  1. While it seems fantastical I would not give this curmudgeon of a human being the benefit of the doubt
  2. Interesting points. I read that now Poland is going to ask to have him extradited. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/yaroslav-hunka-poland-minister-extradite-1.6978266
  3. Because they wouldn't do the fentanyl at that stage, they're not totally f*cked up yet. Modern parenting: "Thank god, little Johnny's only doing crack."
  4. We hear stories from the street saying the hard drug users get "safe supply" from these sites but they turn around and sell it to buy fentanyl. That is what they actually prefer. They've gotten to a point where they don't give a sheeit if they die. The high is everything.
  5. I said the government needs to provide resources so that the people on the ground can give them treatment. Without providing treatment, government-sanctioned safe spaces could make things worse. And that is common sense, whether you believe in it or not.
  6. Yep. Look away, Dixieland. But who needs to even argue by stats? Let common sense prevail. Yes we should help substance abusers by providing them a safe space, clean needles that can be safely disposed of, and medical assistance on site. But is not enough. In fact it could make it worse because all it does is provide safer access. The hardcore addict is thus conveniently enabled to enjoy their drug habit, but what they also need is treatment for addiction.
  7. Off to goose-stepping school are we?
  8. Totally agree, and we know which way we are going with this. The problem is deeper than these government fish-heads can resolve. With their half-measures, can only make it worse.
  9. Climate change is always happening in nature. It's irrational for humans to think we can keep the climate the same to suit us. Also climate change has not truly arrived yet, since global temperature average is only slightly increased. Not at the safety threshold set by the Paris accord. But we are heading towards it. What we see now is just a spate of bad weather. Forest fires are started for lots of reasons. To label it as "climate change" risks ignoring real issues that could mitigate the problem, all the while fixated by fear of global warming and doing nothing of any significance about it. My opinion we cannot stop it, slow it down or influence it significantly in any way, for a variety of reasons. Lack of cooperation is but one. Learning to adapt will be the most important thing moving forward.
  10. 500 M? Maybe you don read so good. I read somewhere the total take on Canadian taxpayers backs is now around 10 billion. That's a lotta money we could give to starving indian kids, and for the tranny liberation cause. Wouldn't that make you feel good about yourself if we did that?
  11. This is why they needed and wanted Brexit.

"The UN Refugee Agency has rebuked UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman over her claims that world leaders have failed to reform the global refugee system due to fears of being branded as “racist or illiberal” and that the asylum framework is creating “huge incentives for illegal migration.”

The UN statement followed the UK home secretary’s speech at the conservative American Enterprise Institute in Washington on Tuesday, in which she refused to rule out leaving the international convention and questioned whether it was “fit for our modern age” amid what she claimed was a crisis of illegal immigration for the West."

And we in Canada are doing the same thing, bringing in too many people without the resources such as housing, jobs and healthcare to support them. Some are living on the streets in Canada, creating a new ghetto and forcing them to turn to crime to support their needs.

Canadians, wake up to the reality they are facing in the UK.

What has changed is whar we talked about already. EU nationals can't come and go as they please. That means lazy and worthless bums from Greece can't just up and move there, and go on the UK dole and cost them in things like healthcare.

Meanwhile the level of illegal immigration has gone up while creating ghettos since there are not enough homes and jobs to support them. Sounds familiar. This is a world wide issue.

The debate hinges on taking the right course of action. Removing economic refugees from their homeland is not the only option, they can be helped without relocating.   Keeping them in their own lands may be arguably better for everybody in the long run.

    3. Aristides

      Aristides

EU residents came to the UK to live and work, not go on the dole. Do you think no other EU countries have social safety nets? Now that they are gone, there aren't enough Brits to do the jobs they didn't want before. Pity.

Being part of the EU meant British citizens were also free to live and work anywhere in the EU.

Short term pain for long term gain. A price the British were willing to pay. Not to worry, they have that famous British stoicism. Keep a stiff upper lip, old boy.

  12. "Look away, Dixieland."
  13. They're now calling for the house speaker to resign. That's pretty close. Sacrificial lamb... fall on your sword to protect Justin.
  14. Don Cherry refuses to apologize for ‘you people’ rant in aftermath of poppy controversy People have lost their careers and livelihood for less than you have done. He's just old...
  15. It was just funny, is all. Nothing personl. but you really stepped in it that time. Literally hoisted by your own petard
  16. It was already hard enough to get young people to want to join the RMCP and other police forces because of messaging from our politicians when they voiced support for BLM and their radical anti-police message. City councils even went so far as to voice support and talk about defund the police movements. Leading to a serious shortage of officers. Insufficient resources, poor planning, loss of experienced veteran officers to train the new ones. Now things like this happen. How can it not be inevitable. We have turned our backs on them, and on our own civility. ==== "Then shall come a great undoing of man and beast."
  17. Never mind the bollocks. Canada manages to pony up another $650 M for the war in Ukraine. This on top of the just recently announced $500M, if my memory is correct. Wasn't that just a few months ago? Gee, that's a lotta indian money you could have gave away there, or help the rising number of poor children in Canada. It's yer tax dollars in action, suck on that next time you go to the grocery store or make any purchase. That 10% inflation goes right into Trudeau's pocket. "The multi-year commitment includes $650 million over three years for 50 armoured vehicles that are to be built in London, Ont. Friday's announcement brings Canada's total committed support to Ukraine to more than $9.5 billion since the beginning of 2022, according to a news release."
  18. Far as I understand accurate records go back about 200 years. Beyond that there is other evidence showing changes in climate, or let's just call it data, such as records in ancient writing, and the study of rock and minerals. From these we're not out of whack yet. It's been worse. Anecdotally another cold summer in eastern ON. Several years in a row now, but hey, who's really counting Weather fine.
  19. So what. Every parent wants to know everything their child is going through. That's a no-brainer. Stick to academics, keep your personal ideas about societal reform out of it.
  20. Quite sure it's mandatory to give all children in Canada an education. Parents are allowed to teach at home or make their own private school, but it has to meet provincial standards. You have to teach the curriculum. I think that's all parents are asking teachers to do here. Stop this extra-curricular stuff. Also that no adult should have a secret with any child that their parents don't know about.
  21. So I see that Zelensky is on another of his world tours, is back in Canada to give another speech to patliament. No doubt he needs billions more $$, now that some countries (like Poland) have started to pull back on their funding. Could it be the gravy trains coming to an end? Well it was a helluva good run. But surely our globalist spitzbub PM will manage to pony up a few more billion. They got a surplus with the tax windfall, price increases and interest rates. That's right, chumps. The war is being carried on your back. Next up, conscription. Send in the kids.
  22. We already got that going on in hospitals here in ON. Started about two weeks ago. They're nuts, imo. This time I think more people have wised up and there will be significant backlash. Could be Trudeau's final undoing.
