Who Should Lead A New Conservative Party

I voted for Stephen Harper, speaks fench, extremely intelligent, and I believe that he will run an impressive election campeign, after all he saved the Alliance from total destruction.

Ditto for me. I find also that Harper is very charismatic and an excellent public speaker, and I think that once he seriously hits the campaign trail in the East he'll get a lot more support there.

For "progressive", read "regressive", since "social progressives" stand for infanticide (abortion), institutionalised racism (affirmative action), disempowerment of women (more affirmative action), and the rescinding of freedom of speech (hate speech laws).

The red tories have to ask themselves whether they'd rather see a united Conservative government with Harper as PM, or another Liberal government with Martin as PM. That's what it boils down to. Not that Harper is necessarily going to be leader, or even that he necessarily should be leader, but we should pick the best man (which really means "most electable") for the job from whichever party, and then rally behind him, otherwise the Liberals are going to win again.

And nobody wants that. Those that think they do, don't know what they want.

first of all, your not alive untill you are born. you get a birth certificate, not a conception certificate.

secondly, affirmative action is counter to the imbed racism in the system.

here's a great example. if you have 5 buckets with water in them, and 5 people standing in front of you. If one of them is on fire, then I'd say its fair to throw all the water on him, even though it may not be very "equal"

as for hate speach, I dont even have to defend that, its so bluntly obvious that its wrong.

Pellaken most NDPers are already saying they will switch their vote to the Liberals to combat the blue horde if a merger happens, and the better the Conservatives are doing the more NDPers will switch their vote.

So the better the Conservatives do, the smaller the NDP will get....

I hate the NDP. They're a bunch of spineless, anti-american, anti-capitalist, anti-justice, and llets admit it: when it comes down to it: Anti-GDP peaceniks. I was sickened by Bill Blakie's response to the Block MP's (I'm not a Canadian but Canadian enough to collect salary and pension stance) which was that they should be able to call themselves what they want. What a shameful lack of pride in one's nation. That's the kind of philosopy that says: Abuse me. Infact, I almost hate them as much as the Liberals. Crackerjack probably won't even get his seat if he's going against the guy who brought the Stones and ACDC to Toronto.

I'm gonna have to join RT_1984 in the bashing of the NDP. Always disliked them, they are always thinking shot-term instead of long-term. Boy isn't that a great way to think. To put it on perspective: The last provincial election the NDP won 98% of the seats in HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality, the most densely populated area in NS). When I go back and look at both platform from the NDP and the PCs, the commies were offering the world to anyone that would listen, while the PCs were talking about job growth, economic growth over time, etc.

If you just read the two platforms and you have a brain, you look at the NDP and ask "how the fu*k can they do all this?" The PCs are doing the best job they can do with the money that is available. I guess people are dumb enough to believe that money grows on trees and you don't need fiscal responsibility. Oh, and they thought a public-run auto insurance company would cost $2m to set up, yea right!

Cameron, RT - I agree wholeheartedly. The NDP, as Craig would say, are clowns. As I said before, it baffles me how, after the abysmal failure of socialism and communism (not to mention almost 100 million dead from forcible imposition of socialism and the consequences of its failings as a system), people can still espouse a socialist viewpoint, and what's worse, that others will listen!

Socialism has failed, utterly. The NDP is like the Flat Earth Society - myopic half-wits with blinders on to reality and history. You don't even have to go that far back - just look at what they "achieved" in their term of office in Ontario.

I would say that MArtin is indeed left wing. Just ask him if he supports decriminalizing pot, or approves of Same Sex Marriage.
