  1. Actually, almost none. Certainly not in Canada. More than 68.8% of Canadian visible minority population are foreign-born, 27.7% are children of immigrants. Less than 4% are third-generation or beyond. Less than 3,000 Canadians are third-generation and visible minority and over 75 years old, they are mainly Black Nova Scotians. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visible_minority Why would you even need to ask such an inane question? Who is we as a people? Canadians. You people on the far left express absolute adoration, reverence and respect for the cultures of every foreign group you can find, not to mention natives. But when it comes to Canada you do nothing but mock and deride the very idea we even have one. Your idiot leader even denies Canada is a nation at all, or that it has any 'core identity'. Needless to say he'd never say that about Quebec! Quebec's culture and values must be protected at all costs! But the rest of Canada? Screw it! Nothing there to see! Nothing there worth protecting! Their traditions, institutions, values and culture are nothing but that of the OPPRESSORS!

  2. Well, that's fair, but don't put all the blame on yourself. Donald Trump has purposely and effectively trolled his ideological and globalist enemies, domestically and abroad. It is amazing how Trump has been able work other nationals into a foaming lather with his policies and antics. In many ways he drives them nuts because they allow him to. As others here have noted, it is Trump's ability to invoke such reactions from friends or foes that remains remarkable, even though he has been doing it for years now. I guess it just never gets old. President Trump would very much like to command the microphone over the C-19 crisis, but handlers have warned him to let go and have VP Pence + agencies take the lead. It is very difficult for Trump to accept less Trump driving media, but he still has Twitter, his favourite weapon.

  3. Your comments have zero credibility as you made it clear on this forum in past posts you are a racist, i.e., you believe only a specific designated narrow circle of what you call Caucasians with characteristics you assign them should be allowed in Canada. Your version of what a Canadian is, simpy reflects your own racist views. Damn is spelled with an n. Thanks for your valuable contribution. It was dam pointless.

  4. Its hard to know who is responsible in government for positive or negative effects on world markets. I mean we speculate certain comments can cause stock market panic, and certain policies we speculate stimulate and discourage economic growth but do we really know? We speculate that tax cuts and tax increases both stimulate and discourage economic growth. The same economists say both depending on their mood. I quite frankly do not think any economist can truly say a policy or law helps or does not help. They guess right? I am willing to guess the stock markets and business in general prefers Trump to Obama based on stock prices and what businesses say but I am like you-I read this. Do any of us really know? I am convinced certain Trudeau policies hinder the economy but I am conceding its based on probably my bias that too much regulation of markets and too little regulation of markets are equally as negative in impact on markets. I personally believe though Trudeau has zero on his economic policies and is a mouthpiece. I speculate Harper had more control simply because he had a Master's in Economics so would have had a personal interest in it unlike Trudeau who seems to be as deep in thought as a dim light bulb.

  6. Arising from Section 35 of the Constitution Act (1982) but not clarified until Supreme Court rulings after 2000, governments were forced to consult with Indigenous communities about developments on their traditional/treaty territories ... only in the last 20 years. For 130+ years before that, Indigenous territories were a free-for-all for corporations that mined, logged, built/operated railways, hydro lines, roads and pipelines etc with no consultation, no consent, and no revenues to Indigenous communities. Land and water were contaminated and made unfit to sustain their lives through traditional hunting, fishing, trapping, with no compensation paid, no remedial efforts (eg, clean water systems, industrial cleanup of mercury and other contaminants, etc). And still governments dilly-dally, paper shuffle, pass the buck, encourage corporate bribery to buy support and divide Indigenous communities, doing everything they can to avoid doing their jobs, avoid sharing revenues avoid settling land, treaty and title claims requiring compensation for 130+ years of rights violations ... violations of Canadian law ... that still continue.

  8. No, we can’t hold the present hostage to injustices of the distant past, especially when it isn’t clear whether or to what extent injustices occurred. Does England owe France for the transfer to British rule of Quebec? Does the US owe the descendants of the United Empire Loyalists for land stolen during the Revolution? The courts aren’t even denying that title may exist, but it isn’t automatically assumed. There has to be examination of evidence. Where have these dissenting hereditary chiefs been? Interesting that there is such immediate demand for the Government of Canada to build water purification systems for Indigenous who don’t have to pay for any of it through taxes, and the government is building them, yet it’s okay for companies, investors, governments, and indigenous communities to wait until this minority of chiefs are ready to present their evidence before proceeding with work approved by the majority of chiefs after much consultation and regulatory approvals. Why would resource developers go near such a volatile business climate, where the opinions of a few dissenters are allowed to set the agenda? Well the public, government, and businesses are consumed by their own problems. Hope that funding doesn’t get slashed due to economic hardship and shrinking tax revenues. What jobs and royalties will bring self-sustainability to communities that are so dependent on government funding? What contributions do these communities make to Canada or even to themselves? Certainly not taxes. It’s a lot of drama and expense. Yet, on top of free land, health, education, and infrastructure, more is asked. More is always asked and it will never be enough. The colonialism card can only be played for so long. At some point it will be about what people are doing with what they have rather than the reasons they can’t do things because they don’t get enough. You can’t blame other people for the opportunities you turn away.

  9. Ontario minimum wage only recent went up. Back in those dates the full-time min wage salary would have been around 20k a year. But anyways, of all immigrant groups of working age refugees make the least. I wouldn't allow any immigrant to stay in Canada permanently if after 5 or so years they aren't making close to the provincial avg wage. The idea of importing en masse people who will live in poverty is insane, since poverty is the leading indicator of crime, poor education, addiction, child-bearing outside committed relationships, and most every other undesirable social indicator. I have no problem paying to resettle them to find them safety elsewhere.

  10. But whether or not title is established and over which precise lands doesn’t change the problem of a minority of chiefs, an unelected minority no less, attempting to override the majority consensus of the Wetsueten. Incredibly, it’s these very hereditary chiefs who didn’t seek a resolution of title through the courts, which raises questions both about their legitimacy as leaders within their own communities AND the legitimacy of title. Quite simply, they have held up the processes for whatever reasons, and when we listen to the arguments between the various leaders of those communities, however well they try to keep the discussions internal, it becomes clear that the leadership is not at all harmonious and may be quite dysfunctional. How long should governments, businesses, and impacted communities wait for these issues to be resolved? It begins to look like a purposeful delay tactic by the dissenting minority who didn’t get what they want. It undermines public perception of indigenous leadership and makes it harder for these communities to attract investment.

  13. During the black plague, European villagers blamed the plague on the Jews. Rumours were spread that sinister long-nosed Jews were seen poisoning village wells, late at night. This fear and suspicion probably arose from the fact that the plague did not seem to affect the Jews as much as it did everyone else. This in turn was likely due to their culture, which advocated a higher level of cleanliness and hygiene compared to Europeans. See how that logic works?

  14. Refugees coming to Canada aren't just fleeing war and famine. Canada is literally one of the furthest away countries from most of the major refugee-source countries. They're fleeing war and famine and wanting to financially ca$h in at the same time. People aren't stupid, I don't blame them. Refugees want to come to Canada, they don't want to go to Portugal. They want their free services and their own ethnic communities. If you're fleeing for your life you should be content to simply be alive and in a country as good economically as your home country.

  15. Let common sense rule. Some ideas, beliefs and behaviours should be refused. For example: Serial killers and pedophiles have very different ideas, beliefs and behaviours than I do. It's okay to be intolerant of some ideas, beliefs and behaviours. In some cases, it's necessary.

  16. Then that also means that everything you say about anyone who doessupport Trump is full of hatred. You really need sometimes to think about your generalizations.

  17. I'm not in your way, just pointing out how hypocritical you and your gangs really is... Ya, they are, Canadians won't do a thing until it is to late, point out a major climate change intuitive this government has taken that WILL put this country on track , instead I see a lot of changing the goal posts to what is it now 2050, next government it will be what 2070....point to where a climate change protest has reached well over 100,000 people in one location in Canada. point to a climate change protest that has forced people to take action...you 've put your faith on a losing team....IN your face eyeballs

  18. That by no means they have the support of the people, Canadians have a bad habit of saying on thing but when it is time to stand up and take action, they all quietly sit back down again.... I seen the support the blockaders had when the news showed drivers shouting at them to get the F*** of the road, and go home...or some people dismantling blockades, then getting arrested by RCMP, ya that happened. Canadians only feel for a few things poggy checks, welfare checks, hockey night in Canada, and is the beer store opened....everything else is secondary and can wait until tommorrow...

  19. Why? You sure don't mind prescribing how everyone else should. Why? They lost. And they're a tiny minority. We get to make those decisions, not them.

  20. We the people also have way too many chiefs(politicians)who are holding us all hostages and who appear to be nothing more than a bunch of inept, and totally corrupt and contemptible clueless bunch of Indian political chiefs who are ruining Canada and it's citizen's of it's potential to become a great wealthy country for all. A radical bunch of activist commie terrorists are ruining it for we the people of Canada and Canada itself. The sad part about all of this is that we the majority of people are letting them get away with it. But for the few who do get out there and fight back, they are the ones that get mostly arrested by the politically correct police. Canada is starting to appear to become a police state. Don't laugh like you always like to do.

  21. Indeed. Trudeau is just pointing out the fact as to how most Canadians have become stupid and silly. Too many people will believe their politicians and the media and what they say without question. I am pretty sure that there are some silly and stupid people out there who would believe the media if the media told them that the sky was about to fall down on top of them any day now. Many would believe it and run for the nearest cave. Sadly, there are just too many stupid and silly people out there in Canada land. The only reason for globalist Trudeau to be once again the emperor of Canada today is because of those stupid and silly people who voted for that fool, and more of those fools are immigrating to Canada every year. Trudeau could be the emperor of Canada forever. Don't laugh, it could just happen. Only stupidity, silly nonsense, and emotionalism now rules over this liberal and socialist country called Canada. Pipelines and other big major projects are being cancelled because of Emperor Trudeau and those stupid and silly ass commie terrorists who could careless about Canada. They appear to be out to deindustrialize and bankrupt Canada, and sadly, it is working well for those commie terrorists. Aw well, what more can be said about this stupid and silly country.

  24. Five old men condemning the up-coming generations to all the wonderful benefits of living on an isolated reserve. The fulfillment of chronic unemployment, poor water and waste systems, the superb freedom from never knowing the meaning of 'work ethic', the exhilaration of dependence on money hand-outs, etc. . . . . . the list is long. Hereditary 'Chiefs' = selfish and stupid. Elected Chiefs = know what and how to truly help their folks to better themselves . . . Times have changed: The buffalo are gone, they're not coming back - - - get over it. Shady's post above nailed it.

  25. My favourite thing about you people is your constant proclaiming of climate change as an urgent issue, but continue to give the biggest emitter in the world a pass on reducing emissions for another 10 years. You'd rather deny First Nations people the dignity of a good paying job, all for symbolism over substance. Ruin the lives of Canadians so that China can increase emissions for the next decade. Sound logic there.
    1 point
  26. You'd rather have First Nations people on welfare than have them have the dignity of a good paying job. As you people continue to ignore the biggest CO2 emitter in the world, and give them a pass to pollute for another 10 years. But with the other sides of your mouth, proclaim climate change an urgent issue.

  27. Mean while china is pumping away. They produce 26.4% of the co2, and our NG would fix that. But for some reason the radical enviros don't want to help the earth, just keep the natives poor.

  28. And if most other countries don't do the same, Canada's just shooting itself in the foot and climate change will continue unabated. Climate change isn't significantly influenced by Canada's emissions from new oil sands development. It's a blip in the machine. Canada in total produces 1.6% of global GHG emissions. The USA is 15%. Canada shouldn't lead the way on emissions reductions, it should follow. There's no benefit to the world or to Canada in being a leader, only economic stagnation. The US, China, EU, India, Russia etc need to be leaders because they produce the most emissions.

  29. The attack on resource development in Canada is an attack on the viability of our most vulnerable Indigenous communities. From the Financial Post: “In the meantime, he said it’s disappointing that 14 Indigenous communities lost out on potential jobs and benefits agreements with Teck for the project. ‘These opportunities don’t come around very often in the remote areas of our country,’ Legge said.” Full article: “Indigenous Communities Blindsided by Teck’s Decision to Pull Frontier Project” https://business.financialpost.com/commodities/energy/disappointment-fear-and-anger-indigenous-communities-blindsided-by-tecks-decision-to-pull-frontier-project

  30. Into the toilet? .For a lot of natives. It would have provided 2500 long term, well paid jobs. But yes, it would have emitted CO2 - 25% more CO2 than a pair of cement factories which were recently built in Ontario and Quebec, which faced no environmental hearings, which the Quebec government exempted from environmental regulations, and which will produce perhaps 250 jobs. But... they were jobs in Quebec and Ontario. So everyone rushed them through without questioning anything. But only in Canada. Nowhere else. Hundreds of coal fired power plants going up, new coal fields opening up, places around the world spewing away happily and making money out of it. But no, only Canada must do this, beggar ourselves, while others play. Because... well, we're so gosh darn noble! Or perhaps build rocket ships, or make office chairs or something? It doesn't work that way. They're a resource company, and they said that Canada is too politically unstable for resource development at this time. That's the sort of language they usually use for third world companies who have guerrila war problems. No, they'll find a third world country with more stability and invest money and create jobs there.

  31. Can you imagine, on top of having to get through life, you had the burden of continuing a culture and ensuring it didn't go 'extinct' ? Although I don't know what that means, exactly, since the fur trapping, farming, and voyageur traditions amongst others are gone, it still sounds burdensome. We only should be concerned about maintaining freedom, and speaking up about those who succumb to limiting the freedom of others. Next generation's "Muslim arabs" will be like this generation's Canadian born Chinese kids. They'll listen to Canadian pop music, and they will live in a true Multicultural society, which is to say a Melting Pot without pressure to conform. True freedom. Whatever society you are proposing, its preoccupation with maintaining bloodlines of the past will necessarily limit freedom and change. It will close off from the world and end up as death-prone itself.

  32. I think we'd ALL agree that blockades shouldn't be happening ... if governments are doing their job right. Canadians say ... "The economic impact ... 53% heightens the importance of reaching a resolution through meaningful dialogue and negotiation. 42% requires immediate forceful intervention by police at blockades. 5% Unsure They didn't ask whether governments should have prevented conflict by fulfilling the duty of the Crown to consult meaningfully with Indigenous rights holders, and adequately accommodate their rights and title, when the Crown contemplates actions that may infringe on Aboriginal rights. If they asked the right questions, I think we'd all agree on a lot of things.
