  1. Yep. @robosmith can figure out what Uncle Joe is saying, apparently by osmosis. The rest of us are left with this...
  2. The original poster has been corrected numerous times that Trump's work with NATO countries while he was president resulted in a massive cash injection to bolster the strength of NATO, after which Jens Stoltenberg, head of NATO, gave Trump his heartfelt thanks and full recognition. https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_170796.htm Transcript here- https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/opinions_171542.htm?selectedLocale=en "We are making real progress, most importantly on the burden sharing. And your leadership on defense spending is having a real impact. Since 2016, Canada and European allies have added $130 billion more to the defense budgets, and this number will increase to 400 billion U.S. dollars by 2024. This is unprecedented. This is making NATO stronger. And it shows that this Alliance is adapting, responding when the world is changing." Yes it probably took some threats to get the long-standing deadbeats, who want NATO protection but do not pay their agreed-to commitment to pony up. I've posted this link numerous times here but these never-trumpers simply do not listen. Oh well, whatayagonnado? 🤷‍♂️
  3. Thank you both for the defence. Rather than looking at themselves and trying to improve themselves, some people need to have a bogeyman that they can blame for our social problems. This doesn't faze me. I don't mind a few jokes sent my way but am not interested in engaging with those who are simply being miserable trolls. Mainly I feel sad for them. Oh well. "Each gives of his own store". 🤷‍♂️
  4. Kindly Joe Biden doesn't mind to blow the urine out of some people around the world, while Donny refused to annihilate the Iranian oil production facility after they shot down a US drone, because there were about 150 Iranian workers at the site. As he said at the time, to paraphrase, "Losing a $10M drone is not worth killing all those people." US Generals of course went 'ballistic'. They wanted to get rid of him so bad. Had it been Uncle Joe at the time? WHAMMMO!!! Then he would come on the camera and smile and make nice cooing sounds, so you would feel all happy. Such a kind man...
  5. No one even knows what Uncle Joe is promising anymore. Hard to figure out what he means. Apparently he greets everyone as the King of Mexico...
  6. I think here you mean you enjoyed what they were saying, not how they were saying it. In the opening post I assumed you were talking about style and verbal clarity. I agreed with much that Pierre Trudeau said, especially the part about the state not having any business in the bedrooms of Canadians. His son needs to take a page from that. Mr. Levesque, I don't know him. I defer to your opinion... if you say so. Mr. Mulroney spoke english very well, but I neither enjoyed what he said, nor how he said it!
  7. Yes, very true. Good observation. Reminds me of my coworker from Bangladesh. He was a very nice person. I was sad when his contract ended and they let him go. I would rather have a team of people I get along with well and who care about the work, even if they aren't the most brilliant technically, than the reverse. A team of brilliant but arrogant and difficult personality types. As I say to my boss when we are hiring, I can teach anyone technology, but not personality. When I go out and see people in the street, such as a young man in a turban, I remind myself they are frequently very nice people. All you need to do is say a kind word and the smiles and good feelings come out. There is a common thread among all people around the world, we want to care about one another, we care about our families. We all love our moms. Tonight my Chinese friends are all having a wonderful meal at the church they go to. They might even have a drink of champagne or something else they like, who knows? It doesn't take much for them to get drunk, but hey, as long as they don't get too carried away! Love people. See past race, see past their sexual identity. We all struggle to find our place in this world. <Group Hugs....>
  8. None of them spoke particularly well in my opinion. Trudeau snr may have been the best of the three you listed, and he presented himself as an intellectual. He set the bar for Canadian liberal values especially for his time. Levesque, I could not understand him. His English was pretty bad and besides, he could never represent all of Canada, was just a foil for Quebecer seperatism. Mulroney, I did not trust him. When he spoke, his mouth was too small.
  9. All the west / US is doing is perpetuating the conflict to weaken Russia, their enemy. Is nothing to do with Ukraine and their democracy, that's just an excuse used to leverage the war. They are being used as pawns in the superpower conflict. I can only pity them, the Ukrainians are in a lose-lose situation. It's a win for the US. The right thing to do is have a ceasefire and a discussion. Same goes with the Israel- Palestine war. While Israel had the right to attack Hamas after what happened, they've reached the point of diminishing returns and cannot rout them all out as they wanted to. It increasingly looks like genocide. The definition of irony.
  10. There are in fact different kinds of people who identify as conservative you know, not just all heavy bible-thumpers. Fiscal conservatives, for example, or those who would conserve nature. I identify with them more than with bible thumpers, but I tolerate them all the same. I am a Canadian, was brought up through our system to learn to be tolerant. Yes, I do tend to be cautious about rushing to change things, but also know that change is needed sometimes. Most people are a spectrum of views. To polarize them is a mistake, and a form of bigotry. Snobbish ness. It is, in fact part of the same 'us or them' mentality that divides us. I take a liberal position on some things, conservative on others. Whatever you are, I don't care I just want you to be fair and rational. We had a former member of this forum move to the US some years ago. He wrote back that he was kinda shocked at how much race comes into the daily dialogue there. I understand what he means. Especially the black thing. More to the point, them Chinamen, or Muslims or what have you, all like to hire their own 'kind'. They all like to talk in their native language. Again I don't mind, just making an observation, this is not simply a 'whites' issue. It's also human nature. It has always been my impression that racism in the US is on a larger level in general compared to Canada, so I don't relate.
  11. I knew that little word would trigger someone. Turns out it was you. Who knew, eh? lol. If you read what I said in its entirety, they admire me very much. I am accommodating toward their cultural needs. Meanwhile a lot of 'liberals' at my workplace, people who think they are so understanding didn't even know it was Chinese New Year tonight, let alone how to even say it. But you carry on fella... give self a pat on the shoulder...
  12. Saying whites are or were the 'default choice', especally for conservatives is not fair either. Racism will not go away, and may never, until we see beyond skin colour or race/ religion. But clearly that is hard for people to do. All people feel a kinship with those of the same race or culture. Even within a race, white Italians prefer to hire other Italians, etc. Same with muslims, or Chinese or what have you. One simple reason is language. My work currently has a group of chinamen in our employ. I think they're all nice people. They do however like to converse with one another in their own language, which some find annoying. It's not ideal because the rest of us would like to know what's going on. But there is little I can do. Overall, I see no harm in it. Today, I wished them 'Gung xe fa choi', and they were beaming in appreciation. It is what it is. 🤷‍♂️
  13. I listened with interest to the whole thing. That doesn't mean I believe the pure truth was revealed, these are superpowers after all. Still, Putin's description of the history of events leading up to the war echoed exactly what I've been saying here for over a year now, even including the part about EU trade negotiations and the US cash injection $5B dollars to create political unrest. Putin even mentioned that Yanokovych's decision to decline on the EU trade deal was not permanent and there may be a time in the future when they would be ready to accept. So I can't say I learned much from watching it except, I was right again...
  14. It wasn't just house republicans who voted against it. Some voted for it as well. "Four Republicans voted to advance the bill, including lead Republican border negotiator Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) as well as Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). The measure also lost five Democrats, including Sens. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)." So much for your accusations. It lost by a very close margin. "The bill failed to advance 49-50, falling short of the 60-vote threshold." But they are still working on it. Looks like democracy in action. 🤷‍♂️
  15. I only tried to answer your questions fairly. But hey, I don't want to waste anyone's time, so will leave you bandy it about here with the rest of the gang.
  16. You ask for sites a lot, but rarely have I seen you give any. Maybe you should. In any case you are able to look for information yourself. But for this specific case I troubled myself to do it for you. Here is a google search link that I used, you can peruse the results yourself. https://www.google.com/search?q=canada+parents+upset+school+distributed+inappropriate+material+to+students Do you have a cite for this claim showing there is actual legislation to that effect? Or is it simply understood as 'medical ethics'? Because this is legislation being proposed, where medical ethics can be a slippery slope that may change based on opinion. You make it sound like there is nothing being changed here. If that were the case, why the backlash and outcry from the federally bought media and lgbtx activists? Obviously that must be false.
  17. 2. I assume in the first place that the number of people wanting gender reassignment surgery is very low. I saw some numbers like < 1%. But since this whole issue "blew up" in the media I saw some numbers indicating interest in it among youth has risen to 3%. Assuming 3/0.5, that's a six-fold increase. We know children are highly vulnerable to suggestion and persuasion, and some of this increase is due to that. How many does it take before it becomes a problem, in your opinion? 3. There has to be some kind of a number. Just as there are some kids who are more mature than others at a younger age, but they still can't legally drink alcohol or drive a car, or have sex. They simply have to wait before making such a permanent, life-altering decision. 4. This point gives respect and acknowledgement to people who want to raise their children in conservative ways. For example devout religious people, Christians, Muslims and Jews. They deserve to be comfortable and feel safe as well as liberals. 5. There have been documented cases of teachers bringing in guest speakers, including one incident I'm aware of where a rep. from a consulting was invited to speak in the classroom. They distributed material to the students that was deemed inappropriate by some parents. Law suits can come into play. The school needs to protect itself and the students from harm. 7, 8. These age limits are based on guidelines given by professionals, child psychologists for the majority of students. There are exceptions, but they simply have to wait. See 3.
  18. That's all the good stuff you get to hear about, which they love to crow from the rooftops. There are many other, far less good things they do in other countries as well. Superpowers, 'n all. No of course not. That's why pencils have erasers. But I will take a world under US hegemony over the god-damned commies, that's for sure. Land of the free. Plus we get Mickey Mouse...
  19. There you go, slappy. And a little 'ol $5B cash injection by the US to improve their 'demockracy' never hurt, neither! Well it did. But hey. Those 51% who voted him in and gave his party a majority shouldn't count. They were probably a buncha stupid Trump supporters anywayz.
  20. Actually feel quite sorry for Hunka. People who know the history of the war understand, they fought with the Nazis to defeat the soviets. You were either on one side or another. BTW there is no way that Zelensky didn't know this when he was introduced to Hunka in the HOC. Hunka led a quiet life until one day he was asked by his local MP to participate in the ceremony for Zelenski. Poor f*cker. He was 98 years old. He had no idea what was coming. I heard his family was not aware of this invite. Had they been, they might have told him to decline. Now, people are looking to have him extradited to face charges in a European court room. Poland's education minister says he's 'taken steps' to extradite Yaroslav Hunka Russian authorities request extradition of 98-year-old SS veteran Yaroslav Hunka from Canada Also, "Mr. Hunka did not keep his role in the Ukrainian SS division secret. Thirteen years ago, he wrote an essay about his time in the SS unit for an American online magazine focused on Ukrainian war veterans. He says he volunteered at the age of 18 out of a sense of duty to protect his homeland from the Soviets." - Globe and Mail So Mr. Trudeau has completely pooched this guy. Another Liberal kiss of death. Although, there is no recent news about this that I can find. No doubt Liberals are seeing to it that this be kept as quite as possible, to protect Dear Leader.
  21. Some do, but not all of them. Those who elected Yanokovych legally, fair and square, did not. But then the globalists saw to it that he would be illegally overthrown. This was a moment not unlike the assassination of the Archduke by a mad Serb. It tripped the switch that caused the war.
  22. It's alright, you're free to keep it on Disney channel. No one will take that away from you. I'll be watching, in order to judge whether the man is lying or not. To look into his eyes, see if he has a soul...
  23. Absolute BS. I know a lot of good kids and good families. Almost all kids go through a difficult time in their teens, and every parent prays they grow out of it without causing themselves IRREPARABLE HARM. Fortunately up till now, the vast majority do. Then they may say, "Mom and Dad, I'm sorry for the hell I caused you when I was at that age." and we move on. What you people are endorsing is to let them harm themselves, "because they are people and have the right to." They are not. Not the same as adults. Maybe you would like to give them drugs and alcohol too, as they see fit. Maybe you can even provide it to them, secretly from your own door, because, they should be allowed to have secrets. See how far that gets you.
