The chief threatened violence against the cop a couple of times, he went into a karate stance twice. He also forcibly grabbed the cop off his wife. The 1st cop didn't have much he could do until backup arrived. He seemed to have patience but he was actually just stalling for backup to arrive. Then the chief resisted arrest. The 2nd cop came in too aggressive, the force was a tad excessive but the chief needed to be subdued. If you resist arrest expect to get hit. If this were a white person nobody would bat and eyelash. Politicians have to say omg how terrible or wingnuts will call them racist.

The first cop did not have everything under control . . . . the chief was in and out of the vehicle multiple times, could have emerged with a weapon, took his coat off indicating a possible assault on the cop, and he invited and resisted arrest. The chief is a dickhead.

You are not. Police are not taught to stand by passively while a civilian initiates a move to invade another police officer's safety zone and then resist arrest. They err on the side of caution. In a situation like that a gun or weapon can be grabbed off the police officer to kill him or once close attack is initiated it may be too late to prevent harm. In this case the police officers acted as per their training. The only infraction was the intervenor using the term phacking . The Chief actually should be charged we with disorderly conduct, assault uttering a threat. This was a routine stop forcing expired plate. Chief Adam over-reacted. Had he stayed in the car, they might have only given a warning on the expired plate. All the people filming I guarantee you won't have the full episode. One of the reasons the police car is parked as it was is to enable the car camera to record the stop. The only reason this is in the news is because of Floyd. Now in every incident of any will have everyone comparing 8t and claiming 8tsxanother Floyd if the person detained is non white. This trivializes what happened to Floyd and other issues of abuse. Most people have no clue shat a safety zone is or whatbhappenxcshdn you penetrate it.

Lately, I'm hearing the 2 sides described as those who believe in equality of opportunity versus those who believe in equality of outcome. The opportunity guys are about the rights of the individual and the belief they can decide what's best for them and theirs better than the government. That's not to say there shouldn't be any government but ideally no more than you need to keep a society functioning and anything more grudgingly. You can find what likes to be called classic liberals and what I'll call call classic conservatives on this side. And these two groups might not agree on everything but they can talk to each other. The equality of outcome guys believe in order to keep things fair equality has to be managed. More government is how you do it. And there doesn't seem to be a limit. This is where you find the "Progressives." The thing about 'Progressives' is they aren't actually progressive. Some classic liberals call them the 'regressive left'. I'm not sure that's accurate because you'll see them infiltrating and attempting to hijack both classic sides. Self identifying progressives don't actually fit the definition of politically "progressive" as commonly defined. If you'd like to see what I mean use the definition of progressive Wikipedia uses and find me a progressive. They don't exist. What you will find in the reality of the progressive movement, is identity politics. The balkanizing of society into perverted groups moving with twisted attempts at imagined equity, tribalistically chanting beliefs in their superior virtue, calling for a unified government management they believe must recognize their scattered priorities. They are prepared to dismantle what is out of some vague internalized belief in some vague external promise of Utopia on the other end with a benign all powerful government watching over them. I sometimes think of those calling themselves progressives as progressive socialists - even if they don't know it themselves. Other times I think of them as a virus currently infecting western society.

Did you catch Michaelle Jean's contribution to race relations in the Globe the other day? "Of all the scourges afflicting humanity, the most devastating and recurrent is racism. This despite the fact any reasonable assessment would show that white countries are the least racist in the world. And not a word about the racism in Africa, Asia, India or the Middle East from her. Then she goes on to mention slavery, but only the slavery which involved white people. No mention of the far larger slavery which brought black Africans up the east coast of Africa and into the middle east centuries before Columbus found America, much less the million or more white Europeans captured and enslaved by Barbary warlords and pirates. And of course, nothing about the slavery in China and India and other countries. It's all the fault of those horrible white people.

Already this tiny Socialist utopia is asking for goods from the "outside world" because as history has taught us,Socialism has to leech off of the capitalist system in one way or another to meet it's needs. They have that sense of entitlement common to that mindset. Brainwashing is alive and well.

How much more frigging cucoobird can these people become. Inhumane is a better word. They even seek to ridicule and laugh at real people's suffering, then take an absurd position like "oh look, conservative caring? Since when?" when all they are is totally radicalized, some don't even understand what being normal is anymore.

Free trade was a big one. Are you saying that Free Trade came from the political Left? Have you heard the name Brian Mulroney before? The other things you listed would fall into the category of the social safety net.We certainly need a social safety net of course but not the parts that almost encourage people not to contribute to society. I'm not saying that there have never been big,beneficial initiatives from the Left either. I'll even give you one, from the Chretien/Martin government. They aggressively balanced the budget and were able to do it mainly through deep cuts in spending. Because they were Liberals they had a certain degree of immunity from criticism from the media,but that's another topic. What has Trudeau done that has been as big and beneficial to our economy that compares to Free Trade? Energy? Nope. Debt reduction? Nope.

CNN web page does not even mention Seattle exclusion zone now, let alone discuss the defund police movement, or that cops are quitting. Absolute propaganda outlet - for somebody.

The authorities are being very patient; instead of cutting off water and electricity to CHAZ they wait that the citizens of the New country get bored. Or hungry.

I think a lot of police officers will stop caring and the crime rate will go up. These police officers have families too, their job is stressful enough, do you think the average cop will risk enforcing the law to the full extent knowing that some member of the stasi might be around the corner with a camera ? This is what happens when unions are allowed to run things, like the police union, that rotten cop in the States should have been fired a long time ago if it wasn't for incompetence and stupidity. Because of that now society is affected with stupidity from the other side, low intellect anarchists.

I don't think the second cop should've thrown that punch. however, the Chief was aggressive, he took his coat off ready to fight. All he had to do was stay inthe car, but he chose the aggressive, confrontational route. T cops could not allow him to drive the truck with expired plates but he thought the law didn't apply to him.

When the protests calm down, in my estimation some raids and arrests will happen based on that information, the system is well designed, the USA won't go down because of some communist agitators.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Both sides think they are right in what they believe, before it was: I am right you are wrong, now is I am good you are evil. You have families not talking to each other over politics, I am dealing with something similar right now. Different sides are using the agitation that is happening in the world to push their political point and combine that with the COVID lock down it is a perfect recipe for chaos. We will all be okay as long as we don't choose a side, history is full of fanatics fighting each other. Sometimes is better to grab the popcorn and watch the show.
