Again I say, one of the best reasons for deep transparency and accountability is to help undermine the truly ridiculous claims about corruption that all to often becomes associated and implicated with the sort of conspiracies one expects to find in the National Enquirer and on Goddesse's hard drive.

There's probably no bigger hurdle to making things better than crying wolf at every turn when it's just really an occasional coyote causing problems.

At risk of sounding like an authoritarian dare I say we might be a lot more governable and easier for politicians to relate to if we weren't forever looking at them with such deep suspicion.

When we give them shit to work with that's probably what we can expect in return.

LMAO! Yer a fricken loon dude.

Ahhhhh, you believe the corruption is mostly imaginary.  No wonder you don't want anything done about it.

No you just say that because you're such a twit. Its a troll, an aspersion based on the worst sort of partisan sycophancy - if you're not with me you're against me. It's ironic how transparent you are.

a Citizen's Assembly should be eminently democratic.

This is a good idea.  Unfortunately for you, Jordan Peterson already started the groundwork for the idea.

The only problem I could see, is it would likely be people like you on there:

*Gov't proposes something sketchy*

Citizen's Assembly:  "This seems sketchy."

Eyeball:  Let's just ask them if they are up to something sketchy.  "Hey gov't, are you up to something sketchy here?"

Gov't:  Nooooooooooo.

Eyeball:  See, everyone?  They say there's nothing sketchy going on.  They would totally tell us if there was.  Like I always say - Criminals always tell you when they're up to something sketchy.  You don't have to investigate or find out - just ask them!

Your claim to want to bring about accountability, while voting for parties that have no interest in ending it....is quite bizarre.

How do you know this? Were you looking over my shoulder when I cast my ballot? You took a picture?

When you keep repeating this with such an accusational determination don't you think you should be required to come up with evidence at some point?

I said an assembly picked at random. Why did you ignore that and imply the assembly was rigged?

This a real window on how your diseased mind works.

You should try to learn from it.

You told us.  All the time.  You only vote NDP or Liberal, NEVER Conservative.  Because you're totally non-partisan. *wink wink*

And you refuse to vote for the only party that wants to tackle accountability.

They may "suck at it", who knows?  At least they want to try.

Instead you vote for the parties that love corruption and want to keep it going.  Because you love accountability.  *wink wink*

Oh, okay.

So only half of them would be people like you.

Anyways, Peterson proposed having people with varied backgrounds, experience in economics, healthcare, business, education, etc.

I'm not sure I would put much faith in just random Canadians.  You all wanted your fellow citizens put to death, thrown in jail, have their kids taken away, fired, put in camps for refusing an experimental jab that didn't even protect you from anything.

It would be like putting the religious zealots in charge of the Salem Witch Trials.  That didn't work out too good for humanity.

Peterson's group is called "Alliance for Responsible Citizenship".

I'm sure you would be against this, because I'm pretty sure you hate Jordan Peterson with a passion.  And would probably find reasons to hate everyone else on the panel.

I'm not sure where it's at right now, I understand Peterson's health has been really bad lately.

Sounds good. I'd want to see a proper vetting process that involves constituents having a chance to pick the best representative.

I feel like we need an age requirement on this site.

Pages and pages of 12-yr-old boy contributing nothing but LOLs and LOSERs and fart jokes.

Isn't it naptime yet?

The adults would like to discuss things.

Don't you feel like a fool and LOSER if you are being bested by a 12 year old boy all th time and certainly enough for you to complain about???

Pretty sad you cannot keep up with a 12 year old boy LOL LOL LOL

Adults may want to discuss but yet, here you are complaining about how foolish you look whining to a 12 year old boy.... pretty sad for you LOSER HA HA HA

Just stop responding and maybe the 12 year old boy will find other to troll and play with??? LOL LOL LOL

So defeated you had to admit is and even post it "totally and completely defeated and even admit that " I'm not happy with him for other reasons "  and " i don't blindly support anyone. I don't pretend the leader of a party i support is perfect just because i support that party."

Sad sad little confux...LOSING a LOSER and still being a LOSER

I would imagine that a 12-year-old would think they're getting the better of people, but they're very clearly not :)

Awww poor little confix...

How stupid are to to argue with what you deem is a 12 year old.... and lose too??? Getting the better of you for sure. How grown up of you to argue with and call a 12 year old names all this time. Shows the level of maturity you are at  LOL LOL LOL

I accept your admission of failure to stick with your hero. Bailing when it gets tough...and then you say "totally and completely defeated and even admit that " I'm not happy with him for other reasons "  and " i don't blindly support anyone. I don't pretend the leader of a party i support is perfect just because i support that party."  Being defeated constantly by a 12 year old is as sad as it gets

So...a LOSER is jumping off a LOSERS bandwagon.... FAILURE form both LOL LOL LOL

OMG...what a LOSER to your hero as well as LOSING to a 12 year old HA HA HA

Sad sad little man

I told you this a million times kid, nobody here is arguing with you. This isn't a debate or a discussion, you've never been able to make a clear point and your entire time here.

You're the comic relief. We all enjoy laughing at you. LOL  but i suppose a kid like you wouldn't have realized that :)  It's absolutely hilarious that not only do you think you're actually in an 'argument', but that you think you're doing great! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, you just can't buy this kind of humour :)

You're here for us to laugh at kiddo. :)  Take a bow ;)

I told you a million times it is you trying to argue or belittle or call a "12 year old" names and that is so sad from a supposedly mature adult (clearly not if continually playing with a 12 year old)

You claim I am 12 and yet, you continue to retort and you are LOSING at it.

As you say "I would imagine that a 12-year-old would think they're getting the better of people,"

Well, this "12 year old" seems to have your number and you keep coming back to try and prove some sort of point. If you don't want to play with a 12 year old...then stop LOL LOL LOL

If not, then continue on your LOSER way HA HA HA

As you said "totally and completely defeated and even admit that " I'm not happy with him for other reasons "  and " i don't blindly support anyone. I don't pretend the leader of a party i support is perfect just because i support that party."

I accept your admission of defeat by you and your hero PP Le Pew

What a LOSER :)

The Liberals, under Trudeau, spent $11 billion on gender sensitive crap all over the world.

And it was all added to our national debt.

Since it's the same Liberal gov't under Carney, this continues.

https://www.international.gc.ca/world-monde/issues_development-enjeux_developpement/priorities-priorites/policy-politique.aspx?lang=eng#1

"The core action area for the new policy—which will be integrated across all areas—is: gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

The other action areas we have chosen are:

-human dignity, covering humanitarian action, health and nutrition, and education;
-growth that works for everyone, which targets areas such as sustainable agriculture, green technologies and renewable energy;
-environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management;
-inclusive governance, including democracy, human rights, the rule of law and good governance; and
-peace and security, by promoting inclusive peace processes and combatting gender-based violence."

Alright for you to have these rights and security, but not them?

There are also private banks that make micro-loans to women only in poor countries, because they know women will use the money to make their family's lives better, while men are much more liekely to be irresponsible.

So cut the bull sh!t about us paying for sex-changes,etc... Foreign aid save lives and helps lift people out of poverty.

We can debate whether we should do it, how much we should give, corruption and inefficiencies, etc... but at least be honest about what it is.
