If anything, the academy voters are far to left leaning and seem to vote by political agenda of the day. Special needs have a period of wins, you have the gay friendly movies, Michael Moore and al gore "documentaries", when blacks should win , they do, (and yes, I like Denzel). First woman director...and so on. The academy tries more often to sway left wing agenda then it does discriminate. Of all the movies, how many have black leads, how many were deserving. If there were no black nominees, maybe there just weren't any good performances. How would changing the voters give us better black actors?

So, you're equating our friends in USA and UK with Russia and China? Sorry, just because we had to align with some countries to defeat Germany does not put them in the same category as UK and USA. You people amaze me sometimes!

No, if my friend is in need of help, I don't say "you deserve it", "not my fight", "can't be bothered", or "I can't afford to help you". No, if my friend needs me, I'll give whatever I can and when it comes around, i'll expect (and receive) the same. I feel sorry for you guys who don't have that. The point of allies is that you have each other's backs. Even if you may be the weaker partner, it's important to have you friends back. We've clearly shown that we don't stand with our friends, and they've clearly got the message. I live by the code that I'll stand by my friends. Win or lose, we'll be in it together.

Most people who used common sense thought certain thins were possible, others just wouldn't believe it. So here is what we should've learned over the last couple months. What the left thought vs. what we learned: These terrorists were lone wolves, outcasts from the general muslim society. What we learned from Paris and San Bernardino is that many people, including family and friends were aware of impending terrorist attacks .- and said nothing. Women can't be terrorists! Now we know they can be, not just from San Bernardino but from some other attacks around the world and in Paris. Trudeau wants to let in mainly families because thats safer, what we learned is that these terrorist groups will place people together as families A young mother poses no threat, because hey, they're a loving, nourishing mother. Now we know from San Bernardino that yes, a new mom can be a terrorist. Terrorists are not posing as refugees! But, we know that they are and in fact found a Syrian passport maker. Skyrocketing rape numbers in europe are an anomaly...and may not be muslims (because no numbers are kept). After Germany and Sweden and switzerland and whatever country, we now have learned something - right?

If you can't learn from the incidents in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, France, Great Britain among other countries, then what will it take? Do you really have to wait for mass sexual assaults in Canada before something in your head twigs?

I didn't imply any such thing! What I did imply several (maybe 100) pages back that once certain percentages of population are reached that minorities change and start to show their true nature. History of the world shows this, but more recently, the history of western europe shows this as well.

It is about Canada. You want to see what Canada will look like in a few years, look to western europe. Everything that happens here happens there first. It really should make our decisions easy, but we just can't seem to learn from others mistakes. If i have a friend in Alberta, one in Ontario and one in Nova Scotia who all jump off a bridge and break their leg, I know that If I jump off a bridge in BC, I'll break my leg too. I don't need to actually jump off a bridge to know that. Clearly Justin wants us to learn the hard way.

Regardless of wether we or anyone else deems our involvement significant or symbolic is irrelevant, Sure, they'll allow us to keep out or jets in or allow them to leave, but not being involved in the strategy is embarrassing and a sure sign they just don't care about our involvement. For the Americans and more especially the Brits to tell us to just stay away is a true testament to what they think of our new government.

Higher taxes always come in higher gas prices and higher taxes to the middle class. Trudeaus middle class that he makes promises to, are not what we consider middle class. He considers us upper class. We will have a higher percentage of welfare people than ever before - that's a fact. Every refugee (and who knows how many that will be) will be 100% unemployable. We will have a lower percentage of working people than ever before to pay in yo system. Environmental policies and tax policies will keep foreign money away - hence less jobs. Cost of fuel going up will have direct effect on trucking- prices alway start with cost of transporting goods. Smaller businesses will get hit hardest by this. Minimum wage increase will further strain these businesses. Causing more job loss. Our societal problems will arise from our financial problems- just like France and many other European countries. History can predict the chain of events. As for foreign policy, if we're not with our allies, were against them. Seems harsh, and maybe some hyperbole there, but we will be marginalized by the western countries who do know that it's time to act against our enemies - and yes, we do have enemies. I know WCR , you want a cite of some sort, but it's just my prediction based on a question posed. I know how to connect dots quite well.

No matter how you guys spin it, no matter if you think we should fight ISIS or not, the fact is; our allies have lost faith in us so much so that they don't even want us privy to their meetings. This is a bad sign. An expected turn of events because I think we talked about this possibility in another thread, but this is not good at all.
