  1. 1 - no one said the police needed to beat people, that's just you playing the fool again. 2 - more eyeball idiocy, shocker 3- not an opinion lol. 4- your informed sense is that unanimous support of elected chiefs and the vast majority of hereditary chiefs is what needs to be followed. 5- no, not at all. That's just stupid. 6- It's not dreaming of the past, it's also what happens when democracy breaks down. Millions of Canadians don't support it, and even more will be against it once they find out how much this all affects them. A couple hundred idiots support it. The dumbest of the dumb. The cream of the crap.

  2. The NYSE, NASDAQ & TSX are all propped up by the same global leverage bubble, if it massively corrects, it will all go together The idea that the TSX is some sort of safe haven is delusional And besides, corrections are a good thing, buy low, sell high

  3. The story about the Noah's Ark really makes me laugh. How can anyone believe such a story as Noah's Ark? If one give some good thought, there can be no way that anyone can do what he was supposed to have done. The massive job of going out and collecting two of every kinds of animals, birds, and insects would be a massive undertaking and would take years to be able to finish unless you get divine help. Just how big was the boat anyway? Big as a super oil tanker or commercial tankers? Was Noah given a list of all the animals and birds and insects that he was supposed to collect and where to go get them? He would have to go to the Arctic to get the animals living there and transport them to the boat. Then he would have to go to the other four continents and get two of each animal on those continents. Then he would have to have enough food to feed all those animals on that boat. He would probably have to gather more than two because some of those animals were carnivores who prefer to eat meat. I could go on and on but I think you get my picture here. The whole bloody bible makes no sense at all. It's all to confusing to try and read and to try and make heads or tails out of it. I gave up on reading the bible a very very long time ago. The only thing good about the bible is the ten commandments. If we all practiced those ten commandments the world would probably be a lot better place to live in today. But when we get so many religions who are trying to tell us that their religion is better than another religion, and they even fight over it, like they did during the Crusades, tells me that this whole religion thing is nothing more than a big farce where the people at the top of these religions make lots of money and get to live the champagne life while the stupid fools who support them get to live the beer life. I would say that religion has probably created about half of the worlds problems since time began by some people who decided to try and start a religion to see how far they could get with it. So far it has worked quite well for many religions now. The Catholic church alone is worth trillions, while some people who support that church are poor as hell. There truly is something wrong with this religious picture.

  4. Yours is a false argument, because even if we agreed not to sell China any oil, you still wouldn't be in favour of the pipeline or it's oil production. So stop pretending otherwise. It's laughable.

  6. Sorry but if we keep going in this direction, we will no longer be the best place to live. We need the conservatives to save the country, because the liberals have lost control.

  7. Exactly. And Trudeau was handed a budget that was almost in balance when he took office. But he quickly blew that up.

  8. Actually, you responded directly to " Propped up? Please explain" Propped up is defined as to stop somthing from falling by placing something under it. Interdependent is defined as two or more things dependant on each other, a clear difference. Of course we're a little more dependent on the US they're the biggest consumers on the planet with a population and economy 10x our size, and yes it is a potential problem that we are so reliant on the strength of a foreign states economy, but that is a far cry from being "propped up" Never did I "hold Canada up as the best for anything" our banks are given a better credit rating than the states that's just a fact, and i use it as an example because the strength of a nations banking system is a pretty good indicator of their financial independence and sovereignty, and that we made it through a crisis caused by the US that did very little damage to our economy (in fact it allowed many snow birds to acquire real estate at rock bottom prices) shows we can and do thrive independent of what the US does

  9. I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said, i would add some nuance though. I feel you're diverting from my original objection to the statement that "Canada is propped up by the US" Of course we are interdependent with the US, and Canada is undoubtedly more dependent on the US for our economic strength, there are other factors that contribute to this also, including the fact that we sell raw materials to then rebuy those same materials but processed when we should invest in processing those things here, the bce(mad cow) issue we had a while ago prove that when forced we can process raw materials and when we do so it's better for our economy. Again the issue I had objection to was we are "propped up" by the states and you have yet to provide a justification for that statement. I will return to the same example as i feel it accurately represents my view, not only did our banks make it through the US caused 2008 financial crisis, we were lauded internationally for the strength of our banks, and we continue to be higher rated than our US contemporaries. If Canada was propped up by the US it would stand to reason that if the states were in a major financial crisis we would not make it through unscathed. Though you're obviously not obliged to focus on the banking issue(i do feel not addressing it specifically, as it is a totally relevant and possibly the best matrix to the topic at hand, should be seen as a cop out) Please stick to the issue at hand

  10. I think I may have missed the mark with my original post, based on the responses. Let me try again, I in no way blame America, in fact appreciate many of the aspects of American culture. My point was(and is) that political differences in Canada are based on regional disputes mostly due to a centralized gov't(unlike the US where each state has a much broader autonomy) and not on a right /left dichotomy that is omnipresent south of the border. Again as an example of this the right/left axis in northern Alberta is much different then that in Montreal on the plateau and regardless where you fit on that spectrum in either place your problems are much more often than not due the decisions taken by that same centralized gov't On the idea we don't have a defined Canadian identity, allow me to respectfully disagree, i will grant you we lack the patriotic fervour displayed by our neighbors , and that when it comes to many cultural things(music, art, etc..) In can be hard to draw a definitive line between us, though sometimes its us that influences them. There are also many fundamental major differences when it comes to politics. One example for the purpose of this conversation is campaign financing laws. The difference between the two countries on this point alone illustrates a clear distinction on how politics are done In conclusion when i say American style politics, im speaking solely on the extreme polarization that is built in their system, that has never been part of ours and does nothing but cloud our abilities to solve real problems. Politicians in the states only care about reelection and not dealing with issues, and because we don't do it that way, today we have a higher standard of living and i want to keep it that way

  12. It’s pure racist apartheid garbage, having reserves for certain races and giving them money because the public thinks they’re incapable of taking care of themselves. It’s pitiful. Scrap it all lock stock and barrel. Get off the reserve and the tax breaks. Join the real world of personal responsibility like many other successful Indigenous have. Drop the stereotypes.

  13. Nonsense, it’s about segregation pure and simple, separation by race. It’s primitive and holding people back from their potential. You’ve been brainwashed. Put away the Kool-Aid. Are Indigenous to be patronized and placated, kept like endangered species on a “reserve”? It’s so backwards and stupid.

  14. The seeds of this mess were sown by an overblown and ridiculous notion that somehow all injustices of the past, especially the distant past, can be laid at the feet of present-day Canadians, half of whom came to this country within the past 50 years, or their parents/grandparents did. It’s all centred around this dysfunctional idea that certain people (Indigenous) are owed something for nothing. What a farce. Marry this ethnocentric idea of racially pure original peoples (Aboriginal) with environmental extremism, to purify free land for select races. Taxpaying workers have to pay for this scheme, especially if the Green fascists pile on additional Green taxes. The immediate crisis of course is that workers and the products and energy they provide can’t get to their destination because the Green fascists are blocking the railway tracks. It doesn’t matter much to the protesters who clearly don’t have to be anywhere else, like a workplace or home to take care of children and elderly. These protesters are breaking the law and must be removed immediately. Failure to do so is downright police and government incompetence.

  15. Trudeau and the premiers let natives hijack vital transportation infrastructure and let migrants from the US stream over the border and the Chinese take free birth tours. Stop letting people push us around and defend the damn country you bunch of wusses.

  16. How the federal and provincial governments can allow a bunch of protestors to shut down vital transportation infrastructure across the country is beyond me. This is one reason why Canada needs a mightier military. I support protest and all speech but I don't support coercion.

  17. Is Ralph at fault for suggesting they light the signal fire to alert passing ships that ultimately killed the boy. Maybe it was Piggy for lending his specs to ignite it. Possibly it was the fault of boys for being boys and playing instead of monitoring the fire. In my opinion, assigning any sort of power, meaning or importance to ancient works of fiction like the bible is asinine. Railing against adults that cling to fairy tales may feel good but it is ultimately a waste of time. Besides the act is kind of like taking a stand against DVDs, fax machines, physical retail outlets, or cable TV. They are all dead or dying anyway. Sure it may feel productive to hurl logical arguments at those who believe in magic; but, they aren't impressed or moved by reason or reality. Take pride in your superior respect for evidence and "sucks to your ass-mar"!

  19. That's a superficial statement that ignores the historical facts. Do you think Chretien would have had a surplus through the recession? I remind you, if you aren't aware, that he ran large deficits the first four years he was in power. The surpluses didn't come until the US economy started booming and dragged ours along with it. After then he ran surpluses largely because he had no ambition to do anything with the money, and wanted it kept ready at hand should the divided conservatives join up and challenge him The instant they did, the surplus was largely eliminated as Paul Martin splurged ahead of an election. He also made so many electoral promises we'd have been back in deficit even without a new recession.

  20. Yer such a happy guy when it comes to Canada. Geez man.... my friggin not so kosher butt is damn happy its in Canada and not in Israel or another country with perpetual conflicts that make ours look tiny in comparison. The warts this country has are nothing compared to most places in the world. You spend far too much time spitting down on the nation. Once I am at it, I respect our country tries to be civil with conflicts. Its time consuming but its far better than blood spilling. I just argue our politicians need to get off their asses and settle the issues they avoid and stop dumping it on police or our soldiers. The civility is not the problem, its the lack of sincere dialogue to resolve the conflicts.

  22. It's definitely strained to record levels at this point in time. At the end of Harper's last two terms the BQ got a total of 14 seats. After 1 term of Trudeau the Bloc got 32 seats. Western separation wasn't even a consideration while Harper was PM, now it is widely favoured. As bad as it was a couple weeks ago, things are getting worse by the day now because of the idiotic rail blockades. If the Bloc gets their way and puts an end to Teck it will get immeasurably worse. I've always considered myself a patriotic Canadian but I'm far from it now. I couldn't care less if the country breaks into 3 or more parts. I don't even like the maritimes anymore and I lived there, I still have friends there. I can still visit if it's a different country. To hell with it. Stick a fork in this pig.

  23. Oh, too bad . Guess I'll go hang myself in the barn. Canada, by any standards, is one of the best places in the world to live. So much so that a case could be made that anyone who doesn't like living here probably wouldn't like living anywhere. That said, better a sister in a whore-house than a brother in the Conservative Party.

  25. Well the end of Confederation and the Crown would mean the end of treaty obligations. The Quebec sovereigntists have always liked this idea. It would get even more individualistic than that without the provinces. Toronto councillors have often mused about ceceding from the province. Imagine how rich the city would be, keeping its provincial and federal taxes or scrapping them. Subways everywhere. The Toronto Charter.

  26. I recognize that there may be some benefits, socially, at local churches. Many do not have social support systems or friends to get their fellowship needs satisfied. I do not recognize a need for the organized religions. All they are, are lying machines. Your last, I have experienced when debating religion with lying preachers. They end at the same brain dead location as that woman of yours. Regards DL

  28. Then why are we not seeing police move in with batons swinging? Well, when the Conservatives are in power again maybe you can remodel our education system to better resemble a Klingon military prep school where snowflakery can be beaten out of kids. That's simply an opinion and a wrong one that Ottawa and Victoria tried to follow. Informed sense is that elected chiefs are at a level below that of hereditary chiefs, this is the law that needs to be followed. The same is just as true when a majority dictates to a minority. Quit dreaming about living in the past and get with the times. Today that small group has the support of millions of Canadians. How many heads were you figuring on splitting anyway?
