He got the guns back...just like the story you told. Point was and is...to be able to take the guns, an event had to happen and they took action. The police were there multiple times for mental health issues with the kid. The kid was transitioning and on a cocktail of various drugs, hormones, etc. He had a history of irrational behaviour going back to age 11. He was openly posting about wanting to do violence.
