  1. No need to disparage the link or sources. My reason for bringing that up was to show how the Fed is behind this and how they are making it stick. If universities are the bastion of progressive liberal thought, they should need no goading to give it support. In fact they should be leading it, not following. But the fact is, there is no problem there (at Uni's), or rather, there is none that these actions truly solve. There MAY be a problem in that research chair positions are mostly filled by male-dominated whites, but only if you choose to look at it with a racist lens. Hence what I call a purely cosmetic fix. The real reason why there are so few non-whites in these positions must be something deeper. Am not even going to try and address the part about excluding cis-genders from applying for positions in STEM and only accepting the 'gender fluid'. It is simply bizarre. Obnoxious could be another word. Some might even say utterly stupid. But that's yer government in action for ya.
  2. Getting back to your comments. Support from whom exactly? Nobody asked me. I didn't see no referendum question. Am sure there are many who don't support the feds domineering methods of control over certain institutions. Here is an example of how it's being done. CAMPUS WATCH: University of Waterloo seeking “gender-fluid” people to fill DEI positions "The University of Waterloo was criticized online over its Canada Research Chairs DEI job postings." Further on: "The University of Waterloo told True North it is 'using the language outlined in the federal requirement.'" I bolded the significant part. I don't know what they're referring to, but it says REQUIREMENT. Now whether that means or else you don't get the funding or don't get accreditation doesn't really matter. It's the liberal government imposing their ideological will in the form of performance standards, whether they are needed or not. Whether they make sense or not. These solutions do not address the real problem, only cover it up and in doing so create a new set of problems. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.
  3. No offense is taken. Like I said, is a free country. Fill your boots.
  4. Not in those ways. I agree it's troubling, or write it off as a mystery. I meant in that he is like a rebel. He stood up to the authorities to try and speak the truth. As a young man I read the bible and was fascinated by this aspect, which made me question all that I knew of him and those who now claim his pedigree. (Priests and churches). He enabled me to believe in a personal, secret relationship between myself and god. That the message is not spoken aloud by a man on his soap box. "If they say to you, 'enter, for Jesus is there.' Do not go. It won't be me. For many a false prophet will come in my name." Shortly afterward, at age 16 I dreamed I walked around through crowds of people, and a face came out of the crowd and said "You know, Jesus is not a person. He is a way of life." And my eyes were opened.
  5. Ahh. For a moment I thought you meant the speaking stones.
  6. You sound so sure. Looking back now I see that Blackbird said the very same thing I did. We both came to the same conclusion in our interpretation of this metaphor. Yet he is a devout christian who reads the bible daily, I am not. See his quote immediately above yours. I bolded the part that made me interpret its meaning this way. Jesus then implores the apostles to accept his sacrifice, and make the same themselves. This echoes his other statements elsewhere in the bible, "pick up your cross and follow me." The apostles were upset with him and tried to persuade him not to go through with it. This is also somewhere in the bible. Go look it up. These interpretations are far more useful and relevant in meaning than simply taking it literally, but you're free to fill your boots with whatever you like. Don't expect everyone else to think you're right.
  7. If you want to take a literal view of biblical writings go ahead. I'm not going to debate your specific beliefs. It's a free country. My view is that religion or spirituality is innate and natural in most all people around the world, and they find meaning in their lives through this form of metaphysical dialogue. That's "spirituality". Religion comes in when it is given structure, through a moral code. Like a set of rules or laws we agree upon to bring ethics and civility. I look at outcomes as the main thing. I personally have moved beyond Christianity to appreciate the religions of mankind from all over the world, which helps me understand humanity better. But I still retain the many things I have learned through it, and 'Jesus' is still my hero, symbolically. To me being 'saved' as you ask in the op is a process, not a moment in time. No one is saved, imo.
  8. I think the poster is not really a Christian, but seeks to pick your beliefs apart by taking a literalist view of bible writings. Like someone who's an atheist might do. Or a kid. I flew in an airplane once. We went over the clouds. There was no heaven.
  9. Well I'm no biblical scholar and it's been a while since I cracked the good book, but I think he was saying in those quotes that he was going to give up his life for the world. And that is why they were upset with him. 🤷‍♂️
  10. You made two conflicting statements in a row. On the one hand, everything is politicized now. Next, it's ok for celebs to join in the fun. There are plenty of people who want to keep politics out of the dialogue when it comes to sports and the arts. We don't need to have divisive conversations about things that can't be resolved. Some would rather just enjoy the football match, not talk about political conflicts all the time. A celebrity has millions of followers. It's not like when you and me make a statement. Yes they can still express themselves, it's a free country, but then they open themselves up to the same level of criticism as anyone else. Can't have it both ways. I don't see why you have a problem with that. Other than, you are politicized about everything as well and showing your bias in protecting her. At the NHL all star game one of the anthem singers wore a palestinian cardigan. It turns out she had been making anti-Israeli statement on her public media since the attack in October. Even going so far as to say Jewish people should "stay the f*ck at home". I guess to you that's simply 'expressing her views.' How many Jewish people were in the arena attending, and why was that necessary? I don't see why you don't have a problem with that. But again, because you are politicized about everything as well and showing your bias. It's all good, as long as they're singing the song the way you like. Don't forget to polish your halo today. Oh and maybe read a book once in a while, that would probably be a good idea in your case. Learn some history,
  11. The fed is not doing what I would consider the status quo, they are clearly bent on social re-engineering of Canada. To what end I'm not sure. I would not be against some of the changes they have introduced if they were more well thought out. As it is, seems overly obsessed with making 'progress', but not interested in dealing with the fallout that affects Canadians. Things like the housing crisis come to mind as another example. Helping refugees and the poor is a good idea if done properly, but government bungling ends up creating more problems. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
  12. He may also simply be saying step back, let them fall on their own swords. Like it or not, agree with it or not, this is a big part of Canada's national dialogue right now. Asking people to ignore it and move on is not possible. I put the blame for this (apparent distraction) squarely on one person - the Prime Minister.
  13. It's also interesting that there are voices in the medical AND gay community that are against all the transgender rights for pre-pubescent children wokism spewing forth from, essentially the top. They say it is wrong for the same reason parents are saying it. They don't see the need to want to alter your bidy as essential to acceptance of one's inner feelings of sexual attraction and identification. In other words as one person said, 'I am a gay man and attracted to other men, and there is nothing wrong with that which needs correcting.' Some are calling it "The new conversion therapy".
  14. That's like funda-MENTALISM. Jesus often spoke in parables. He said so, if I recall, which means you have to 'get' his metaphors.
  15. Waiting for him to complain. He wants to go FIRST, not forth.
  16. Everybody's a hitler to the left these days. The good 'ole reductio ad hitlerum gets 'em every time.
  17. Not exactly what you asked, no. I didn't give names and addresses, but showed you one person. I am not here to provide all you ask. Go forth young man and boldly read the news yourself. Stay up to date!
  18. Anyone who's raised kids will be keenly aware that they are very naive and easily fooled into doing anything. Heck, they even had to censor cartoons so they wouldn't club each other in the head with a shovel. That's called vulnerable to suggestion. Now, I'ma flood you with information to make you uncertain if you're a boy or a girl. And you will be. I think that's what parents want, the right to change the channel.
  19. Your post-Ukrainian war revisionism does not phase me. Yanukovich was voted as president in an election deemed fair by outside observers at the time. In the following wlection two years later, his party won by what was called a landslide victory. But since he chose not to sign an agreement to join a free-trade partnership with europe, claiming he did not feel Ukraine's economy was ready for it YET, he became the enemy of globalists and US imperialists. They funded the opposition movement that eventually led to his ouster to the tune US $5 billion. Quick now, go and google some more links.
  20. Well if true, the BC populace have voted democratically for the government they have. Now let them eat "crow".
  21. They provided the funding and instigated the social unrest that lead to the removal of Yanukovich, by dividing the populace. This war was a few years in the making, by political subversion. That is how we roll these days.
  22. I'm sure the US establishment's fondness for forever wars appeals to the likes of you, people who buy into the party line without question. So I will never convince you that you're being lied to. Would not want to wake you people up from your safe, comfortable dreams. Meanwhile in those far away lands that lay in ruin thanks to US superpower hegemony, the people being bombed into the stone age for ideological "democracy" may have a very different opinion. We may never hear it.
  23. Well, let he who is without sin do so then. Except there are none. Looking back at your posts I see you haven't changed your mind at all. You've been a never-trumper consistently. Am now wiping off my boots here. Adieu
  24. My innovative approach to EV's is far better than the model being proposed currently. Rather than installing charging stations and putting them in homes, with all that it implies on infrastructure and demand, have battery replacement stations. You drive in, a robotic device removes the battery and installs a fresh one within just a few minutes. This solves multiple problems. - No need for high current power supplies in every home. - No need to rewire the electrical grid across the province. - Batteries are properly charged and maintained at battery stations, which effectively replace gas stations. - Very fast compared to hours of charge time. -Standardized battery forms that can be carried by tow trucks for field replacement. - I should get a job as head of engineering for Elon Musk, and become a billionaire.
  25. It's a good one. I am not buying an ev and waiting for the technology to to evolve to thw inevitable and logical outcome - cars powered by human beings.
