If Canadians can't be won over by anything monetary or fiscal it's because they're as weary as they are wary of the shysters forever trying to win them over.

They've heard it all before all their lives and the grind never quits.

Canadians realize there's more to life than money and that's what they'd rather prioritize. Quality of life trumps money, especially when the prosperity gains are forever concentrated into fewer and fewer hands.

Whatever, doesn't matter... they're far too polarized to change course yet anyway.

They want more and they're willing to vote for it... IMO this has to really hurt before that changes. As the quote above suggests, Canadians were (largely) born into a world of prosperity, or at least relative prosperity when compared to other places that most of them have never been and will never see. Different places, different problems, different circumstances but they all contain lessons that could have been extrapolated but weren't.

That experience gap coupled with the sort of full throttle commitment (many consider reckless) comes at a cost. You can experience it over there or you can import the entire experience here and watch it unfold from your kitchen window. The problem is not knowing what to be cautious of and not believing those who do. One of the things you learn "over there" is what you don't want "over here" and that's only one part of the first half of the equation.

I see time as the enemy, it will take us 25 years to undo some of the damage already done and we haven't even stopped making it worse yet.

That would be you and the liberals.  You guys say you can have prosperity without work, You guys say you can beat climate change with taxes, you guys make the promises and then take the prosperity from the people and buy 3000 dollar a plate airline food.

You ARE the shyster's trying to win them over.

So you're not concerned what Carney and the Liberals have done to Canadians?  Do you know Carney and his entourage spent half a million dollars on luxury catering in his first year on his travels?

If you recall (fat chance of that) I was the first poster in the forum to point out Carney's first official campaign lie.

Yeah, I heard about that. You were surprised? This says way more about you than me.

I don't but that doesn't mean you weren't.  But maybe stop voting for him ;)

I wasn't surprised. I'm more surprised that the left is ok with a 'king' who basically says 'let them eat cake' while he dines on food that costs what 11 families spend in a year as his inflight meals.

Remember when Jack Layton of the NDP was vehemently opposed to carbon taxation because he thought it was wrong to punish people for heating their homes, driving to work, and eating?

I miss him.

And how has quality of life gotten better under the Liberal/NDP alliance?

How about we instead cut spending?

Just an idea. We could start with spending on refugees by refusing any more refugees and sending most of the ones here back home.

It falls just fine, but to understand it you do need a greater than grade 5 education. I'll have someone from Junior High stop by and explain it to you
