  1. There's plenty more. The fact that he raised it, joke or not, was a waste of time. He needs to stop wasting Canadian's time on issues like these that are unimportant.
  2. But, but, but... is that like robbery versus armed robbery?
  3. Yep. Evidently the poster knows nothing about beer.
  4. In that case we could save a lot of money by asking Trudeau and his team to stop going to the US and lobbying to keep NAFTA, since it isn't worth much.
  5. That's not the case for what I buy.
  6. We don't get to see much of the Olympic hockey in my area. They've only shown a few games so far, and then only very late at night. What we do get is as much Curling as we can handle, which for me is none at all. Couldn't care less about that "sport", but I suspect the events we get to see has a lot to do with the cost of licencing to broadcast an event.
  7. "HuMANkind."
  8. He's either out to sabotage the PC party, or a complete idiot. I'll go with the latter. I sure hope not because putting that twisted b_tch in charge for another term is political suicide for Ontarians. I like the party position to dismantle her childhood sex ed program. No more teaching 6 year olds about anal sex and blow jobs. As for the candidates, never heard of most of them. I'm not into anyone whose Dad makes her famous, as though that somehow qualifies her to be Premier. I hated Mulroney anyway, and the idea of him being even indirectly involved makes me sick. Doug's the only one making sense, and he has the right image to go all the way.
  9. You can read the entire, very interesting  Mueller report here-

    Link

    Highlights:
    - Russian agents funded political protests on both sides, with the intent to increase division in society.
    - The goal was to spread distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general.
    - The project had multiple components, some targeting foreign audiences in various countries.
    - Conspirators also created thematic group pages on social media sites, including the Black Lives Matter movement (with group names including "Blacktivist"), "United Muslims of America" and "Army of Jesus")' and certain geographic regions within the United States (with group names including "South United" and "Heart of Texas"). By 2016, the size of many organization-controlled groups had grown to hundreds of thousands of online followers. The goal was to create distrust of the police and government authorities, and to divide the country.
    - Much more...

LonJowett,  Unlike the reckless  Trudeau (who jumped right away believing the Muslim girl-hijab-scissor incident, and the latest Stanley-Boushie controversy), Trump was being diplomatic as the nation's leader.

He can't jump to conclusions without any evidence..... after all, there are pro-Clinton and anti-Trump  in the establishment that want to get rid of him at whatever cost.  Claiming he is pro-Russia is one of them.

Ask yourself:  why was Trump defending Russia even when he's being accused of colluding with Putin?  You'd think he'll distance himself real fast!  Because there was no evidence at the time!!!

  10. He should have, but didn't. Resignation is admission of guilt. To come back now and try to regain the position you quit from in disgrace just a few weeks ago, is utterly stupid. Guy's a fruitcake.
  11. Terrorists are in the habit of using motor vehicles to run over large numbers of people. Therefore ban all cars...
  12. Perhaps you, and everyone who reacted against Trump are Putin's lapdog. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of 13 Russian nationals on Friday confirms Russia sought to promote anti-Trump protests after the election as a way of sowing discord in American society. Russian operatives organized a rally titled “Trump is NOT my President” in New York City on Nov. 12, 2016, less than a week after the election, the indictment states. Link The Russians indicted for meddling in the 2016 presidential contest were also behind anti-Trump rallies after the election, prosecutors said Friday, revealing another aspect of Russia’s alleged interference as it worked to sow discord in the United States. “After the election, the defendants allegedly staged rallies to support the president-elect while simultaneously staging rallies to protest his election,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said in a Friday press conference. Link A political Trump rally held in the fall of 2016 in the Queen City was allegedly organized by Russians, according to a 37 page indictment released on Friday. Link Sixteen thousand Facebook users said that they planned to attend a Trump protest on Nov. 12, 2016 organized by the Facebook page for BlackMattersUS, a Russian-linked group that sought to capitalize on racial tensions between black and white Americans. The event was shared with 61,000 users. Link This is only the tip of the iceberg.
  13. Many don't even know how to read or write.
  14. His hair is actually what makes him strong- like the biblical Samson.
  15. Surprising result against Slovenia, who are not known to be a very good hockey team. Perhaps because no NHL players. Might make for an interesting tournament!
  16. Maybe that will change once they smoke some of that legal wacko tobacco. Or as you hippies like to say, "Mellow out, man."

  18. Any attempt to enforce rules over race in the selection of a jury implies that racism exists in the legal system, and maintaining such rules actually perpetuates the idea of racism.

  19. She looks like she'd wipe your face with a poison rag at the first opportunity.
  20. What makes you think the women's team Canada could not beat an NHL team?
  21. I don't see that as a problem with women's hockey, just that the other countries need to step up. What I do love about women's hockey is the opportunity to watch it with my daughters. Especially when they were young it was an inspiration for them. Team Canada and USA are so good they could blow away most men's teams, including NHL. To me, that isn't a problem either.
  22. Several people who are knowledgeable about the law, politics and political interference have come forward to criticize the Liberals (as well as the NDP's Singh) for weighing in on a case that may not be fully resolved yet. Toronto criminal lawyer Sean Robichaud (tweeted) it was "wholly inappropriate for elected officials to publicly undermine findings of a lawfully delivered verdict, particularly when it is one of a jury." In an interview, Robichaud said any public comments from the prime minister or justice minister questioning the credibility of the judiciary pose a threat to Canada's democratic system, in which the courts are equal to the legislature. They could also have the reverse effect of what Trudeau and Wilson-Raybould may want, he added, by making it more difficult to appeal the decision because of perceptions any future jury would be tainted. Link This last point is the one I raised here in this thread. It becomes increasingly difficult to appoint an unbiased jury when the PM and other ministers give their "opinion" on a case, especially when they most likely don't even know all the details themselves. I suggest you do some research and learn how the law works, before attacking forum members based on your position of ignorance.
