The CEO of Air Canada paid the penalty for his inability to speak French when he expressed condolences in English only for a tragedy that occurred.  He was soundly condemned by all the Quebec MLA politicians as well as PM Carney.  This is bizarre.  It is a prime example of the cancel culture which is fast to condemn anyone.  In this case, it was a prime opportunity to push the French language narrative even though every individual who heard the condolence understood what he was saying in English.

"Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau apologized for his inability to speak French in a condolence message following a fatal plane crash.

Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau issued an apology after facing criticism for delivering a four-minute video message of condolence in English only, following the deadly Air Canada Express crash at LaGuardia Airport that killed two pilots, including French-speaking Canadian Antoine Forest. In the video, Rousseau used only two French words, “bonjour” and “merci,” prompting backlash from Quebec politicians and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who described the English-only message as showing a lack of judgment and compassion.

Rousseau stated, “I am deeply saddened that my inability to speak French has diverted attention from the profound grief of the families and the great resilience of Air Canada’s employees. Despite many lessons over several years, unfortunately, I am still unable to express myself adequately in French. I sincerely apologize for this, but I am continuing my efforts to improve”. The apology comes amid calls for his resignation from Quebec Premier François Legault and other political figures, who argued that his failure to communicate in French showed disrespect to francophone employees and customers.

End times because of French?   If he delivered his speech speaking in tongues, then maybe….

@blackbird - have you predicted the end times a lot in the last few decades?  Can you narrow it down to a particular month and year?

LOL

The CEO of Air Canada was cancelled for not speaking French.  He was forced to retire.  That's the cancel culture at work.

The cancel culture is a part of the last days.   There is no date given.  The signs are there.  Ungodliness is widespread.  That is obvious.

What are the signs of the end times according to the Bible?

The signs of the end times according to the Bible encompass several key indicators that reflect both spiritual and societal changes. These signs are primarily derived from prophetic texts, particularly in the books of Matthew, Revelation, and Daniel. Here are the main signs:

Wars and Conflicts: The Bible, particularly in Matthew 24:6-7, predicts an increase in wars, conflicts, and rumors of wars among nations. This escalation of violence is seen as a precursor to the end times.

Natural Disasters: Scripture mentions various natural calamities, including earthquakes, famines, and plagues, as signs of the end (Luke 21:11). Recent studies have shown a correlation between climate change and the frequency of such disasters, which some interpret as aligning with biblical prophecy.

Social and Moral Decay: The Bible warns of a decline in moral values, as seen in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, where it describes people becoming lovers of themselves, greedy, and unholy. This moral degradation is often viewed as a sign of the approaching end.

False Prophets and Messiahs: Matthew 24:24 cautions against false prophets and messiahs who will deceive many. The rise of individuals claiming divine authority for personal gain is a significant concern in contemporary religious discourse.

The Preaching of the Gospel: According to Matthew 24:14, the gospel must be preached to all nations before the end comes. This global evangelistic effort is seen as a fulfillment of prophecy, with organizations like Global Ministries actively working to spread the message worldwide.

False Sense of Security: The Bible warns of a deceptive sense of peace and safety (1 Thessalonians 5:3), where people believe all is well, just before sudden destruction occurs. This warning resonates in today’s context, where complacency can lead to spiritual and societal peril.

Signs of the Last Days in the Bible KJV

In addition to the aforementioned signs, the Bible provides specific verses that highlight the signs of the last days. These include:

Increased Knowledge and Travel: Daniel 12:4 speaks of a time when knowledge will increase, and many will travel to and fro. This can be seen in our modern age of technology and global connectivity.

Persecution of Believers: Matthew 24:9 warns that believers will face persecution and hatred for their faith. This reality is increasingly evident in various parts of the world today.

Signs in the Heavens: Luke 21:25-26 describes signs in the sun, moon, and stars, indicating cosmic disturbances that will occur as the end approaches.

These signs collectively illustrate a biblical framework for understanding the end times, urging believers to remain vigilant and prepared. For further reading on these interpretations, resources such as the Understanding Last Days Scriptures can provide deeper insights.

The cancel culture is just another sign of the corruption of society.  Then there is the liberal government policies sanctioning abortion, medical assistance in dying and growing authoritarianism or control of everyone's life.  Crime out of control, school kids being taught sexual orientation and gender identity ideology.  A general decline and corruption of society.

Have you been born again or saved yet?  Do you know where you are going when you die?

OK, I was not clear enough.

I was not asking for a summation of conditions that would be a sign of the end times.

The question was what does this thread have to do with confirming we are in the end times? What makes this so special as compared to all of the things you listed being true before now?

As others have asked, what is your timeline here, define end times, when does it start?

Yes, yes, I recall this.  My grandfather the Anglican Minister taught me all about the Prophesized End.  I believe it was 67:19 (the Book of Culture-War Screechers), where they talked about how Cancel Culture and how it would bring about Armaggedon.  🫠

It actually started with the first coming of Christ, but the signs of the end times are intensified in past century.

Spiritual Deception and False Teachers

Perhaps the most dangerous sign of the last days is the proliferation of spiritual deception. Jesus warned, "For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24).

The deception won't be crude or obvious—it will be sophisticated, compelling, and wrapped in religious language. Paul warned that "in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons" (1 Timothy 4:1).

False teachers don't typically announce themselves as enemies of truth. They speak what people want to hear, tickle their ears with comfortable lies, and present themselves as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). They'll promise health, wealth, and happiness while avoiding the difficult truths about sin, repentance, and the cost of discipleship.

The Gospel Reaches Every Nation

Amid all the darkness, God's redemptive plan continues to unfold. Jesus declared, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14).

This isn't merely about having Christian missionaries in every country—it's about every people group, every tribe, every tongue hearing the good news of salvation through Christ. The technology of our age has made global communication possible in ways previous generations could never imagine.

The gospel is advancing even in the darkest corners of the earth. Believers are risking their lives to carry the message of hope to unreached peoples. This isn't happening despite the difficulties of the last days—it's happening because God's purpose cannot be thwarted.

Israel: God's Prophetic Timepiece

The restoration of Israel as a nation in 1948 represents one of the most significant prophetic fulfillments in modern history. For nearly 2,000 years, the Jewish people were scattered among the nations, exactly as Scripture predicted. Yet God promised through Ezekiel that He would regather them: "I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land" (Ezekiel 36:24).

Israel's return isn't merely a political development—it's a divine appointment. Jesus spoke of Jerusalem being "trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled" (Luke 21:24). The restoration of Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem in 1967 marked another prophetic milestone.

B.C. under the radical NDP is in a slow suicide mode now.  The NDP is in the process of giving everyone's right to private property away to the natives.  Mines and resource development must seek the approval of native bands for resource development if it happens to be on land claimed as their traditional territory.  This is part of the BC NDP DRIPA law that they brought in a few years ago.  Eby promised to amend it months ago, but now under pressure from FN chiefs, he backed down and put the whole thing on hold.  It is obvious a handful of unelected natives are actually running this province, not the elected government.  Crime is out of control, extortion rampant, and homelessness and crime a serious problem.  The province may be under NDP rule for another three years, during which time they could do more serious damage to the province.

Property is not an Indigenous concept but a European/settler one. They are only borrowing our concept in order to profit from it. Why blame Indigenous people for doing the same as we do.
