You're the one forever going on an on about the power of the media. You've been doing so for years around here. It's at the heart of virtually every single thing you post about.

Not sure if you're aware of this or not, but you if someone posts something you don't like or starts a topic you're not interested in, you can just scroll past.

I do it all the time.

MH makes good use of the ignore function.  You could put me on ignore.  I don't want you having a heart attack because of your obsession with me.

Nope, the same we you mean when you refer to everyone here.

What's really at issue is the lack of power you people put into countering the hooey you believe about the media. Like I said you're similar to people in the Dark Ages whose world was filled with malevolent imaginary forces out to get them and they couldn't think straight as a result.

Ooooooh, like when you were convinced a virus can tell if you're sitting or standing in a restaurant.  And can "get you" when you're buying nails at Mom & Pop's hardware store, but if you buy them from Home Depot, the virus goes "Damn, now we can't get him!"

Or when we abandoned aerosol physics and everyone believed their lives were saved by directional arrows on the floor.

Or like when we REALLY went back to the Dark Ages and told everyone natural immunity doesn't exist?

LOL, you crack me up.

No, more like when you started worrying about getting cooties from vaccinated people.

Is that why you moved to the most vaccine hesitant region in Canada?

Ooooh, another Dark Ages belief - the vaccinated NEVER infect anyone else with covid.

Hahahahha, that was a good one, too.

Nice try but you were more afraid of bits and pieces of vaccine shedding off vaccinated people.

You don't fear the virus itself, you've made it patently clear it's just a nothingburger.

And I posted the studies that show it's happening and more studies that show the mechanism for how it happens.

If you want to reject science, that's fine.  If you want to ignore all the studies of what the jabs are doing to people - cardio, neuro, hema, etc., that's fine, too.

But you don't get to then accuse anyone else of being in the Dark Ages.

No you didn't, you posted hooey. It's impossible for COVID vaccine to shed because it's not alive.

That's true but there's something else as well

I'm not sure if you've ever known any gamblers, specifically bad gamblers, but there's an interesting trait. The more they start to lose, the more they're sure that if they just make one more bet and hang on a little bit longer they'll win big

I think we're seeing a little of that now. People know that cardi is not performing. They know Canada is in real trouble. But rather than come to the adult  conclusion that they made a bad decision, they double down emotionally and desperately hope that carney will be their savior.

When that kind of thing happens, when the end comes and finally their hopes are dashed the depression can be extremely real the hatred of their object of worship can be as strong as their worship was.

I'm thinking if we get to the fall and the kousma agreement has fallen apart, trade is still low, inflation is bad and the economy is in the tank we're going to see people begin to finally face the error of their decisions

When Rogan asked Poilievre about Mark Carney, Poilievre replied, "I'm not going to criticize our Prime Minister on foreign soil."

When Jon Stewart asked Carney about Pierre Poilievre, Carney goes off on a smug, arrogant, condescending rant.

Lol... ah yes, that go-to source of the skinny when you need it, Braeden Caley.

I'll give you this...  I saw a few clips of the interview which was enough for me, but Poilievre did okay.  He looked nervous and repeated the same things every Canadian has known for a year with nothing new, but all in all he did okay.  It's not going to do much for his appeal to voters, so back to reality now.

$94 billion in spending that Carney lists as "capital spending" does not meet the internationally approved definition of capital spending.

It's all operational spending.

And if you had watched the committee meetings with the PBO, you would understand how this fancy accounting trick is designed to hide spending from Canadians and fool them into thinking things are better than they really are.

Breaking down Prime Minister Mark Carney's budget plan | Opinion | winnipegsun.com

What used to be considered operating costs is now being recast as capital investment. That includes corporate tax expenditures, investment credits and subsidies. These are not bridges, ports or trade corridors. They are policy choices that affect annual spending.

When those costs are shifted out of the operating column, the books appear to improve. But nothing has actually changed. The money is still being spent.

The Parliamentary Budget Officer has already raised concerns. Roughly $94 billion in spending labeled as “capital” does not meet standard definitions. That is about 30 percent of what the government is counting as investment. If those items were classified properly, the operating budget would still be in deficit.

That matters. Investors, credit agencies and taxpayers rely on clear financial reporting. When definitions are stretched, confidence erodes.

The Fraser Institute has called this approach misleading.

Net zero is dead. Why is Mark Carney still pushing it? | Financial Post

Now we have a new prime minister who is trying to appear less committed to the net-zero mission. But the transformation of the UN Secretary General’s “special envoy on climate action and finance” has been less than biblical. True, one of his first actions on taking power was to remove the despised consumer carbon tax. But that was largely sleight-of-hand, moving the tax out of public view onto beleaguered businesses already struggling with Trump tariffs.

Net-zero fatigued Canadians should be asking their prime minister, “Why are you weakening our already struggling economy with carbon taxes and wasting taxpayer money subsidizing wind farms when it will make no perceptible difference to the global climate?”

He owes them an answer.

And our food inflation shows the results.  The carbon tax is still alive and well and making life unaffordable for Canadians

10 million Canadians in food insecure households affecting 25% of the population.

What grade would you give Carney on the issue of grocery prices after a year in power, not to mention his advisory role since 2020? Carney himself we should judge him on that.

Comparison of Food Inflation in G7 (2026)

Country Food Inflation Rate (% increase)
Canada 6.2%
United States 3.1%
United Kingdom 3.6%
Japan 3.9%
Italy 2.6%
France 2.0%
Germany 1.5%

I don't know what grade I've give him... and that's not dodging the question.  We pay for groceries like everyone else and know how expensive it is but honestly haven't dove into all the why's and how's too deeply.  A quick look though says climate change, higher corporate profits and supply chain inefficiencies are key drivers.  Throw in our reliance on imports with a weaker dollar, tariffs, along with rising energy, transportation and labour costs and next thing you know things, including food cost a lot more.  Makes sense right...  How much of that would you put on Carney?

Okay your turn.  Explain how the industrial carbon tax increases food inflation.
