Consensus is no part of the scientific process. At all. In fact it's the antithesis of science Science only moves forward because somebody comes along and says that the previously accepted science is wrong. If that wasn't true we would still be using Newtonian models for the movement of objects. And if there is such a huge body of science to suggest that climate change is a crisis then why have you never been able to produce any?

So Trump's EO is not valid. However, it is constitutional. That sounds like a contradiction. SCOTUS said that the EO violates a federal statute. So, now the Republicans can pass a law to stop anchor babies. It needs to be done now. https://www.scotusblog.com/ In other SCOTUS rulings, we now have unlimited campaign funding and trans in sports is a states' rights issue.
-
Consensus is also a fundamental part of political agendas, which is why we don't trust them. Stick to the science, or go over there and pound sand.
-
Consensus is not part of the scientific method. Science progresses through empirical testing, observation, and falsification, not by majority vote or political negotiation.

Why bullying Canada is justified
paxamericana replied to paxamericana's topic in Canada / United States Relations
For America, worked out great. They emerged as the undefeated world war champion twice and, let’s not forget, the victor of the Cold War. As I write these words America’s forces is engaging the remnants of the Axis of evil; Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran are facing assault from America on all fronts—economic, political and military. They realize they lack the strength to resist. America is destined to rule the planet. Triumph after triumph is what history will remember. -
Bern said that we had roughly a decade. What do you suppose that means? We have 6 years to go. What happens around 2032?

The Naturalization Act of 1790
Deluge replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
As the topic of immigration continues to heat up, I'm often reminded of how brilliant our founders were when they introduced the Naturalization Act of 1790. With each passing week, it feels more and more like revitalizing this act is necessary. Now, I'm not sure how realistic it would be to make America completely white again, but I'm sure we could start with something like identifying the truly patriotic and stripping the rest of citizenship. What do you think? -
Judged by genocide, is Yahweh good or evil?
French Patriot replied to French Patriot's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Do you not have a search engine, stupid? Yah·weh [ˈyäˌwā] a form of the Hebrew name of God used in the Bible. The name came to be regarded by Jewish people (c.300 BC) as too sacred to be spoken, and the vowel sounds are uncertain. An androgenous God. It makes a big difference, if you ask rib woman Eve. -
The main one would be recognizing the fact that the only Gods we have, we invented. We are realists who recognize that things cannot be better than they are, given our history. We can picture better but it can only happen if we do it. Let me speak to the misunderstanding of Gnostic Christians hating matter. I wrote this to refute the false notion that Gnostic Christians do not like matter and reality that the inquisitors propagated to justify their many murders of my religion’s originators. The Gnostic Christian reality. Gnostic Christian Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]" "If those who attract you say, 'See, the Kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is under the earth,' then the fish of the sea will precede you. Rather, the Kingdom of God is inside of you, and it is outside of you. [Those who] become acquainted with [themselves] will find it; [and when you] become acquainted with yourselves, [you will understand that] it is you who are the sons of the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty." As you can see from that quote, if we see God's kingdom all around us and inside of us, we cannot think that the world is anything but evolving perfection. Most just don't see it and live in poverty. Let me try to make you see the world the way I do. Here is a mind exercise. Tell me what you see when you look around. The best that can possibly be, given our past history, or an ugly and imperfect world? Candide."It is demonstrable that things cannot be otherwise than as they are; for as all things have been created for some end, they must necessarily be created for the best end.” That means that we live in the best of all possible worlds, because it is the only possible world, given all the conditions at hand and the history that got us here. That is an irrefutable statement given entropy and the anthropic principle.

1. Sure it is. Islam has been growing rapidly for the past 20 years - it's the 2nd largest religion in Canada, and you know that whoever is 1st isn't going to hold that position very long. Islam isn't even a religion, really, but you can bet it's at least the 2nd most powerful political force in Canada as well. 2. I don't know about any of that, but it looks like your task is clear: get rid of America and make room for Islam, or China, or whoever else is waiting in the shadows. 3. Well, as Islam takes over, I'm sure it will be a lot more clear as to how to adapt to their rulership.

It's a house purpose-built for a lumber baron. Yeah, it's old, but the cost isn't because it's old. The estimated costs of building a new one are almost as high. Which I again don't understand since they already own the land. Not the nicest house in Ottawa comes remotely close to these prices. No home in Ottawa has ever sold for much over $10 million, and half of that is the land.

What Is Climate Change?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Some real climate scientists went after alternatives to carbon caused global warming. This was decades ago, and part of their papers included Predictions that the temperature would start to fall again by now. They got grants too. What government would not want to find a proof that were coming out of this? But conspiracy theories can't be falsified. Conspiracy theorists can't be convinced that they are incorrect. Lack of evidence that they exist is itself evidence of a cover-up in their minds. -
