  1. Yes, I was told here that the Nazi comparison was ridiculous because the accusations against the Jews were racial and not about public health. I knew that was incorrect but I needed to go back to a book I had to confirm. Yes, It was absolutely framed as a public health issue in the beginning. Jews were said to be the carriers and spreaders of Typhoid. The Nazi propaganda machine of media and doctors force-fed the public "evidence" that convinced everyone that typhus was not a public health issue for everyone, only that the Jews were the cause of it all ("pandemic of the unvaccinated", anyone?) For this reason, at the start of the Nazi propaganda, Jews were restricted form everyday life, denied employment, Jewish businesses were blacklisted and it ended in the Kristallnacht. German doctors and public health officials in the Nazi regime helped advance these antisemitic ideas. They did not acknowledge that the German invasion of Poland and the creation of Jewish ghettos were actually responsible for creating typhus epidemics in occupied Poland by imposing hunger, poverty, overcrowding, and unsanitary conditions.3 Instead, German medical professionals published essays claiming that Jewish people’s supposedly “low cultural level” and "uncleanliness" were to blame. The respected status of German physicians helped spread the lie that Jews were responsible for spreading typhus. Concerned only with preserving the health of German personnel, German public health officials in occupied Poland repeatedly urged occupation authorities to isolate Jews further from the rest of the population and deny them access to medicine.4 Their professional medical advice was used to rationalize the creation of Jewish ghettos throughout occupied Poland.5 German occupation authorities used propaganda posters like this one to spread these unfounded justifications for the isolation of Jews from Polish society. Propaganda Poster: “Jews Are Lice: They Cause Typhus” | Experiencing History: Holocaust Sources in Context (ushmm.org) If you don't see the similarities to how the German government, media and doctors divided German society to foment hatred against a group, then you are willfully blind and I fear for our future. Recently, Trudeau was campaigning and angrily called unvaxxed people "THOSE people" who were destroying Canada. Remember when Don Cherry was fired for saying that about a different group because it was divisive? I remember that. Absolutely, our government, media and medical are becoming a propaganda machine that is demonizing one segment of society.

  2. I saw a post on Facebook ( a friend of a friend) who said her daughter had the sniffles one day, so she kept her home from school that Thursday and Friday. By Monday, she was fine and went back to school. She said, "I did not haul her in to get tested or make a big deal of her sniffles. That's how this hysteria ends." I couldn't have agreed more.

  4. It is wrong. It just got real around our place. The level of absolute betrayal we feel right now from our government, who we elect and trust to work for us, not against us, is honestly difficult to put into words.

  5. Here's another news item that tells me there won't be any "returning to normal" any time soon: Justin Trudeau: "We have reached an agreement with Pfizer....This deals includes options to add 30 million doses in both 2022 and 2023, and an option for 60 million doses in 2024." Note how the number of anticipated booster doses doubles in 2024. Very ambitious.

  7. 1. Well... you care about OTHER things in life, Mr. Clarity 2. With a breezy pleasure that comes from just talking and not caring ? Dunno... have you ever had a conversation with an Aires woman, and you're both drunk, and you are at a cast party for a contact-improv performance piece about the patriarchy ? No ? What's wrong with you ?

  8. You do realize that the Nuremberg trials took place quite a while AFTER everything went down, right? You do realize that the scientists and doctors who were complicit in the crimes were executed, right? So, yes. I believe any scientist, doctor, politician should be charged with crimes against humanity. I also believe that when the Allied soldiers marched the German citizenry through the camps to see what they had participated in and turned a blind eye to and forced them to bury the bodies, that was a little bit of justice. I wonder why you are arguing nitpicky points instead of addressing the actual points? I do hope that people like you who went along with the government's propaganda and gleefully took rights and privileges away from their fellow citizens, mocking them the entire time - also receive the justice you deserve. I have no issue with people who chose the vax. It's their decision. It's the smug mocking of others and the willfully blind support of clear governmental propaganda and overreach that makes you culpable.

  9. Hate speech is a legal term in Canada. Can you show us any case law where mis-gendering someone was considered hate speech? They don’t even need to be found guilty…. Can you even show where anyone was prosecuted for that?

  10. You think the world is controlled by Satan, and yet you think it’s a periphery issue? Shouldn’t that be the most important issue ever? Of course! Everyone has beliefs. What about the causes of disease? Certainly the bible doesn’t say anything about germs causing disease. It mentions disease being the results of sin. But we now know, through the same scientific method as we know about evolution, that diseases are caused by germs. Why, if Satan was controlling science, would he have given us germ theory…. Should we be thanking Satan for that? Thanks you Satan for saving countless millions of lives and alleviating suffering by allowing us to discover Germ Theory. Couldn’t the same thing be said of people who believe the bible to be true?

  11. Who needed mandates that caused and causing controversy and backlash when voluntary compliance was high and vaccination levels increasing? Was it done to distract attention of the public from dismal state of the public health system, "substandard," "in crisis", "crumbling" on which countless public billions were spent over decades?

  12. Enough, enough of cases, airlifted, ICU babble. This doesn't happen in normal countries. There's no shortage of resources in the systems of standard quality with competent professionals in managing the disease, not the population. They have achieved much better results without having to shut everything down once. Every time scary cases, shortages, (inflated) ICU etc mentioned as purported reason it is actually an excuse for ineptitude, incompetence and ineffective waste of public resources, including on obscene compensations and entitlements of the management. And excuses only encourage these practices and as a logical issue, dismal state of the system to continue - indefinitely.

  13. You’re ignorant of history if you think Ryerson was an architect of Residential Schools. It’s like saying that Thomas Jefferson was the architect of the Civil War. Different era and context. Clearly context doesn’t matter. Yes we could revert to numbers instead of names. We could do that for people too. I’m sure William Blake would have much to say about a world in which humans are reduced to numbers. Remove all qualities. Dehumanize people and places. Hitler did that.

  15. I think the general public has succumbed to the constant bombardment of fear and panic that generates clicks in the media. Those tears are performative. Unfortunately Alberta couldn’t sustain a resistance. Perhaps Texas and Florida can. It’s no accident that Americans are migrating to those states in droves.

  16. Colossians 2:16 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” King James Version (KJV) Also see: BIBLE VERSES ABOUT LAW AND GRACE (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

  17. Good question. The answer for me is I have been blessed to have been exposed to dispensational theology beginning through a Minister at a church I attended. Then books and articles on the internet on the dispensations. This divides the Bible into different ages or dispensations. The Old Testament, which you quoted, only applies to the nation of Israel at that time or age in history. The church age began in the New Testament age or age of grace. The beginning of the Church age is described in the beginning of the book of Acts. Therefore the Church is not under the Old Testament laws and commandment given to Israel in the first five books of the Bible. Although the ten commandments for the most part are universally accepted as applicable today, perhaps because their principles are re-stated in the New Testament in some ways. In regard to the sabbath laws, that was strictly directed to the nation of Israel in Old Testament times and does not apply to the Church today. But the principle of a day of rest of one day in seven is a universal principle because God rested on the seventh day after he created everything. We recognize Sunday as the day of rest, but it is not a Biblical commandment. Perhaps one studying the Bible might realize the Church started in the New Testament era, but there are many different interpretations of the Bible. That is why there are so many different denominations, although most Protestant denominations still agree on some of the basic teachings. 18. I understand your concerns, however I think a degree of rationality would serve everyone well. Far be it from me to advise anyone on how they should respond to threats of overreaching government control, I honestly don't think our government would go to those extents...although from what I'm seeing out of places like Australia, it's possible I may be off on my judgement. It's hard for anyone to make sense out of anything when the government is moving the goalposts, changing narratives, and keeping people off balance and confused on an almost weekly basis. Gotta say, I also don't like the term "pro-vaxxer" any more than I do "anti-vaxxer", because I think it clouds the discussion and is intended to incite people. I simply want accurate, unsuppressed information to base good decisions on. I'm not anti-vax, I'm not pro-vax. When they can provide a vaccine that is proven safe and effective, I will be the first in line. I haven't seen any such thing yet. Until then, I guess I will have to keep paying $400 a month for covid testing out of my pocket for the "privilege" of earning a living and paying my bills, so much for freedom 55.

  19. No such thing as minimum wage by then. We'll all be "taken cared" of by the government. We'll just have to work our butt off. All happy together, working for the "common good."
