Thanks for demonstrating you know nothing about how gerrymandering works. 1. CA 50 was ONLY done due to Trump ordering Texas to change their Congressional District maps. 2. Gerrymandering does NOTHING which affects statewide elections like Governors (you know, the big races last Tuesday) and Senators. 3. AKA ONLY Congressional House Districts (maybe state legislatures) are affected. 4. Congressional Districts are mapped independent of counties according to roughly EQUAL POPULATIONS. 5. ONLY the bolded is correct for House Representatives. CA is likely to gain 5 Democratic Reps to offset the 5 Republican reps that Texas will likely gain. 6.
