  1. No, I rarely defend their actions. I simply point out how outrageous the claims from others are.

  2. And yet you are by far and away the most fanatic, zealous defender of each and every single Liberal policy and action on this web site.

  3. Anyone who thought South Africa was headed in the right direction had best think again. Apparently the raging success of neighbouring Zimbabwe, whose agricultural sector and economy collapsed after it seized white owned farms, has inspired South Africa to go the same route. Farms owned by white people will be 'expropriated' without compensation. In other words, simply stolen and then given to party loyalists. No doubt white companies and properties will come next. White South African farmers will be removed from their land after a landslide vote in parliament. The country's constitution is now likely to be amended to allow for the confiscation of white-owned land without compensation, following a motion brought by radical Marxist opposition leader Julius Malema. It passed by 241 votes for to 83 against after a vote on Tuesday, and the policy was a key factor in new president Cyril Ramaphosa's platform after he took over from Jacob Zuma in February. Mr Malema said the time for 'reconciliation is over'. 'Now is the time for justice,' News24 reported. 'We must ensure that we restore the dignity of our people without compensating the criminals who stole our land.' He's talking about the 17th century, btw. None of the people alive today had anything to do with it, but he's referring to them as 'criminals' regardless. Mr Malema has a long-standing commitment to land confiscation without compensation. In 2016 he told his supporters he was 'not calling for the slaughter of white people - at least for now'. Guess we'll be hearing howls of protest from all the liberal western governments who denounced Apartheid, right? I mean, Trudeau will be in a rage over this! LOL. There won't be a peep of protest. And I bet most of the Western media ignores it completely. It doesn't fit in with the narrative of "whites evil - blacks helpless, innocent victims". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5443599/White-South-African-farmers-removed-land.html

  4. Well, we may need to look at the late Rob Ford's actions as Mayor that can help to explain TOs debt problem. Wynne has her role in it for sure, but she was never mayor of Toronto ( I could be wrong).

  6. Russians and Persians have a history of wars like any neighbouring countries. The Russians as explained to you already always wanted to annex parts of Iran....This is summed up in a series of treaties between the two countries as documented below. After the fall of the USSR, the Russians had no stomach to care about the former soviet states.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Persian_Wars FYI, the invasion of Russia and the British was to create a corridor and cut off the supplies of the Germans during world war II. Your making up stories that Shah was a by product of Stalin is ridiculous to say the least!

  7. You are making a fool out of yourself in public. First you claimed that Stalin installed Mahamad Reza Shah on the crown and your very false gross claim was rebuffed with evidence and then you changed your story completely and claimed again very falsely that I have said that Stalin didn't invade Iran and didn't force Reza Shah to leave!!!!!!!!. Seriously you discredited yourself real bad.

  8. Didn't I? Just did, I thought. Don't blame me that you weren't witness to this event from afar in 1979. Failing to mention one of WW2's conferences is hardly vindication of your wild version of history. The Russians would have invaded in 1941 with or without British assistance. He was very much pro-Nazi. Your invented history where Stalin didn't invade Iran and turf Reza isn't worth commenting on further.

  9. Exactly right! DOP fails to mention the Tehran conference 1943 that involved Roosevelt and Churchill too... https://history.state.gov/milestones/1937-1945/tehran-conf In the same article he shared we us there are also dozens of photos of Shah meeting virtually the entire US presidents till 1979 namely Truman, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Carter, Nixon and Ford. But no, all those are brushed aside only his selective attention span on the history of Iran focuses on Russians.... https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Shah_with_FDR.jpeg#/media/File:Shah_with_FDR.jpeg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Photograph_of_the_President_and_Mrs._Truman_with_the_Shah_of_Iran,_in_formal_attire,_during_the_Shah's_visit_to_the..._-_NARA_-_200150.jpg#/media/File:Photograph_of_the_President_and_Mrs._Truman_with_the_Shah_of_Iran,_in_formal_attire,_during_the_Shah's_visit_to_the..._-_NARA_-_200150.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kennedy_with_Shah_of_Iran,_1961.jpg#/media/File:Kennedy_with_Shah_of_Iran,_1961.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kennedy's_welcome_Shah_of_Iran_to_W._House_digital_file_from_original_item.tif#/media/File:Kennedy's_welcome_Shah_of_Iran_to_W._House_digital_file_from_original_item.tif https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mohammad_Reza_Shah_Pahlavi_and_Richard_Nixon_Oval_Office.gif#/media/File:Mohammad_Reza_Shah_Pahlavi_and_Richard_Nixon_Oval_Office.gif https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Gerald_Ford_and_Mohammad_Reza_Shah_Pahlavi_Whitehouse_South_Lawn.jpg#/media/File:Gerald_Ford_and_Mohammad_Reza_Shah_Pahlavi_Whitehouse_South_Lawn.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:TheShahNeilArmstrong.png#/media/File:TheShahNeilArmstrong.png https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Shah_with_Atherton,_Sullivan,_Vance,_Carter_and_Brzezinski,_1977.jpg#/media/File:The_Shah_with_Atherton,_Sullivan,_Vance,_Carter_and_Brzezinski,_1977.jpg

  10. What am I lying about? I would not vote PC anyways, nor would I vote Liberal, nor will I vote for the NDP. But when you put someone like Ford to go against Wynne, we are in a real state of trouble. This is part of the problem. We don't get to choose the leader of the party, we elect the party, they select the leader.

  11. Things were great until 1979. Then the Frenchies allowed the Ayatollah who had been their guest to go back to Iran to steal the Revolution away from the people and into the hands of a theocratic dictatorship where they stone women and hang homosexuals. You know...Islam in charge.

  12. It has been mentioned many times that it is kind of ironic that Great Britain (or United Kingdom, I really couldn't give a fuck which name is correct) which itself is an artificial union wants to break out of a federation which seeks to become a similar concoction but on a larger scale.

  13. For the history challenged: The Soviet Union invaded Iran in 1941 while Germany was conducting Operation Barbarossa. Not wanting Iran to be annexed by the Soviets, the British quickly invaded from the south. The old Shah (pro-Nazi) was deposed and the young Shah we all know was "installed". Let's see that pic again....yup, that's Stalin and Molotov with the Shah.

  14. Yes, because the Ontario Liberals embody moral decency. It's all fine for you to turn your nose up at DoFo. But if Wynne plays the deplorables card, they will lose. If DoFo sticks to Patrick Brown's platform, they have an excellent shot at winning.

  15. Nowhere in the link it makes the gross claim even remotely that the Shah was installed by Stalin. As I said it was Prome Minister Forough who was an enemy of Reza Shah helped the Crown Prince to becme the next King.

  17. ....and while we're at it. Why the Coup? Oil? Sure...as far as the British were concerned. But for the Iranian Army it had more to do with the VERY poor experience they had at the hands of their Soviet captors during WW2. Mossadeq was in bed with the Communist Tudeh Party. The Tudehs tried to get parts of Iran annexed by the Soviet Union. The UN's first crisis... This equaled trouble even without Kermit Roosevelt spreading CIA cash around like it was going out of style to the remaining Army officers not quite yet aboard with the Coup. Also: The USA had poured billions into the Persian Corridor...air ports...sea ports...highways...you name it. Handing Iran and all that infrastructure over to the USSR was not going to happen. And it didn't...

  18. It's easy if unfamiliar with Iranian history to confuse the two events. The Shah coming to the throne after his father was deposed was in 1941. the Iranian Army Coup with CIA assistance to remove the pro-Communist Mossadeq was in 1953.

  20. Says here she's conceded, if so she's done the right thing. I voted for Elliot so If the election were not this year I'd say go for it but Ontario can't afford another Wynne/Liberal gov't so it's imperative to move forward. Hartley Lefton's credibility and ethics are above reproach but he took on the worse no-win scenario doing the best he could for the membership; another guy Dave Forestell worked his butt off too. I'm sure there would have been fewer problems without the time constraints so I give them credit, and to Elliot for doing what's best for the Province (and the party) The business with the riding ballots was due to the fact that some ridings share the same postal code, a stupid error on someone's part but given the short period of time they had to get things done no surprise I guess. Maybe we should go back to the delegate process. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/doug-ford-christine-elliott-meeting-1.4571798

  21. How so? You go to the riding association meeting to nominate delegates. You can run to be a delegate. Even if you are unsuccessful, you can still go to the convention as an observer and work for your candidate. I worked for Joe Clark at the 1983 convention. I had a beer with George Hees, danced with Flora MacDonald, toured Ottawa with Allan McKinnon and got to hug Maureen McTeer. It is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game. Democracy depends on not taking politics too seriously. Politics is a participation sport. If you don't campaign, you can't complain.

  22. No more than Canada backing U.S. policies around the world. Most Canadians would not accept their role as such being "acts of war". Trump's cruise missile attack on Syria was an "act of war", but it did not start a war. The last U.S. president to engage in a new war was Barack Obama (Libya - 2011)...the same guy who said Trump would never be president.

  23. Actually, they should return to delegated conventions. They were a lot more fun and better for the parties. The conventions gave the parties more exposure. Elliott should have conceded immediately. Drawing it out, reflects on her character and costs her any influence she would have had in caucus. Nobody likes a sore loser.

  24. Again...not a war. Invasion of Panama in 1989 for Noriega was more so. President Trump has done none of these things...yet.

  25. You would have to define "war" first....the invasion of Grenada (Reagan) wasn't much of a war.

  26. He accused the Toronto Police and Toronto Star of colluding against his brother and inventing the crack cocaine story just so they could maintain power, despite his brother clearly needing help and not a lying enabler. Think about that. He accused the Police Department of manufacturing evidence with the Toronto Star when he knew his brother was a crackhead. That's like the worst sort of human you can possibly be. But I will concede that Trump-supporter types would certainly vote for him. It seems moral decency is irrelevant to them.

  27. Must be because President Trump has a much better "temperament".

  28. Despite claims to the contrary by the Trump haters, President Trump has not started a war yet, unlike Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. ...and Trump has plans to meet with the DPRK to try and fix the nuclear weapons mess that all those previous presidents left him to clean up. So much work to do by a "real estate con-man" from Queens, NY ...so little time.

  29. That's where the dependency continues...Canada gets the "value add" by exporting to the United States for sale to the world, while importing back into Canada. Also, there is no flag on my local golden arches restaurant, one of President Trump's favourites.
