy Decoutere is killing them, stalking, secret meetings, sexy pics, love letters? This case should be thrown out and the Crown reprimanded.

Something about this woman's story is weird, I don't know what, but something doesn't add up.

I watched a dude flame away at a poster, reported it at least twice - nothing. I put out the f word a short time later and within 3 minutes i was given a 30 day suspension. Ive since reported other swear words - f words thinly veiled - nothing. I used to think the mods were unbiased.

I don't know! But if this is just about Canada, I'm pretty sure I could make an easier case for "Godaphobia", " Christianaphobia" ...and even one of the most rampant phobias..."Harperaphobia".

Both, I would hope...and assume! However, there doesn't seem to evidence of either.

The Crown certainly looks unprepared, but I don't know how you can explain away the actions of these women post "assault". So far it looks like 2 for 2, that seemed not that bothered by his actions.
