Are Canadians getting carried away with with WHO they deem has rights and living beings....

Canadian town officially recognizes trees as living beings with rights

Just found this article in my new feed, and it has me a little complexed, and brings up many questions, like why does a human fetus not protected with rights and recognized as a living being and yet we declare trees, and in some cases rivers according tto the article, i mean do we really need to protect trees in this matter.........

I would have hoped that Canadians would have had the common sense to protect human life first before going off into the woods and proclaiming before god and country that trees "of all things" are recognized as living beings, and have given them rights....and yet on any given day one can go into an abortion clinic and see that human fetuses do not enjoy the same rights...how is that....well that may call into question women's "my body my choice", or the convenient procedure of getting an abortion when both parties did not take the precautions before the heavy petting got carried away.... Who of all things really needed to be protected here, trees, or human fetus....and what is next i mean why not dogs, cats, i would hope some on could make a case for animals before trees or a river....or maybe i am just not up to speed on what is fashionable today....

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Thanks for regurgitating your news feed again for us, and your super deep thoughts on the subject. 🤣

Now can you tell us why anyone should care about symbolic municipal resolutions from a tiny rural community in Quebec?

Hoping the 'morality police' don't come looking for me or my friends . . . we were all loggers.  Just want those 'morality police' and a host of do-gooder types to ponder what their toilet paper is made of.  Maybe they'll for-go the ass wipe and use their bare hands ??

Oh look, another useless post from the man who contributes nothing but cries like a baby when called out on it.

ANd of course he can't address the points so it's back to the good ole "why are we even talking about this" liberal tactic :)

Can you articulate what that point actually is, by any chance?

This is, after all, what I'm asking.  🤡

Better than you apparently. Unfortunately while I can articulate it for you I can't understand it for you, and you're inability to do so is pretty obvious.

But perhaps your poor language and comprehension skills are a result of my postcount? :P

That case was made a long long time ago. Eventually and accordingly it was even codified into law.  Stands to reason, animals are able to recognize the being in a human.

Can you tell us why you think that Army Guy is the person who brought this issue to Canadians' attention, dummy?

Did he write about this because he's a nutjob with no common sense OR DID THE CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION WRITE AN ARTICLE ABOUT IT?

It's your mothership that wrote that article ya wee fool. You should be asking why your cult-leaders brought it up, shouldn't you?

Isn't it weird when the CBC writes about a topic and you think that it's fine, but when a mere poster on an internet forum talks about it you say "it's too small of an issue for Repolitics posters to discuss"? What are we supposed to be doing here if that's beneath us? Should we be ending war and solving hunger? Is that up to us???

Also, the CBC wrote this:

Terrasse-Vaudreuil 1st municipality in Canada to sign on to Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Tree

Doesn't that look like some sort of hint that there should be a second one at some point? Like more communities should be doing it?

Because a different angle would look like: "Tree-Hugging Kooks in Quebec are Making Canadians Look Like Tw4ts".

And, is it a small deal if the CBC is acting like it's an example that should be followed?

You're so stupid that it's honestly painful to look at your posts.

So to summarize, you don't actually have any intelligent input on the topic.  Got it.  👌

Sounds like he's saying the summary is that you don't have anything intelligent to say on the topic

Which is what everybody seems to notice about all of your comments on every topic. You never have anything intelligent to say. You never add to the conversation you never start conversations you just come on the forum and act like a complete twat and everybody makes you look bad and you still keep at it

You're starting to make Robo Smith look emotionally healthy

Literally all you did here is ask why people are talking about it. How does that qualify as "intelligent input"?

It's not irrelevant or symbolic.

FYI there are already bylaws in place about trees in a lot of municipalities, and they are a total pain in the ass. The last thing we need is for things to get worse.

I have a 50-foot evergreen in my front yard that shits needles and small red seed things about 1 cm long all year round, and I'm not allowed to cut the MFer down.

They kill my grass and fill in the edging along my whole front yard, I have to go outside with my leaf blower at least every 5 days or my yard turns to shit.

All across the lower mainland there are different regulations about what trees you can and can't cut, but you basically need a permit to cut down any tree that has a 10" diameter base, and in most cases you just can't get it.

What some people are doing now is applying for a driveway just so that they can cut the tree down, regardless of whether they're getting the driveway or not. Our driveways here are in the back though, so we can't do that.

I hate that fkn tree.

Army guy does not seethe, he is playing the bongo on moonbeams a$$ while his head is stuck in the sand....My point was we as a nation can not give a human fetus human rights or protections....but it is ok for trees, or lakes or rivers....to be....i knew that would fly over your head....like most things do...

The idea that anything you're saying is flying over anyone's head is funny.

Even funnier is that you actually think that trees in Terrasse-Vaudreuil are being granted human rights.

That's so embarrassingly stupid it's crazy.
